Sony SAB’s new show Dharm Yoddha Garud went on-air just this week. The show is based on the story of the mighty king of birds, Garud ( essayed by Faisal Khan) who exhibited extreme courage to free his mother Vinta (essayed by Toral Rasputra) from slavery.
Faisal Khan who is essaying the lead role of Garud in the show talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “The story of Garud is essentially about a son’s undying devotion for his mother. Garud, unlike his nemesis, had no greed or hunger for power. He didn’t use his powers to kill or conquer; he just wanted to free his mother from the shackles of slavery and torture. At a time when integrity was hard to find, Garud proved to be the ideal son, the noble being who went against all odds to earn back the freedom for his innocent mother, Vinta. He was not only strong but intelligent and used his wit in the most innovative ways to turn things in his favor. Toral as Vinta is wonderful and she fits the role perfectly. It is great fun shooting with her. Since we share a good rapport offscreen, I feel that shall also reflect in the show. Our director told us on the first day on set that we look like a real-life mother-son duo and that made my day. This is a story no one has heard before and I can promise the audience won’t be disappointed when Garud comes alive on screen.”
Toral Rasputra who essays the role of Vinta also added to the conversation and shared, “Vinta’s struggle is Garud’s pain. That is how deep a bond they share. Although Vinta seems to have accepted her cursed fate, Garud leaves no stones unturned to change that and give her the life she deserves. Being learned and intelligent herself, she prepares Garud for the world and gives him the gift of knowledge and a sense of direction. With Vinta by his side, Garud goes on to achieve the impossible. But how this adventure unfolds is a spectacle in itself and I would urge the audience to tune in to Sony SAB and shower their love on Dharm Yoddha Garud!”
