Sunflower Petals

Shivaay is seen in his room.He is looking around.Without Anika,it feels quite empty and silent.He sighs.
With a slow pace he walks towards the dressing table.His and Anika’s accessories are kept there together,side by side.Standing at a little distance Shivaay recalls Anika getting ready in front of the mirror.He forwards his one closed fist ahead then opens it slowly-Anika’s nuptial chain and vermilion box are placed on his open palm.Putting the vermilion box down,Shivaay takes the magalsutra in his hand-
Shivaay:
I had left with no other option Anika.Already imposed so many lies on you,have kept you under illusion only for your well-being.I know you were tensed but I had to do it,for you.Don’t know what will happen when you will come to know all these.Wish I could stop that from happening!But,I am helpless.I just want you to be happy and you will.I promise……………
He puts down the nuptial chain on the dressing table.Turning back he heads towards the bed.Sitting there he keeps on staring a photo frame of his and Anika’s picture which Rudra has clicked,on the bed-side table.
Few minutes later Dadi comes and sits beside him.She places her hands on his shoulder.Shivaay turns to her side-
Shivaay:Dadi,you have not slept yet?You must be tired.You should take rest.
Dadi:Billu,are you okay?
Bringing a forced smile Shivaay says-I am absolutely okay Dadi.
Dadi:I can see that.Also can see what your eyes are saying.Shivaay takes a long pause like he is thinking something deeply.Breaking the silence-
Shivaay:Dadi,am I doing right?
Dadi:With Anika or with yourself?
Shivaay:I am in terrible dilemma Dadi.Sometimes I feel really helpless and powerless when I can’t tame my own heart.Wish there could be some medicine to control one’s heart!
I tried Dadi but failed miserably.I searched for answer but never found.
Dadi smiles-Human heart is not something which one can control.It’s not meant to be controlled.
It’s not your fault Billu.If you try to suppress your feelings,it will suffocate you in return.It will be impossible to live then.
Shivaay:This is what is happening with me Dadi.
Dadi:
But,you yourself has chosen this.She stops-
Tell me one thing very clearly Billu-Whatever you are doing for Anika dear,do you consider those as your Responsibility or something else?
Minutes pass but Shivaay says nothing.Breaking the silence Dadi says-
Dadi:Hmmmm…..I understood.That means my Billu has fallen in love!Shivaay looks at her in shock.
Shivaay:No….Dadi,it’s not like that.You…you are mistaken.
Dadi:I am not mistaken dear.It’s you who are mistaken.You wanted answer na Billu?Here is your answer-
You love Anika.For the first time you have fallen in love.Being the eldest son of Oberoi khandan you have always surrounded yourself with responsibility.Never have enough time to think about yourself.In the process of fulfilling everyone’s wishes,you forgot,ignored all the wishes of your heart,what you want actually.
That became normal for you gradually like a habit.
It could be like that but something got changed.Dadi takes the photo frame of Shivaay and Anika in her hand-
Someone came into your life and that changed that set-up.Your own heart rebelled against you,for the first time.And you got caught up in the whirlwind of love without your knowledge and-against your wish.
In the beginning you considered those evocation of heart as responsibility.But love’s power managed to win the stubborn,unbend heart of Shivaay Singh Oberoi.
Your defense went on weakening as days passed by.Realizing that,you feel helpless and weak.
Shivaay:I did not want to fall weak Dadi.That’s why I never ever thought of love.And I will never fall weak.
Dadi:Billu,who told you that love makes a person weak?Love is the ultimate strength of human heart.As a person falls in love,he becomes strong and his love gives him that strength.Take your example-If you were not strong then how could you come so far?Your love for Anika provided you all the strength you needed no matter how much you deny now.
Shivaay:But Dadi….
Dadi:I know what you want to say Billu.But let me tell you one thing.You can’t run away from love.
It’s not in everyone’s fate to find true love.The way to find it is most difficult,extremely painful.It will go on testing you at every chance.That’s why it’s the most priceless asset to have and rare too!Dadi hands over the frame to Shivaay-
Your journey of Ishqbaaazi just started Billu.You have a long way to go.She stands up-
Don’t fight with your heart.You won’t win.Rather fight for your love,be it with yourself or anyone and I mean it.Shivaay looks at her-
And I know,mera Billu aapni dulhan zaroor layega,jo uske dil mein bassti hain.
Smiling she bends down and kisses Shivaay’s forehead and leaves the room humming a romantic song.He watches as Dadi goes.His gaze falls on the photo-
Shivaay:Have I really fallen in love with you,Anika?Right that moment Dadi says from the doorstep-
Dadi:Go to sleep Billu.Anika may come in your dreams to answer that!
Shivaay:Dadi,you are….
Dadi:Yes,I am your Dadi.Good night.She leaves laughing.Shivaay looks at the photo with a deep sigh.
Some Time Later

Shivaay is in the kitchen.OmRu come-
Om:Making something?
Shivaay:Yes,hot chocolate drink for three of us.
Rudra:I need it most right now.Feeling hungry.
Om:Have not you eaten dinner?
Rudra:No.Ladkiyon ne mujhe khane hi nahi diya.Was busy,you know.
Shivaay:Have it then.He passes on a drink.
Om:Duffer Oberoi!
Shivaay:Shall I cook something for you?
Rudra:No bhaiya.I will manage for tonight.They leave the kitchen for the hall to sit.
Rudra:Today’s inauguration ceremony is just fantastic.My friends called,messaged me continuously.He checks his phone-Social media is on fire because of that.
You and Anika di are trending at number one-#DazzlingHotCouple
Om:One second,let me see.He passes on the phone.Shivaay says nothing.
Om:Even me too got calls and messages.Everyone was asking about Anika.Are you listening Shivaay?
Shivaay:All these feeds will be removed.Different things will come out tomorrow.
Om:You mean “Half Truth”?
Rudra:I really feel bad for Anika di.
Shivaay:Anika’s showroom inauguration should be the highlight and that’s the truth.It will reach to people,not other things.
Om:How will you do that?Controlling social media is not an easy task.
Shivaay:I did it already.That social media buzz is limited to Delhi only.But news of Anika’s showroom opening has spread across the country through big media houses.Will come out tomorrow.I have appointed a special team to do that.They are handling.
Om:Don’t you think you took a big risk?
Rudra:I agree with O.
Om:I have seen Anika’s press conference.You too were there.I am sure you have heard what she said regarding you and her relation and everything else.
Shivaay:Do you trust your brother?
Om:Of course.
Shivaay:Then trust me on this too.
Om:I will.But you know Shivaay,no matter how much we try to control a situation,sometimes nothing works.We stay prepared,on guard still unexpected things happen.
Rudra:Bhaiya told na that he will manage in fact managed already.Then?ShivOm say nothing-
Hello,I am talking with you guys.Yeh mute button kab dab gayi?
Shivaay:Your concern is justified Om.But I know what I am doing.
Om:If you are saying so then it’s okay with me.I have no problem,
Rudra:If you guys are finished with your serious talk,can I suggest something?
Shivaay:What?
Rudra:Come with me.
He takes both ShivOm with him to his room.Later they get busy in playing video games followed by Obros talk on the bed.While talking,they fall asleep.
On the other hand in Trivedi Villa Anika,Gauri and Soumya too fall asleep while talking.
In the middle of the night Shivaay and Anika wake up from the sleep.
They smile looking around then lie down once again.Closing eyes they say,simultaneously-
-I am missing you,Shivaay.
-I am missing you,Anika.
