This year’s Baisakhi is going to be extra special as this will be the first Baisakhi after two years that will not have the restrictions of pandemic. While caution remains, celebrities are all set to indulge in the spirit of Vaisakh.
Actor Dheeraj Dhoopar talked about his plans for Baisakhi and shared, “This year is going to be special. I will be finally calling my parents over from Delhi to be with us. It’s been long since we spent Baisakhi together. This festival holds a very special significance in our lives because it is a part of our tradition and is in fact, more of my family
tradition than anything else.”
Jasmin Bhasin also talked about it and shared, “I will be celebrating Baisakhi with friends in Mumbai. I’ve recently returned from London, shooting for my Punjabi debut film, and don’t want to travel again, especially with the new COVID variant rising. I’ll decorate my home in Mumbai and cook traditional food like kadi, peele chawal, and phirni for friends. I feel friends are the family we choose for ourselves, and since my one family will be in Kota, my other family will be here with me to celebrate with. I will virtually meet my parents.”
Hunar Gandhi who recently joined the show Tear Mera Saath Rahe shared, “Since Baisakhi is the New Year for us Sikhs, we celebrate it with vibrant colors at home and in the gurudwara. We offer prayers, take prasad. Mom makes pindi chole and kheer at home and our entire family gathers in celebration. Finally, after two years we will get to celebrate fully without fear and restrictions in the gurudwara.”
