Chapter 3
Naksh looked at Naira’s rapidly brimming eyes as he explained.
“It is a congenital heart disease. A valve defect. All the symptoms and diagnosis shows that. Her chest pains, dizzy spells, fatigue, everything denotes that.” He said. Naira had brought kaira to his hospital for her last check up before going to london.
Naksh knew Naira was going through intense pain, he himself was hurting. Kaira was like his own daughter. But he was determined to be there with them both to fight this. Naira was a strong lady who had gone through more than her share of pain and he could see that strength helping her cope this.
“What are the treatments, bhai ?!!” she asked looking at me with hope in her eyes.
“Medicines can’t cure her defective valve but medication must be taken to regulate blood pressure, reduce discomfort and also to prevent irregular heart rate. A lifetime solution to this problem is a surgery.That’s why we are going to london.” Naksh explained her calmly.
They were sitting in Naksh’s cabin and Naira sat opposite to him in a chair. Keerti had taken kaira out to get her a chocolate so that the brother and sister could talk.
Naira took a deep breath and looked at him, “Anything to save my baby, anything !!” She said.
Naksh got up from his chair and walked towards Naira. He kneeled down infront of her and wipped her tears.
” Everything would be fine. Me, mumma, papa and Keerti are coming with you to london.” He assured his sister.
“I am soo glad that I have you guys in my life. I wonder what would have happened if you were not there to support me !!” Naira said hugging Naksh and crying through the tears.
Just then kaira and Keerti entered the cabin. Both of them were laughing and giggling.
” Mumma, Keerti mami is taking us to Nani’s house. I want to meet nanu and nani. Please can we go ?!!” kaira asked oh-so-adorably.
“Yup, let’s go princess !!” Naira said faking her excitement for the sake of her daughter.
The three most important ladies in Naksh’s life waved a bye at him and left his cabin.
Naksh sat in his chair and his thoughts drifted towards kaira. In a way the little princess was as much his daughter as Naira’s. Kaira was a blessing in disguise for the childless couple.
After a miscarriage Keerti was slowly losing her jest for life. Their marriage itself was facing the strain when little kaira came bouncing into their life. Naira and Kaira were a relief for Keerti. They saved her life and marriage. And now their little girl was going through something life altering and the three of them will try their best to fight fate and get their sunshine back.
In london.
A big office building made of glass windows. Karthik was sitting in his office.
Secretary: sir.This is tht invite for the inauguration of scott automobiles ..
Secratory handes him a invitation card Kartik still busy looking into his laptop …took the letter
Kartik then read something in the invite n got furrious
Secretary: sir any problem ?
Kartik:cut this event from my schedule ryt now
Secretary: but sir
Kartik: no but !! Just cancel it
Secratary leaves
Kartik was alone in his cabin so h shouted with anger
“God! Y this …cant u see i want my life back to normal then y arent u creating favourable situation for me?!! When i left tht name ..y do people add tht to my name first tht guy in morning n now in this invitation ..i feel diagusted with it! Thts not a surname anymore ..attaching tht name tht goenka into my name is a curse!! ”
Kartik sits in delimma on his cabin couch…he is holding his head with both hands n has closed his eyes …his face shows the clear expression of anger n sadness at the same time
Flashback
Kartik: not a single word now ..enough is enough
Someone: but kittu m ur dadi wont u fogive me ..n aftr all this was for u and our family go…
Before letting her finish
Kartik: dont u dare say for good! ..i was made to believe tht atleast u wont be like others in this family but i was so wrong u r worst than the others!!! N i feel so sad tht standing here …i was being turned into one of this family’s kind!! My life has turned upside down all coz of u …never ever come infront of me ..nor try to contact
Dadi: but kittu ..i cant live without u …plz dont go
Kartik jerks her hands off him n leaves from there
Kartik comes out of the flashback hearing a knock.
Precap : kaira happy with her mamu,mami,nana n nani , glimpses of naira’s past. All of them leaving for london.
