Ekta Saraiya opens up on the reason behind quitting ‘Anupamaa’ for ‘Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai’; calls it a Positive Shift

Actress Ekta Saraiya, previously known for her role in ‘Anupamaa,’ has embarked on an intriguing journey as she takes on a new character in ‘Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai.’ In a recent interview, Ekta revealed the reasons behind her departure from ‘Anupamaa’ and the exciting opportunities that led her to this new venture.

Ekta candidly shared, “I had a fulfilling role in ‘Anupamaa,’ but the show had multiple storylines running concurrently. During that time, I received an offer for ‘Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai,’ which is scheduled to air seven days a week. Balancing both shows simultaneously became a challenging task. The production team of ‘Anupamaa’ was incredibly understanding and supportive of my dual commitments, but I realized that focusing on both shows was not feasible. I parted ways with ‘Anupamaa’ on an amicable note, feeling grateful for the opportunity to work on a Rajan Shahi production.”

Despite the transition, Ekta Saraiya acknowledges the bond she shared with her former ‘Anupamaa’ team. She reflected, “Alpana Buch, known as Baa in the show, and I are neighbors residing in the same building. We share a close friendship, and I had the privilege of playing her daughter on-screen.”

Now, Ekta is thrilled to be part of ‘Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai,’ where she portrays a character with shades of gray. She expressed her enthusiasm for playing antagonistic roles, stating, “I have a fondness for portraying negative characters. I previously played a negative role in ‘Hamari Devrani’ as well. I believe there’s more room for exploration when embodying negative roles compared to positive characters, allowing me to showcase a wider range of emotions and complexities.”

Ekta Saraiya’s transition from ‘Anupamaa’ to ‘Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai’ marks a positive shift in her career, promising viewers an exciting and multifaceted performance in her new role.
