Erica Fernandes opens up about childhood struggle with Dyslexia: “Words on the Board Used to Dance”
In a candid revelation, popular Indian television actress Erica Fernandes shared her experience with dyslexia during a recent podcast. Known for her role in the hit series Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Erica stunned fans with her candid admission about the childhood disorder.
Erica recounted, “I am dyslexic. Everything that was written on the board used to dance before my eyes. Even now, sometimes when I see words, I feel like they should be spelled correctly, but something feels off. There’s a sense that something is wrong about it. I am a visual learner. I observe a lot, which is why I don’t read much. However, I can learn by listening and watching. I wasn’t very focused on my studies. I used to study only a day or two before exams. As a result, I was an average student, usually ranking within the top 10 in school.”
Despite her struggles, Erica has carved out a successful career in the entertainment industry. She has recently shifted her base to Dubai and occasionally travels back to India for work commitments. The actress has also ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing her own production and event management company to pursue her creative aspirations.
Erica’s journey, both in her personal life and professional career, has been shaped by her experiences and challenges. Embracing the best of both worlds, she continues to grow as an individual, gaining a unique perspective on life and how she approaches her endeavors.
