Delhi Police Denies Travel Permission to Ashneer Grover and Wife Amidst Ongoing Investigation

Ashneer Grover, judge of Shark Tank India 1, and his wife, Madhuri Jain, have been denied permission to travel to the United Kingdom by the Delhi Police amid an ongoing investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The couple had requested permission to visit the London School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Warwick as guest lecturers.

Their representation, submitted to the investigation officer of the EOW in late February, sought permission for travel from March 9 to March 15. However, the request was denied after review by the investigation officer. Ashneer Grover, in response, stated that correspondence with the EOW is confidential and reiterated his cooperation with the investigation.

This development follows a previous incident in November when Ashneer Grover was prevented from traveling to the United States due to a Look-out Circular (LOC) issued against him. The couple had petitioned the Delhi High Court to quash the LOC, and the matter remains unresolved.

The investigation by the EOW stems from an FIR filed last year against Grover, former managing director of BharatPe, and other family members for alleged misappropriation of funds. The FIR includes charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.

As the investigation continues, Ashneer Grover and his wife face restrictions on their travel plans, highlighting the ongoing legal challenges they confront amidst the allegations.
