The man stands with a stick in his hand asks only that person to step forward who will accept David’s unborn child and guarantees a normal life for that child. This celebration cannot defy the reality of that child. Arti stops the man; she refuses to listen to another word against her child. The man questions, her anger will not stop anyone and their taunts. He agrees with Arti and her motherly love, but time will teach the child and her and this world in not meant for him. Time will make her realize why she didn’t kill the child when had the opportunity. Bhim Rao asks the man his identity. Policeman question Joshi who the guy was, wonders if he is David’s man. Shoba asks the man if that guy is sent by David. The man asked them to call her with any name they like. His mother was someone like Arti, who gave birth to him despite everything, but the world never accepted him. His own casts members refused to accept him; his life became a joke to him. He does not intend bad, just doesn’t want another child to be born and suffer like him. That child will bare more troubles for living. Hitesh and Jijabai agree with the man. Shoba will make sure to give Arti’s child a life he deserves. Bhim Rao said that the child will struggle to live, just like the lower caste does. The man argues, a nameless child has no caste. The lower caste at least has a name, a land, and an identity to fight for. All of which he and all other nameless children done get. Arti is determined to give birth to her child and will kill herself if anyone stops her. After giving birth she will test whether her child will live normally or not. The man argues, he wonders how to explain it to him. Arti begs the man to leave for his mother’s sake. The man invites Arti to come with him to a small village created by sons like him and mothers like Arti. Bhim Rao asks the man to leave, he will handle the rest. Shoba requests the man to leave as well. The man put his stick and shawl at the front door of the chawl. He turns to Arti saying that to kill the child was a better option, but she can do what she pleases. If at any point life becomes hard for Arti, she may take the stick and the shawl with her, his people will find her. In his opinion, it is better for Arti to leave this place, for herself and the people.
