Dharm Yoddha Garud: Vishal Karwal all set to essay the role of Lord Vishnu for the sixth time

Vishal Karwal is known for essaying the role of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna in several mythological shows. Now the actor is all set to reprise the role for the show Dharm Yoddha Garud. This will be the sixth time Vishal will be essaying the role of Lord Vishnu.

In a recent interview with BT, Vishal talked about it and shared, “I am already playing Lord Vishnu in Swarna Swar Bharat and now will be seen in the same avatar in Garud. I have invariably played Lord Vishnu whenever I have essayed Lord Krishna in a show. So, in that sense, I am playing both for the sixth time in my career. It can very well be a record. I actually started enjoying acting when I essayed Lord Krishna for the first time in Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shri Krishn (2011). The process and the feeling of playing the part are unique in comparison to other characters.”

Talking about the challenges in essaying the role of a deity, he said, “You enjoy a lot more freedom while playing regular characters but people have a preconceived notion and calendar image of a Godly character. Many actors say they don’t want to play mythological characters but I genuinely believe most can’t even play them. So, I feel blessed that I am always considered for the role of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna when people make a mythological show. I put in a lot more effort when I am playing a deity, including the dialogue delivery and the body language. Also, I feel that my approach has matured and so has my understanding of these characters.”

When asked if he doesn’t wish to attempt other characters on TV, Vishal replied, “I can only choose from what I am offered. I am getting to play versatile characters in web series, but as far as TV is concerned, I have always said that for the medium to go forward, we have to come out of making shows that run indefinitely. We should now make finite series and shoot beforehand so that the quality is maintained. We should come out of the mindset that yahi chalta hai.”
