Dheeraj Dhoopar talks about his decision of quitting Kundali Bhagya: says, “It was a difficult and emotional decision”
Actor Dheeraj Dhoopar who recently quit Kundali Bhagya is currently seen in Jhalak Dikhlla Jaa 10. The actor is now all set to essay the role of a stand-up comedian in Sherdill Shergill
Dheeraj talked about it during a recent interview with ETimes TV and also shared how difficult it was to part ways with Kundali Bhagya and his character of Karan Luthra.
He said, “I am getting great reviews and reactions for the promos. I am very confident that the show will hit the right chord in the audience’s hearts. I watched a few videos of standup comedians but I am not following anyone or anyone’s style. Just to take a reference for my character, to learn body language, I watched a few videos. But I want to add my own flavor to it. We have to remember one thing, in a daily soap and we have to follow a certain script when it comes to stand-up comedy acts. I will definitely try to make people laugh when I am on stage doing a standup comedy.”
Dheeraj will be sharing the screen space with Surbhi Chandna who he has worked with in Naagin earlier. He said, “It’s been great working with Surbhi. We have been friends for two years and it has been a great journey together. It is going to be more fun as we are shooting together daily. Our show’s concept is also about the sweet banter between the two leads. I am happy we have that same chemistry in real life also.”
When asked how tough it was to part ways from Kundali Bhagya, he said, “It was a difficult decision to leave Kundali Bhagya. I was very emotional when I had to leave the show. I am still emotional about Karan Luthra. The character will always be my baby and I have spent the best moments of my life on the sets of Kundali Bhagya. Balaji is like my second home. If I get a single call from Ekta and Balaji I’ll be back in the production. Whatever I am today, people should not forget that it is because of Kundali Bhagya. I am not going to forget it ever. It was very difficult but now I have new responsibilities and I have a new character to play and I should focus on that.”
