Devoleena Bhattacharjee who originally belonged to Assam is celebrating Bihu in Indonesia. The actress is missing her family on this festive occasion.
Talking about it in an interview with BT, Devoleena said, “Yes, I wish I was there, but I have this prior commitment,” she says.
Talking further about the festive occasion, she said, “This festival is all about harvesting and showing gratitude to mother earth and nature. We usually visit the temple in the morning and offer prayers and wish for a prosperous year ahead. Later, we enjoy ourselves at home with our family and friends.”
They like following all traditions, she says. “It’s been a tradition to prepare sweets, exchange gifts, and take blessings from the elders. We always start the day with a Ganesh Puja. It’s a beautiful period as the climate changes and with our celebration, we thank God, nature, and the farmers.”
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Devoleena is hoping to bag some good projects. She says, “I want to explore newer avenues and hope to get different opportunities. On the health front, I want to have good health for myself and everyone else. I am in Indonesia right now, so for me, the year has started with work, so that is a good thing. But having said that, not being able to meet family and friends on an occasion like this is also not a great situation to be in.”
