Charu Asopa opens up about the challenges and joys of single parenthood
Charu Asopa, who recently went through a divorce with Rajeev Sen, opened up about her experiences as a single parent and the challenges she faces while raising her daughter, Ziana. Despite the difficulties, Charu has managed to find a balance and maintain an amicable relationship with her ex-husband. In a recent interview, she shared her insights on the journey of motherhood and the daily lessons she learns.
“There are moments when it becomes exhausting and frustrating, but as a parent, you have to handle things. Just a couple of days ago, Ziana refused to eat, and I got upset with her. She looked at me and started crying, which made me feel terrible. I couldn’t help but cry as well. As a mother, it can be difficult to navigate through such situations. We are both learning from each other,” Charu expressed.
Every day brings new experiences for Charu as she adapts to her role as a mother. From exploring different foods for Ziana to managing her daily activities, Charu embraces the learning process. “I learn something new every day, whether it’s about her food or any other aspect. I’m experimenting with her meals and trying to adjust and grow alongside her. Regarding the lack of support, I believe that not all children are the same. It’s not necessary for every child to follow the same path of growth. Just as every motherhood journey is unique, each child has their own childhood journey. There isn’t a perfect book on parenting that you can read and follow. You have to learn as you go,” she shared.
Charu also discussed the challenges she faced in finding a suitable home when she decided to live separately with her daughter. “When I was single, finding a house wasn’t too difficult. However, it became challenging when I had Ziana with me. I would go house hunting every day with her, and there were instances when everything seemed to be finalized, but at the last moment, something would go wrong, and I wouldn’t get the house. Being a single mother and an actress, people were hesitant to offer their houses for rent. Their reluctance was evident. Additionally, taking Ziana along during house hunting was quite challenging, as she would get hungry, and we would have to stop the car to feed her. There were many things happening, and at times, I would feel frustrated, but I had no other option,” she concluded, reflecting on the difficulties she encountered during this process.
