Scene 1
The festival starts in the village. Durga meets with her principal and she tells her that she got an invite for a function tomorrow, they have sent a letter to her house so she has to come there and I hope you get admission in a medical school. Durga says Vikram will decide everything for me and I know he will approve of it.
Durga enters the mandir with other ladies and Aarti mistakenly drops flowers on Durga. She says maybe Maa wanted this to happen. They all do pooja together. Durga prays for her education and thinks she wants to be a partner for Anurag, she wants to marry him only.
Anurag comes to the tree area and smiles seeing Durga’s name there.
Bai meets with Vikram in the pooja. He asks why isn’t she doing pooja with the family? She says
Savitri asks Aarti if Vikram told her what Bai talked to him about? She says he never tells her anything but maybe she talked about Durga’s marriage? Savitri looks on and says she is still young and she wants to study so they shouldn’t force her to marry. Anurag and Durga are just friends. Aarti says if Bai has decided something then nobody can stop her. If Vikram decides to get Durga married then nobody can stop him, I am praying for Durga to get her chance and become a doctor, I don’t want her to live a life like me.. you know your son doesn’t give me rights as his wife, he doesn’t take decisions with me. Savitri says you will get your rights one day. Aarti asks if she got her rights ever? Savitri looks on.
Bai tells Vikram that Durga didn’t listen to them, she is getting out of hand so they should get her married her soon. Vikram says if he forces her then people might question him, elections are important to him. Bai says fine, then let your family get destroyed. If Anurag and Durga get closer then it will be troublesome. You should get her married and then she can study all she wants. Vikram says tomorrow there is a function and media will be there so I will praise Durga there. Bai says you can get her married and still help her in studying.. you will be praised so much for it. She will be married and also educated. Your son is stubborn so don’t waste time and get her married before he decides to do something.
In the function, Durga dances with her family.
Rajesh meets with Bai and Vikram in the festival. Vikram says I have something important to talk about.
Durga is looking around for Anurag and thinks where is he? what if he is near the tree? She buys a friendship band. Anubhav comes there and asks if she is buying it for him? she looks on. He says I know its for a special friend so its fine, he smiles and leaves.
Vikram tells Rajesh that he should get married. Bai says just trust us as we have found a girl for you. Rajesh says who is the girl? Vikram says its Durga, Rajesh is shocked hearing but then smirks.
