Cupid’s Stupid Game Of Love
A Strange Stomach Infection
———————————————-
Laksh’s point of view
“Sorry Ragini.” I mumbled once again as she shoved her bag inside the car and got on to the passenger seat.
I took my driver seat next to her and kept looking at her.
” what? Take me home” she snapped While I shook my head.
“Not until you forgive me” I replied childishly.
‘Your wish” she answered and turned her head towards the window and continued looking at the people outside.
So basically, my dear dear wife is angry with me because, I got over drunk yesterday night and puked on her. I know that’s so amazing, but yeah. I know I am a pathetic husband.
And I’ve been apologizing to her since the past twenty minutes, ever since we left Karitika’s house. But she just wouldn’t listen. She’s is stubborn as hell. I hate her. Huh!.
“Sorry na” I mumbled once again and she ignored as usual.
I looked at her and chuckled lowly at her face. She looks beautiful in that annoyed face.
I started the cars engine and started driving.
“I think somebody was not going up take me home” she mocked at me while I smiled.
‘Who said that we are going home sweetheart?” I asked and she widened her eyes.
“Where are you taking me then?” She asked.
“To somewhere” I replied.
“Tell me or I will call the police” she warned.
“What? Seriously? You’ll get me arrested just because I puked on you?” I asked in disbelief. She is such a horrible wife you know.
“Yes” she replied.
I sighed and continued to drive. She didn’t ask me any further questions until we were out of the city.
” Laksh! Where the hell are we going?” She screamed in my ears and it was my turn to ignore her.
“Laksh stop the car” she yelled.
“As you say” I replied and stopped the car in the middle of the road. She looked at me and then at the road.
“Why is no one here?” She asked.
“I don’t know” I replied with a light shrug. That’s creepy but still I don’t know why there’s no one here.
She glared at me for some time before sighing.
“Laksh you’re impossible. Okay fine. I forgive you. ” she replied.
“Not done! Kiss me if you really want to reach home today” I replied with a smirk.
She sighed once again. “I knew you’re impossible” she muttered before coming close to me. As our lips were just millimeters apart, she opened the car’s door with a jerk and got out of it.I followed her only to find her vomiting on the side of the road. I rushed to her and rubbed her back.
“Thank God she didn’t plan to take a revenge on me.” I thought to myself.
Once she stopped, I handed her a bottle of water to rinse her mouth and to drink some in order to make her feel better.
Once she was done, I took her inside the car.
“I told you not to eat those oily street foods. Karitika eats them often, so it won’t affect her so much. But you are more sensitive than her. Now see, you have food poisoning” I yelled at her while she looked weakly at me.
“Sorry” was all that she mumbled before passing out.
No! She is really ill. I need to take her to the hospital. I sprinkled some water on her face and when she woke up,I started my Car’s engine and drove as fast as possible. I took her to the nearest hospital I found.
After waiting for sometime, it was our turn to go inside.
“Hmm… What did she eat today?” The doctor asked after I told her what happened in the car a few minutes back.
Uh? Just around three samosas, four vada pavs and seven plates of pani puri. That’s all. How the hell she has such a perfect body?
“A lot of street food” I replied while glaring at Ragini for her mistake as she smiled sheepishly.
“Tell me specifically” the doctor demanded.
“three samosas, four vada pavs and seven plates of pani puri.” I replied looking in all directions but doctor’s.
“And you allowed her to eat it all” she asked widening her eyes while I nodded with an apologetic smile.
“Well then, I think its just some stomach infection. But let’s just check her once for clarity.” she replied and I nodded.
Ragini looked at me with scared eyes pleading me to stop her from going for the check up. I know she’s scared of injections and there word ‘check ups.’ LOL!.
I smiled at her and blinked my eyes assuring her that it’s going to fine.
“Bring her here” the doctor said while I nodded and helped Ragini get on to the bed.
“Get out” the doctor said while pushing me out of her room. How polite! If they were going to undress Ragini or something, let me tell them that there’s nothing in her that I have not seen. Come on. She’s my wife! Like duhh!!!
The nurse come out after some time to call me in. I followed her inside to find a confused Ragini and a smiling doctor.
‘Congratulations to the two of you. You’ll be parents soon” she chirped.
I widened my eyes in shock. What? I looked at Ragini to realize that she was in equal shock.
“Here’s a list of medicines for her. And yes you, stop eating all that non sense from now. Maybe once in a while is okay, but in small quantities. Okay?” She asked turning to Ragini. She nodded vigorously.
“Alright then, see you” the doctor said with a warm smile as we walked out of the room.
This doctor is rude, but she’s quite caring. I like her. I’ll bring Ragini to this place only for her regular check ups.
As we stepped out of the hospital, I couldn’t help but jump up and down like a monkey.
“Laksh, calm down” Ragini said in disbelief.
“What calm down. I’m gonna be a dad soon. Isn’t that great? I love you Ragini” I yelled and smashed my lips on hers forgetting about the things and people surrounding us.
I could feel people staring at us and many “AWs” could be heard around us. We broke the kiss and Ragini looked down in shame.
“Congratulations to both of you” many people around us greeted while Ragini blushed like a tomato.
I picked Ragini up in my arms and carried her to our car.
She didn’t speak at all. Just kept playing with her fingers. The ride was silent except for the little funny noises i made while i thought about our baby.
When we reached home, I carried her to our bed and laid her down.
“Now listen, you’ve got some rules to follow from now. Number one, you will not eat anything that’s unhealthy for you or for my child. Number two, no papayas from today as well. Number three, you won’t wash any clothes. Number four, you won’t walk. If you need something, just call me or Swara or ma or chachi. But you won’t move from here. Consider that you’re on a complete bed rest for nine months from now. You’ll have to eat fresh fruits at least twice a day. You won’t climb up and down on the stairs. And yes, you’re not going to Vani’s wedding. And even if I allow you to go, you won’t dance.” I instructed.
She stared at me with a stunned face.
” Understood?” I asked at the end of my speech.
“Yes” she replied.
“What did you understand?” I asked.
“Many things. Number one, that you’ve totally lost it. Number two, that I’ll be a fat mother. And Number three, that I’ll die of boredom before giving birth to my child” she replied.
“Shut up. You better don’t break any of my Rules.” I warned.
“I think I’m pregnant, not paralyzed.” She said sarcastically.
“Think that you are paralyzed. End of discussions. You won’t move from this bed. Getting it?” I said seriously to her while she gulped. I mentally chuckled at her.
” Now let me call everybody and tell them that I’m gonna me a dad soon” I yelled with excitement and took my phone to dial Sanskar’s number. He’ll be the first one to know this. He’s so lucky. My baby will call him bade papa. The way he calls my dad.
Wow!! Is this a dream. Just nine months from now and I’ll have a little one playing in my arms? Isn’t that amazing?
“Grow up first, you little excited monkey” I heard Ragini mumble under her breath while she chuckled. Why is she making fun of me? Huh? I hate her. Pathetic woman!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ragini’s point of view.
The news just made my day, week, month or maybe even the year. I’m so excited. I’ll be having a little baby to play with. A little toy of my own. My baby!
I Sighed. My excitement is nothing as compared to Laksh’s. I really doubt if he would allow me to even breath during my pregnancy. LOL? He just laid so many rules, as if I’m going to follow any of them.
I sighed once again. I’m happy that at least he’s not like most of the men who her nervous on hearing such a news. He accepted it so readily. I know he’s my silly Mr Perfect!
My phone rung. I looked at the caller’s ID. “Riya”
I picked it up.
“Oh my god Ragini! Congratulations!!!!! How are you feeling now? Are you okay? Is Laksh taking good care of you?” She yelled over the phone. I chuckled. I need some mature friends.
“Get aside. I need to talk to her” I heard Karitika fight.
“Hello? Ragini? Congratulations!! It’s your first month right? Wow!! I’ll be a maasi soon. Yeah??!” She chirped.
“Wait! I was Talking to her. Give it back to me” I heard Riya whine like a baby. I chuckled again.
“Are you both done with your fights? If yes, then can I talk to my girlfriend and ask her how is our first baby?” I heard Ravi ask.
“Guys guys, put it on speaker. Then we all will be able to talk to her” it was Sunil.
Good! At least I have that one smart friend to control hundred insane ones.
“Congratulations Ragini!!!!” They all screamed together while I smiled. I’ve got such sweet friends.
“Thank you so much guys” I replied.
And after that, they started shooting lame questions at me. I sighed.
“Shut up guys, stop bothering her. She needs rest” Kavita spoke. Oh yeah! She’s the only experienced woman here. Three year’s experience you know!
“Ragini, you can end this call or these idiots won’t let you take any rest” she yelled before hanging up.
I chuckled again. I thought that People loved me so much right from the time I was born. But now, I’m jealous of my own child, because people love it more than me even when he’s inside my stomach. Silly me!
“RAAGGIINNII!!” I heard Laksh chirp as he brought a bowl of fruit salad for me.
“Eat this” he said while putting a slice of apple in my mouth.
“You cut them on your own right?” I asked while he nodded.
“Well I guessed that seeing their fantastically abnormal shape and your bleeding finger” I said with a chuckle.
He tried hiding his left hand but I caught it.
“Don’t try to be smart. Let me get the first aid box” I said.
‘No. You won’t get up. Tell me where is it?” He asked. I sighed and pointed towards the cupboard.
He managed to find it on his own and brought it for me. I started bandaging his cut whole he kept putting slices of some, bananas, kiwis, strawberries, apples, pears and what not inside my mouth.
I kept looking at the silly and cute husband I got. Months ago, we both hated each other and now, I don’t even have words to explain my feelings. Once I was done, I hugged him.
“Careful, you can hurt my baby. Silly woman” he said.
I broke the hug and hit him playfully on his arm.
“You know, you’re a pathetic immature husband?” I mumbled.
“Yes, and you love it that way” he replied while we both burst into fits of laughter.
I love him. As if you didn’t know that already.
That evening, at around eight, I heard Sanskar’s voice.
“Ragini?” He mumbled lowly before peeping into my room.
“Thank god you’re awake.” He said before walking in. He looked at Laksh who was sleeping on my lap. I blushed.
“Umm… Sorry to disturb you but, I’ve something to give you” he said softly.
“What?” I asked curiously. Maybe he and Swara are back together already and he wants to give me this good news.
“Come in” he said before two men walked in with a huge colorful box.
“Sir” they said while he nodded and they left.
“First of all, congratulations to you. And all the best because you’ll have to bear with another Laksh in some time. Girl or boy, doesn’t matter, but their father is the same. My silly stupid brother” he said as I chuckled.
“Did you just call me silly and stupid?” Laksh asked getting up from my lap and rubbing his eyes.
“Yes” Sanskar replied.
“And, here’s a small gift for you” Sanskar said.
“Small?” I asked sarcastically.It was taller than Sanskar himself.
“Wait? Are you trying to flirt with my wife?” Laksh asked hugging me from the side while Sanskar chuckled.
“No, I’m flirting with my soon to be born niece or nephew.” He snickered. “This is for him or her.” he added.
“What? A Gift for my baby? Wow?” Laksh chirped before jumping towards the huge box and practically raping it’s cover to reveal a humongous elephant.
Wait, he didn’t not gift us a real elephant. It was a stuffed toy with a huge smile on his face and cute huge eyes, eye lashes and ears. And a huge cute trunk of course. It was sitting like normal humans sit. On its bum. Hehe!
I looked at him.
” Teddy bears are quite common. And, while I was searching for a gift, I found this pretty little elephant, and I found this cute. I don’t know about you guys but your baby will surely like it” he said in one go while looking in all directions accept mine and Laksh’s. He’s such a shy sweetheart. I wonder how Swara hates him. I chuckled at his meaningless statement. He called this elephant a pretty ‘little’ elephant.
“You said that she would not like it? Eh?” Laksh asked sarcastically as Sanskar looked at the bed only to find it empty. He looked at the elephant and found me sleeping on the floor with my head on its leg, hugging his huge Tummy. He chucked.
“I’m glad you liked it.” He said.
“Huh? What kind of a brother are you? Apne Bhai ke saut ko ghar pe konsa bhai lata hai bhala?” Laksh complained while I chuckled. I love this teddy elephant.
“You better don’t trouble my sister now. If he troubles you, just give me a call and I’ll do him good okay?” Sanskar said turning to me.
Bro, please save me from your silly brother.
“Yes, he’s trying to annoy me since morning. He said that I cannot eat street food, I cannot dance, I cannot walk, or climb up and down on the stairs. He asked me to take complete bed rest for nine months. Please. Shove some sense into your brother’s brain.” I pleaded. He blinked his eyes several times before replying.
“What’s wrong In that. I fully support him in that” he replied sternly.
“Hai na? And she’s complaining since morning.” Laksh complained.
“If she disobeys you or does anything you asked her not to do, just call me up and we’ll punish her together.” He said to Laksh who gave him a hi fi.
A stared at them with a poker face. Who was I even asking for help? Laksh’s brother? No doubt they were brothers! Both are impossible!
Impossible? Well that’s an understatement. They’re more than impossible!
I sighed once again before leaning back on the elephant and closing my eyes while the two brothers hugged each other with Sanskar congratulating my husband for his achievement.
My excitement looks faint and dull in front of everyone else’s. I wonder what will be maa’s reaction. And I doubt if Laksh’s family would help me in escaping his silly rules.
I snuggle more into the elephant and drifted off to sleep. Good night. I know it’s still the evening, but anyways.
Good night to my baby in there. Momma loves you bachcha!
