Ye daastan hai do pyaar karne walon ki, jinhe taqdeer ne juda kar diya, par pyaar ne fir se milaya…
(A tale of two lovers, who were separated by fate, but united by love…)
P. S. – ye quote maine bakayda churaya hai. Par yaad nhi aa rha kahan se.. π
Riddhima’s P. O. V.
He was in front of me, standing tall, wearing his usual aura.
I stared into his dark brown orbs. Ufff!! They have always been my weakness. His eyes have fathomless emotions surging within them, and I had always wanted to dive in.
I was still gawking at him when realisation dawned upon me. There was nothing left between us. It was all over.
I was all drenched in the rain. After so many years, it was the first time I was thankful to God. The raindrops and my tears merged and it was difficult to spot that I was crying.
He, being a gentleman, offered to share his umbrella. But I declined… Usual stubborn me.
He rolled his eyes in annoyance but I was no less. Without even looking at him, I walked away.
He followed me hastily. Indeed, I walk fast, given I had been the gold-medalist in races. But he was always a spoilsport, acting feverish whenever it came to the sports lesson. I found his antics cute, I wonder why.
Shrugging off my thoughts, I walked into the building. I was least bothered by his presence, but surely could sense him around.
Before the lift could shut, he hurried in. Now, this was the last strand of grass for my patience to give up.
“Kya hai?”, I snapped at him.
Instead of replying, he came closer and caged me within his arms.
“Vansh, ch..chhodo mujhe.”, I struggled in his grip while he was staring straight into my eyes, with unknown emotions.
Vansh’s P. O. V.
I noticed from the long skirt and full sleeved shirt she wore that, she had…changed.
Though she’s 23 and I’m 27, I appear to be 20, as dapper as ever, afterall I have my own clothing brand, but she?
She goddamn looks like my old school historyΒ teacher!
In old times, she would dress up like a doll. With her hair braided, she looked as cute and adorable as ever.
People would surely laugh if I said that aloud. Afterall, Vansh Raisinghania has other words in his dictionary too, except for bloodshed and betrayal.
But her eyes… her eyes still hold love for me. She’s still affected by my presence.
Isme mere dil ki hai galti ya nazron ki hai khata,
Ye to main nhi sakta hoon bata,
Par tum kuch badal se gye ho.
Na tere hoton par hai vo hasee,
Jis par hum hote the afreen.
Na tere chehre par hai vo noor,
Jiske saamne feeka tha kohinoor.
Par teri ankhen karti hai bayan,
Jaise, hume bichde hue ho gyi sadiyaan.
Suddenly, it started raining. It was a heavy downpour.
I gestured her to come under my umbrella. I could spare some space for her and moreover, the idea itself sounds romantic.
Rain, a girl and a boy, one umbrella, and then…stuff, you know.
But this girl is way too stubborn, the reason I call her Ziddhima.
She looked like a mini panda, the adorable, grumpy one.
She had gained weight maybe or was her dress too loose?
Everything seemed blur, but I knew… I knew she was crying, but it was difficult to tell why?
Does she hate me to the extent that she can’t even bear my sight or…does she…
I came out of my thoughts and realised that she had walked away. I quickly ran after her retreating figure and somehow managed to get into the lift.
Riddhima’s P. O. V.
I was repeatedly hitting his chest in an attempt to free myself, but this monster won’t budge a bit.
I have always imagined him as the protagonist of the Vampire stories I read. He looks devilishly handsome, indeed. Whether it’s his perfectly set hair, his dark brown eyes, or the mischievous smirk he plays on his lips. Everything about him is so majestic, so devilish, yet, my heart craves for him.
His hot breaths falling on my face brought me back from my la la land.
What does he think of himself?
With all my might, I pushed him but at the same time, he backed off, but held me in reflex, resulting in me falling over him.
God! His back must be hurting. How stupid I am!
Tears threatened to appear in my eyes.
But he didn’t wince a bit. Is he an Iron man or what?
I agree he’s good at masking his emotions but…wait!
It struck my mind that maybe I’m not that fat. I was on cloud nine, he indirectly said that I was as light as a feather, if not from his mouth, then his eyes.
The lift beeped open and I saw a horrified Mrs. Bhalla staring at us, her mouth agape.
I realised I was still on top of him and quickly got up, trying not to make eye-contact with him or I would end up in my dreamland.
“Riddhi, do you know this guy or is he troubling you?”
“No, aunty. It’s nothing like that.”, I answered, tucking the wet strands of hair behind my ear.
“Fear not, child. Tell me if something’s wrong. I’ll surely teach him a lesson if he’s -“
“No, no, aunty. I know him. He’s my friend. Coincidentally, we met today after years and he was all dripping. So, I offered him to stay at my place.”
“Ohh! Ok bachcha. Sorry child, I got you wrong.”, she said looking at Vansh, who flashed a wide, fake smile at her.
“Go child, change your clothes or you’ll get ill. If you need anything, just call me and I’ll help you.”, she patted my cheeks and went towards the stairs.
Wait! She could use the lift too. Anyways!
I guided him to my apartment and then began scanning my wardrobe.
Not for me, I ain’t that choosy. But, for him. I couldn’t possibly let him shiver all night.
Finally, I found a unis*x lower and a brand new shirt, the one I had bought a week ago,on the birthday of one of my male colleagues. Then I decided to gift him a watch but forgot to return the shirt.
Handing him the clothes and a towel, I went in the washroom to have aΒ bath.
The warm water made me relax and I realized that, I left my clothes on the bed.
Oh god! Why me?
I was cursing my fate when I heard a knock on the door.
“Ahem…You…left your clothes outside.”, he spoke nervously.
Ok now, his cute gestures drive me crazy.
I quickly grabbed my clothes from his hand and muttered a ‘thank you’.
We decided to watch a comedy movie. He was reluctant at first, but gave up at my innocence.
I did not want to cry aloud in front of him.
I was laughing and crying at the same time. He couldn’t make out whether the tears were of happiness, or I was really crying.
Finally, his patience gave up and he initiated the conversation.
Vansh’s P. O. V.
“Riddhima… I-“
The moment I stopped, she looked at me, teary-eyed.
I knew her façade would end sooner or later, and it did.
She was crying inconsolably. The remote fell from her hands and a romantic music played.
Kabhi jo baadal barse,
Mai dekhu tujhe aankhein bharke..
Tu lage mujhe pehli
Baarish ki dua…
Tere pehlu mein reh lu,
Main khud ko paagal keh lu
Tu gum de mai khushiyaan
Seh lu saathiyaan..
I took her in my embrace, hugging her tightly, as if there was no tomorrow.
“I love you, Mr. Raisinghania.”, she sniffled.
And I realized that, I loved her too.
Apke ishq ne hume aise manzar par laake kar diya khada,
Jahan jeena tha mushkil aur marna bhi tha gunah…
Par ehsaas hua ki ishq to hume bhi hai,
Isiliye to hum jeete hain apke liye,
Aur marte hain aap par.
(This is bakwaas, isiliye to hai ye khaas…π )
