Dhanananand boasts that his huge army has resources with which they can cover 8 days’ worth distance in 3 days, they will travel continuously till they meet Seleucus down south. They start traveling. Chanakya explains his plan to Chandragupta and Piplivan khatriyas that they will shoo animals towards Magadh soldiers and keeping them busy steal only some of their grocery and Magadh soldiers will not doubt them not noticing it. Chandragupta does same and steals grocery. He tells Chanakya they destroyed Magadh soldiers’ food resources and now will destroy their water resources. Agnimukh says Magadh soldiers’ water resource is a lake around 50 km away. Chanakya says they have to reach lake before Magadh soldiers and gives hypnotic powder to mix it in lake.

Chandragupta with his team reaches lake and mixes hypnotic powder before soldiers reach. His spy signals seeing Magadh soldiers coming. Chandragupta with his team hides. Chanakya sees bundelkhandi knife on lake bed and informs Chandragupta. Chandragupta runs and picking knife swims away on the other side of lake. Magadh soldiers carry water in pots. Dhananand’s army grocery organizer informs Pandu that they don’t have enough grocery left for soldiers. Pandu scolds him and calls him incompetent. Dhananand hears that and realizes someone must have done something and thinks Chanakya must have. Soldiers oppose seeing very less food. Cook says they can fill their stomach with water. They start drinking water. Dhananand comes out of his tent and stops them saying something is mixed in this water for sure. A few soldiers collapse after drinking water. Vaidya checks them and water and says king’s doubt it right, hypnotic is mixed in water. Chanakya on the other side tells his team that they have enough time to reach their destiny before Magadh soldiers wake up.
Dhananand tells Pandu and Mahamartya that Piplivan kshatriyas are expert in defensive moves, so they cannot defeat Piplivan khsatriyas easily and have to plan something wicked and showing poisonous thorny shrub says they will plant it on the way and Piplivan khsatriyas will die pricked by thorns. Chandragupta with his team heads on secret way. Agnimukh sees shrub and warns his team to be careful about this shrub as its thorn’s prick can kill any person. Thorn pricks Chandragupta, he notices it, but continues walking. Chanakya says they have to move ahead of Dhananand as Dhananand found out we are traveling via narrow lanes of jungle and poisonous thorns can kill them. Chandragupta thinks he has to hide his wound till war ends.
