Lovebirds Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya’s romantic trip to Italy took a horrifying turn when the couple was robbed of their valuable documents and money in Florence. The couple traveled to Italy to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary, only to find themselves in a distressing situation. They are now seeking assistance from the Indian embassy and Italian officials.
Divyanka Tripathi took to Twitter (now X) to share their ordeal and seek help from the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni. In her tweets, the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress expressed her frustration with the lack of support from local officials, stating that robberies are treated too casually in Italy.
Addressing PM Giorgia Meloni, Divyanka wrote, “Dear PM Ms @GiorgiaMeloni We were passionately touring Italy until we got robbed. Reported to the police. But robberies are being taken so casually here that we have already lost hope along with our enthusiasm. How will I & my people ever gather the courage to visit Italy again?”
In another tweet, Divyanka urged Italy to take responsibility for tourist safety. She wrote, “Our embassy is helping us, but how about Italy taking up the responsibility of safety for the tourists? It’s not only about us but cumulatively all those who save up & spend a fortune to be here.”
On July 11, 2024, Vivek Dahiya shared a video on social media showing their car with broken windows and glass pieces scattered on the seat. He explained that the thief stole their valuable documents, cash, and shopping bags, leaving behind only a suitcase with clothes and a small bag with food.
Divyanka later updated her followers, mentioning that they had filed a detailed report at the local police station.
