Dancer turned actor Faisal Khan was recently in Lucknow for the promotion of his new show Dharm Yoddha Garud.
In an interview with BT, Faisal talked about his journey so far and shared, “I had a simple life and did not have such high dreams. I was always fond of dancing and joined dance classes. I didn’t dream of becoming an actor but the opportunity came suddenly and now it feels like how it had to happen. I dreamt of becoming a choreographer and when I started acting, people loved my work which made me more confident. Acting came organically to me and it feels amazing when I think about how this happened.”
Talking about his love for singing, the actor said, “I have recently started my singing journey as well as I had a habit of musing for a long time. I have started singing a few cover songs along with that I also love to rap. I’ve been writing a few songs and I want to start my singing journey just like my acting career.”
When asked about his role in the show Dharm Yoddha Garud, he shared, “I have done mythological shows in the past so going for a show like Garud was not difficult for me. Wearing wigs, speaking dialogues in chaste Hindi, and carrying the costumes and makeup were quite easy for me during the shooting of this show. I am very much comfortable in historical and mythological shows. This show is related to Garud Puran and shows the love between Garud and his mother. Garud is a very strong and confident character. He blindly trusts his mother and is very obedient to her. It is a very inspiring character and every age group of audience can learn from the show.”
He added, “I had various offers for saas-bahu sagas but did not get the character that I wanted. I want to do a daily soap like Naagin which has love stories of main characters. I feel like the king of the jungle and I own this place while working on mythological and historical shows. But yes, in the future, I would love to do daily soaps.”
When asked about his relationship status, Faisal replied, “As of now I am single and not dating anyone. To be honest, I have recently had a breakup. I am still trying to get over it as it’s been around a few weeks only.”
