Drashti Dhami is enjoying the success of her digital debut show, “The Empire”. Drashti’s role of Khanzaada is being appreciated and receiving a lot of love. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she talks about how people are sending their love through calls and messages for her performance. She also mentioned that she was eagerly waiting for the show to be out and how when she bagged the show, there was a sense of relief as she did not have to hunt for projects in the pandemic.
She says that although TV made her what she is today, still many don’t watch TV as they don’t resonate with the typical daily soaps. The actress is glad that OTT as a platform is open to many now. Drishti says that she couldn’t have asked for a better debut.
Drashti speaks about the divide among actors as many have moved to OTT while some are still struggling. She also talked about how she feels about TV actors being in a rut, however, she also mentioned that she does not like that word. She further adds that it is difficult to sustain one character for years and for many actors it is a conscious decision not to opt-out, she concludes.
