Bhima massages his mother’s head while Manjula goes to grind medicine for her. Tulsa gives the bowl of turmeric to Bhimbai. Bala ties a piece of cloth on his mother’s forehead tightly. Bhimbai applies turmeric on Bhima’s swollen hands. How was your exam? He says good. Forget that and rest. Manjula brings medicine for Bhimbai but she asks all the kids to stand before her. I have to tell you something. She speaks to them in order. You (Bala) are the eldest. Stay as an elder one. They are your responsibility after me. He requests her not to use those words. Bhimbai tells Anand to focus on studies and look after Bhima. She tells Manjula that she will be the mother of her siblings after her. Take good care of everyone and be a good DIL when you go to your home. She tells Tulsa to listen to her sister. Bhimbai tells Bhima not to fall weak once she is gone. Ganga reaches there just then. She hugs her mother and cries. Baba sent me a message. Please say that it is a lie. Bhimbai smiles. I really wanted to see you for one last time and you are here. Ganga requests her not to say it. Bhimbai decides to cook food for everyone. The girls help her in the kitchen. Ganga hugs Meera and cries.
Bhima runs off to meet Guru ji. Anand and Bala go after him. Guru ji asks Bhima what happened. Bhima says you are well read. Has anyone been able to stop death ever? Tell me. I will save my Aayi if it’s possible. Guru ji replies that this is the last truth of life. Bhima asks him if that truth is bigger than his mother for his mother. Guru ji nods. Death is above every relation. Bhima demands to know the reason behind it. Bala tells him not to do this. We are helpless now. We should spend every passing second with Aayi now.
Bhimbai and the kids feed each other food emotionally. Bhimbai tells Bhima to learn to eat on his own now. He makes her let go of her hand.
Bhimbai looks exhausted by the night. Everyone is sitting around her. Your Baba has not come till now. She notices Bhima looking at her and asks him what he has to say. Bhima looks at her sadly. Now that we are losing time, we feel as if we couldn’t do anything for you. She hugs him. You are young so you are unable to understand it. The one who takes birth must leave this world one day. You don’t come or leave this world with someone. You don’t have to cry. You have to do a lot for others. Keep fulfilling our dreams. I wont be there yet you must not give up! She is having trouble breathing.
Ram ji returns home. Everyone has fallen asleep except Bhimbai. She goes to speak to him after putting Bhima to bed. What did doctor say? Ram ji takes her outside. Bhimbai asks her husband if she will fulfil her last wish. Please wear your uniform once. I don’t think I will be able to see tomorrow’s sunrise. He asks her why she is saying so. She says Vaid ji told me to understand the signal once I vomit blood. I want to see my Subedar sahib in his uniform once. He gives in. I will do it but you too must dress up like a new bride for me.
Bhimbai and Ram ji get ready. She smiles at him after getting ready. I am dressed like your bride. He smiles. I became your Subedar too. She is not able to stand straight. He becomes emotional and hugs her. They sit outside. She requests him to marry again once she is gone. He refuses. No one can take Bhimbai’s place in my life. She reasons that kids will need an Aayi. Promise me you will get married again. He refuses but she keeps asking him to promise her. He walks away a little. She stands up with great difficulty and falls in his arms. Ram ji shouts her name. Everyone rushes to her side and is in for a shock. Bhimbai asks the kids to call Meera. Bala and Ganga bring her outside. Ram ji tells Bala to call Vaid ji but Bhimbai stops him. You all should stay near me now. Bhimbai tells Meera it’s time. Kids shout in disbelief. Everyone thinks of how Bhimbai has always been on their side. Everyone is in tears. Bhimbai says I always wanted to die as a married woman and take my last breath in your lap. I will go peacefully now. Kids request her not to say it. Bhimbai tells Bhima that Bhimrao Ambedkar does not look good while crying. He tells her he wont. Just stay with us. She tells him to continue his fight and get their caste out of this hell. Keep fighting against all odds. He agrees. Don’t leave us though. Bhimbai says has any Aayi ever left their kids till date that she will do it today. She breathes her last. Ram ji is stunned into silence for a second. He calls out to her. Kids shout Aayi but Bhimbai is no more. Meera closes her eyes. Everyone breaks down.
Precap: Sakpal family is distraught. Bhima refuses to let Bhimbai go anywhere. It is ok if she wont say anything. She can atleast stay here. Ram ji tells Puranjan it’s time to do her last rites. They begin to go but villagers refuse to let them burn Bhimbai’s dead body in their village.
