Chapter 11
Twinkle’s pov,
“Hey Twinkle di” Niki called out entering my room, “Hey” I replied smiling. “Actually I wanted to say sorry! I misunderstood your and bhaiyya’s relation” she said pouting. ‘Aww she looked so cute’ “Its Okay, don’t be sorry” I replied. “So what are you studying?” I asked her and her smile faded away. “Di.. I’m here on a vacation! No studies please!” she cribbed, “Acha.. thike hai” I said chucking at her childish antics. “Me and bhai are going out for shopping and you’re also coming with us!” Niki said excited, “No.. what will I do?” I replied “No ifs and buts, you are coming with us and that’s final!” she said strictly, “If you don’t come I’ll not talk to you” she said turning her face away, “Okay baba I’ll come with you” I said making her turn. She hugged me saying “That’s like my di!” while I just smiled. ‘She’s so cute! I guess I have found a new sister.’ “So get ready, we’ll be leaving in an hour.” She instructed me, while I just nodded with a smile.
‘In some time we started our journey to the mall. In no time we reached our destination, Niki pulled my hand and we started looking through the shops for some good stuffs. The mall was really huge, I remember the time when I had visited the mall with my mom, of course hiding from my so called dad! I was a child then and used to love shopping! My mom used to save money and take me to the mall for buying clothes for me! Mom used to buy my favourite chocolate ice cream for me and when I used to offer her my ice cream, she always refused to eat. Even if she was hungry she would deny eating my ice cream. Those days are really worth remembering. I really miss her a lot.’
‘I came out of my trance as I could feel someone touching my face. I realised it was Kunj standing in front of me wiping my tears. I didn’t even realise when my eyes welled up. We shared a deep eye lock which was broken by Niki. “Twinkle di, ye dekho! This dress looks pretty na?” she asked me showing a white netted off shoulder one piece. I smiled looking at her and showed her a thumbs up. “Mai abhi try kar ke ati hu!” Niki said rushing towards the trial room. I smiled looking at her, she was just so cute!
“Twinkle..” I heard Kunj calling me, “Hmm..” I replied, he cupped my face making me face him “Tumhari aakho mai aasu kyu the?” he asked me with his utmost concern. “Nahi kuch nahi, I guess kachra chala gaya hoga aakh mai..” I said avoiding his intense gaze at me. “Aj shaam Niki ke ghar lautne ki party hai! Usey nahi pata hai yeh,uske liye surprise hai! Tum bhi apne liye kuch choose karlo.” He said making me squeal in excitement “Sachi?” “Haa..” he said chuckling at my excitement. I felt embarrassed and looked down.
“Bhaiyya, di yeh dekho..” Niki squealed in happiness. “Wow Niki you look amazing! Seriously you look like a fairy” I complimented her.
“You’re looking great jhalli!!” Dev said teasing her. “Bhaiyya jhalli kise kaha?” Niki asked shooting daggers at him, while I could see Kunj frightened with her reaction. I could no longer control myself and I burst out into laughter. They both looked at me amazed at my reaction. “Vo..I’m sorry” I said controlling my laughter when again I could see Kunj’s intense gaze at me. I quickly looked at Niki “Acha.. now you help me choose something for myself..” I said avoiding Kunj. ‘I don’t know what has happened to him! Why is he behaving like this?!’ I quickly held Niki’s hand and dragged her to another section of clothes.
There were many beautiful gowns hanging on the shelf. It was indeed a great task to choose one of them. Niki was busy choosing one for me when Kunj held my hand and pulled me close to him. I was startled by his touch, he handed over to me a beautiful laced gown with black leaves on it. “This will look perfect on you!” he said making me turn into a hue of red. Once again he stared deep into my eyes and I felt the colour of my cheek rising. To avoid further embarrassment I turned back letting my cheeks turn red like a ripe tomato.
“Wow di.. this gown is just so beautiful! I wish I could have got this first! Vaise..nice choice!” she winked at me, appreciating my choice. Wait it’s not my choice! “You can buy this one for yourself if you want” I said trying to cheer her up. “Really di.. thank you so much! You’re the best!” she squealed in happiness forwarding her hand to take the gown, “Ruk Niki.. you have chosen one for yourself na! Let Twinkle also buy what she wants!” he said holding her hand and glaring at me. I looked down as I felt he was hurt by what I said! “Bhaiyya..” Niki cribbed while I could do nothing but admire her. “Okay, if you’ll are done with your shopping let’s go back.” Kunj said hoping to go back as soon as possible. “Bhaiyya abhi toh shopping chalu hui hai, we’re yet to buy shoes, jewellery, purse..” she said counting on her fingers like a small child. “Okay..Okay..c’mon now don’t waste your time standing here. Go and buy whatever you like” Kunj said convincing her. “Thank you bhaiyya” Niki squealed holding my hand and dragging me to another shop.

It was evening and everyone had decorated the house for the party. Niki was sleeping as she was tired. I looked at the gown again which was gifted to me by Kunj, and all the recent memories were refreshed. I blushed looking at the gown. Suddenly it struck me, ‘How can I wear all this? Usha Aunty, Kunj, Niki have really a big heart to accept me and bear all my expenses! And I’m really shameless for accepting all this! This is wrong, why will they bear me? I’m a burden on them! I should pay back in some way or the other! I cannot wear this!’ I placed the gown on the bed and wore a printed blue top pairing it with black jeans.
There was a knock on the door, and I opened it only to find Kunj standing in front of me with a weird expression. “I guess I gifted you a gown and you’re supposed to wear it now!” he said almost ordering me. “I’m sorry, I cant wear that! You all have already given me a lot! A place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, and lastly admitting me to a college and that’s more than enough. I cant accept this costly gifts from you. I dint know how will I pay your debts. You don’t even know me, still you’re doing all this for me, I’m really thankful to you, but I don’t want this costly dress, I’m happy with the normal clothes given by you.” I said almost trying to control my tears.
“How can you think like this Twinkle? You’re not a burden for us! Don’t think like that. You are like a second daughter to my mom, so please stop thinking all this! I don’t know what is your past, nor I’m interested to know that! I’m only concerned with your present you’re your future because I..I consider you as a friend. Whatever happened in your past, don’t let it affect your future. Just consider us as your new family and start your life afresh. I really can’t see you in tears, I know you cried when we were in the mall, maybe you remembered your past but please forget it. Make new memories leaving the old ones. Now go and wear this gown if you really want to repay your debts. I’m waiting for you here.” He said cupping my face.
“But..” I tried to interrupt, “You’re wearing this now, no arguments!” he said sternly wiping my unending tears. I hugged him tightly crying on his chest. “Thank you so much Kunj!” I clutched his shirt thanking him for everything. He is truly a gentlemen. I could feel him wrapping his hands around me protectively. Unknowingly I just kissed his chest for everything he has done for me.

At XYZ place,
“Yes sir, we have found her. She was in a mall accompanied with a boy of her age and a girl younger to her. We found out that she is staying with them at Sarna Mansion. I am just outside their mansion.”
“Great! I’m really glad that you have found her. Now I’ll make her life hell!”
“Aur haa sir, ghar ki sajawat dekh kar lagta hai ki aj koi party hai”
“Acha..”
“Ap kaho toh abhi utha lu use?”
“Nahi..Nahi.. abhi tumne hi toh kaha aj party hai vaha, toh sham mai ham party mai chaar chand lagayenge”
“Jaisa ap kahe sir!”
