Ek Ajeeb Prem Kahaani (OS)

I tried something different today. I hope you guys like this story. It’s not your typical love story….it’s an ajeeb prem kahaani….

EK AJEEB PREM KAHAANI

“What is love?”
An old lady is shown lying on the bed with her eyes closed. A young man is sitting holding her hand. The man is revealed to be Kunj. Kunj moves slowly like a robot. Gently, he lets go of the lady’s hand and speaks…in a monotone voice.
Kunj (like a robot)- Control panel…replay love story. Replay love story of Twinkle and Kunj.
Some mechanical sounds come out of Kunj. His eyes turn blue as he sees some old flashbacks and memories.

FLASHBACK

A girl was trying to cross a busy street. As she tried crossing, cars zoomed passed her, occasionally honking at her. As she was crossing, a truck started driving towards her in full speed. One second the truck was mere inches away from the girl, and the next second she was standing on the other side of the street. Trying to fathom what had just happened, the girl looks up to see a man looking straight at her.
Girl (breathing heavily)- What just happened? Was that u? How did u get me here in one second?
Man- My speed is one second. My job is saving life.
The girl was confused.
Girl- Oh hello mister! Why are you speaking like a robot? Who are you?
Man- I am artificial intelligence.
Girl- I asked for your name.
The man thought for a while.
Man- Name? Serial number 243107
Girl- Screw dila hai kya?
The girl started walking away.
Girl (mumbling)- Looks like everyone is going crazy.
The girl arrived at her house only to see the same man standing right in front of her door.
Girl- Tum! U followed me all the way to my house? U followed Twinkle Taneja!

So the girl is Twinkle.
Man- My job is saving life.
Twinkle- Ok thank u so much for saving my life. Now please save ur life and go to a mental hospital. U are crazy.
Man- No not crazy. Artificial Intelligence.
Twinkle- So what are you? A robot?
Man- Yes…robot….serial number 243107.
Twinkle sighs.
Twinkle- Ok whatever. Please move.
She holds his arm to move him away from the door but is surprised at the feeling.
Twinkle- What the….
Twinkle starts feeling the guy’s arm.
Twinkle- Ur arm is so hard! It’s like metal!
Man- Yes metal.
Twinkle is shocked.
Twinkle- No way! U can’t be a robot!
Man- Yes. Artificial Intelligence. Serial number 243107.
Twinkle covers her mouth in disbelief.
Twinkle- WHAT!

Twinkle ushers the robot into her house. She makes him sit on the sofa. Twinkle jumps on the sofa and sits with her legs crossed. She places her chin in her palm and looks eagerly at the robot.
Twinkle- Now tell me ur story. How are u here? Who made you? And how do u look exactly like a human?
The robot thinks.
Robot- My creator made me for the better of the world. My job…to save lives. Serial number 243107. But…
Twinkle- But…
Robot- Blast in laboratory. My creator gone. I escape. My job is to save life. I will save ur life.
Twinkle is awestruck.
Twinkle- So ur in the world just alone?
Robot- Alone? What is that?
Twinkle- Don’t u have any human characteristics besides this hot face?

(It is Sidhant’s face).

Robot- My job…
Twinkle- Yea yea to save life, I know. By the way Mr. Serial number 3492…
Robot- Serial number 243107.
Twinkle- 2431….I’ll just call u Kunj. From now on, ur new name is Kunj.
Robot- Kunj…
Twinkle- And u don’t have anywhere to stay right? U will stay with me from now on. I can’t believe it! I’m living with a robot!
Twinkle jumps in excitement.
Kunj looks at her in confusion.
Kunj- Cannot detect emotion. Don’t understand.
Twinkle- Offo! U r creator didn’t give you any emotions? It’s ok. I will teach you.
Twinkle smiles.
Twinkle- This is a smile. I smile when I am happy.
Kunj looks intently at her smile. He reaches out and touches her lips Then he touches his own lips and smiles, showing his teeth. Twinkle laughs.
Kunj- Ur name?
Twinkle- Oh right I forgot to mention. I am the great Twinkle Taneja.
Kunj- Twinkle….Twinkle has a beautiful smile.
Twinkle- How do u know what beautiful is? Ur creator didn’t give u any emotions.
Kunj- Creator give one emotion before blast…..love.
Twinkle- Love? Wow…ur creator was impressive.

As the days passed, Twinkle and Kunj developed a great bond. Twinkle taught many new emotions to Kunj, who tried to become more like a human, day by day.
Twinkle- Kunj, today u will learn about anger.
Kunj- Anger…
Twinkle- Yes anger. When I don’t like something that u did or I am upset at you, I will be mad and show anger.
Twinkle fakes anger and turns away from Kunj. Kunj tilts his head and witnesses Twinkle. He also turns his back towards Twinkle.
Kunj- Twinkle?
Twinkle- Yes?
Kunj- When is anger finished? I don’t….like anger.
Twinkle- U know Kunj, every time I would be angry, my friend would always give me a tight hug and not let go until I was calmed down.
Kunj- Hug?
Twinkle gives Kunj a quick hug.
Twinkle- That is a hug. But that is another lesson for another time.
Suddenly Kunj gives Twinkle a bone crushing hug. Twinkle was surprised. Kunj’s force was taking her breathe away.
Twinkle (struggling)- Kunj….let…me….go…
Kunj let Twinkle go.
Kunj- I give Twinkle a tight hug. She is not angry anymore right?
Twinkle laughs. She pulls Kunj’s cheeks.
Twinkle- Awww u are too cute. I am not angry anymore. See?
Twinkle smiles. Kunj smiles back at her.

One day, Twinkle was watching a movie, while crying. Kunj sat next to her, baffled at the tears running down Twinkle’s cheeks. After the movie ended, Twinkle was still crying. Kunj reached out and wiped Twinkle’s tears. Twinkle looked at him lovingly.
Kunj- Tears are sad. I don’t like when Twinkle is sad.
Twinkle- I’m not sad. I was just watching The Titanic.
Kunj looks at the laptop screen.
Kunj- Movie?
Twinkle- Yes. It’s a love story.
Kunj looked back at the screen which showed the main characters kissing.
Kunj- Is that love?
Twinkle’s cheeks turn red as she gathers herself to explain love to Kunj.
Twinkle- Yes. That is love. Don’t u have the emotion for love already?
Kunj- Yes. Kunj…loves….Twinkle.
Twinkle was surprised.
Twinkle- What?
Kunj- Kunj…loves…Twinkle.
Twinkle’s eyes water as she looks at Kunj. She suddenly hugs him.
Twinkle- This is a hug.
Kunj hugs Twinkle back.
Kunj- Hugging is love?
Twinkle smiles then breaks the hug.
Twinkle- Yea. U can say so.
Kunj points at the screen.
Kunj- And that. That is love?
Twinkle nods.
Twinkle- That is also love.
Kunj- So we can do that?
Twinkle blushes. Slowly she nods. Kunj leans in towards her. He replicates the couple on screen and cups Twinkle’s cheek. Slowly, he captures her lips with his. Twinkle was surprised by the softness of his lips. For a second, she felt as though they were human lips that were made just for her.
Years pass with this bond. The two found happiness in each other and didn’t need anything else. Days passed, then months, then years. Along with it, Twinkle also aged, leaving Kunj in the same state as he was before. As Twinkle grew old, she became feeble, yet Kunj did not leave her side. Kunj held Twinkle’s hand as she laid on the bed. (The old lady from the beginning is revealed to be Twinkle).
Twinkle- I love you Kunj.
Kunj- I…..love…..you….Twinkle…..
Twinkle smiled then closed her eyes for the last time.

FLASHBACK ENDS

Kunj looks at Twinkle’s lifeless body. He leans in and kisses her forehead.
Kunj- Job well done Serial number 24….no….Kunj. Twinkle’s life saved. Twinkle and Kunj’s love story finished. Now time for me to go.
Kunj once again holds Twinkle’s hand. A tear drops from his eye as it sparks against his skin.
Kunj- Control panel……….shut down….
Kunj shuts down forever, still holding the hand of his love, Twinkle.
