The announcement of lead stars Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe being replaced on “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” sent shockwaves through the television industry, leaving fans and insiders alike stunned by the unprecedented move. Rarely does a show witness the sudden dismissal of its main cast members overnight, especially one as successful as “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” which continues to enjoy high TRP ratings and a dedicated fan base.
Subsequent revelations shed light on the reasons behind this drastic decision, citing Dhami’s alleged rude behavior towards the production unit and their tendency to keep the crew waiting while engaging in private conversations in their rooms. Despite repeated warnings and opportunities for improvement extended by producer Rajan Shahi, the reported misconduct persisted, prompting the decisive action.
The move garnered widespread support from industry peers, with Ekta Kapoor reportedly expressing solidarity with Shahi’s stance. Numerous producers commended the bold move, emphasizing the message it sends regarding the primacy of professionalism on set, irrespective of an actor’s status. Shahi’s decision resonated across the television landscape, sparking discussions on the importance of accountability and professionalism within the industry.
Reports suggest that Dhami and Honmukhe’s behavior, characterized by their insular dynamic and reported romantic involvement, contributed to their repeat offenses. Honmukhe’s alleged preference for Dhami’s company in the makeup room and their purported romantic relationship further compounded the situation. Additionally, Dhami’s reported dissatisfaction with the director and his purported disregard for the crew’s concerns added to the growing discontent.
As the show navigates this significant cast change, discussions surrounding professionalism and the responsibilities of actors on set have taken center stage. Shahi’s decisive action serves as a reminder of the standards expected within the industry and underscores the importance of maintaining a respectful and collaborative work environment for all involved.

I don’t watch this series, but the latest events are noticeable to everyone))) So I wonder – how many actors allow themselves to do this? Judging by the fact that now they are writing, the vision of these two seems incredible. And I would also understand if there were really very famous actors about whom one could say that they did honor to the producer by agreeing to act with him 🤭 There is clearly inflated self-esteem here. Rajan Shahi did the right thing – actors are essentially the same hired personnel as any other person who does not work for themselves, and they must obey the boss’s demands, and not set conditions for him.
