Rama said that Bhim Rao didn’t leave anything instead Joshi had to leave college. Jijabai asked her to stay silent. Joshi said that she speaks a lot. Rama said that she doesn’t speak much, Bhim Rao went to the governor, and they will return back to their house. Joshi wondered how Rama being a lower caste had such blind faith. Rama told him that she was a wife, it doesn’t have any caste. She believed that her husband won’t return empty handed. Bhim Rao came. Rama asked if they got the permission. Bhim Rao denied. Rama asked why, they were supposed to help like Guruji sad. Bhim Rao informed that they couldn’t meet the Governor. Joshi said that the Governor won’t meet the lower cast, asked Bhim Rao to handle her wife, she was also a lower caste like her husband. Joshi left. Anand inquired. Ramji said that the peon gave us n appointment after three months, he wanted to go inside forcefully but Bhim Rao stopped him. Jijabai insulted Bhim Rao, Ramji silenced her. Jijabai argued that Bhim Rao was the reason Ramji couldn’t go inside to meet the Governor, she complained about being misunderstood every time. Meera said that Bhim Rao’s never wrong. Bhim Rao stopped Ramji after realizing something. Ramji and Jijabai inquired. Bhim Rao said that the peon threatened to call the police. Lakshmi replied that he didn’t do anything wrong how could do the police do them any harm. Bhim Rao said that the respect of Ramji’s uniform would have been murdered, he wanted to safeguard it like Bhima Bai wanted to. She loved Ramji in his uniform, it made him a better man, made him feel better about himself. Bhim Rao didn’t want police to humiliate Ramji. He was the only one there to protect the uniform hence he did. Bhim Rao went aside and sat down. Meera said that Bhim Rao kept the uniform’s honor. Ramji said to Bhim Rao that his family’s tension surpassed his uniform’s honor, he wanted whatever he could to meet the Governor. Bhim Rao said that he has figured out how to meet the Governor.
At midnight, Ramji along with the family went outside Governor’s house and sang their medley. The guards called the peon. Peon asked them to leave, Bhim Ro resisted. Peon ordered the guards to beat them. The governor watched them from the balcony, a guard stopped them. He said that Governor has asked to call them inside. peon said that Governor was a Britisher, he didn’t know anything about the caste system. People of such lower caste can not be asked to go inside such luxurious house. Bhim Rao said that they will go inside, as they have been asked to.
They went inside. Governor praised their singing, asked them to sit. They sat on the floor. Governor asked them to sit on couch, they leaned forward. Peon stopped them. He explained to the Governor that these people belong to lower caste, they can not be asked to sit otherwise they would have to clean it thoroughly. Bhim Rao said that they have came here with a problem. Governor asked them to sit out first and then talk. Ramji told him how their landlord threw them out of their house for being a lower caste, they treat them like animals. Landlord threw them out because Bhim Rao studied with his nephew who despised studying with a lower caste. Peon supported the landlord. Bhim Rao argued that the landlord brought them on streets on basis of class conflict which was wrong just like the peon didn’t allows them to meet the Governor earlier today. Bhim Rao further explained how Joshi took their opportunity to live in a house by offering landlord more money. Rama stood up and said that they also threw garbage at them. Governor asked how he could help them. Ramji asked him to a spokesperson for them, an influence who other will follow. Ramji told him that he was a retired officer, served the country for many years and now he has no place to take his family to. Bhim Rao said that he wanted Governor to help them get their house back, a place they could live and fight their war from. Governor was their only help.
