Finding the Love – Part 4

Finding the Love – part 4

His eyes shot open with the ringtone, who was calling this early” he though to himself sighting the clock setting on 6 am. Adjusting his eyes to the bright screen of his phone he tried to get who was on line and he felt bad seeing the name flashing before his eyes because he felt he was hurting her.

Ashna…

Sitting up properly he called her back as the call got disconnected before he could have taken the call, she replied in the second ring itself.

“sorry ,if I disturbed you but you were so hard to contact.”

“yeah,I am sorry about that. I returned just yesterday.”

“you tell, was there something important you called me this early.” He asked rubbing his eyes.

“can we meet today if you are free?”

“ummmm, I will tell you as I reach office, now can’t say anything.”

“okay, I’ll wait for the call.”

“bye then”

“wait…..” she suddenly stopped him.

“yeah….”he waited.

“nothing…. I’ll wait for your call.”

How could she possibly behave that way? But with each passing day her hopes were dimming, her sister had already declared her he was not going to stay for her, he was always distant to her and it would never change but having masters in astrophysics and with a lot of practicality in her life she still waited for some miracle.

Today she again wanted a hope and that’s why she wanted to meet him. Unknown to him she was silently attracted to him from always and the agreement of both the families from the very start fueled her steps.

“Krishna, I am telling you this cause he sincerely wants to be with you, don’t you see how honest his eyes are.” Her mother told her as she sat with her on the kitchen table.

“ma, do you think it’s easy?” she said concentrating on the screen before her eyes. Her eyes scanning the fluctuations in the market, being a stock broker she needed to be up to date every time to help her clients.

“but girl, we should hug the opportunities and not let them go….you will regret after 20 or 30 years that you should have given him a chance.” The old eyes looked the stubborn face sighing.

“There is a girl his mother selected for him and they are waiting for his yes from 5 years.” She said nonchalant about it.

“Do you really think he would marry her when he always thought you his match?” her mother  asked and she looked up.

“did he tell you this ?” she was surprised.

“I also know his mother wanted you for him but…. She stopped.

“ma, let’s not talk about this….please.” she requested her mother.

“granny, have you seen Paps got me this ?” came the life of both the ladies showing them the whole set of tracks, carriers and engine of the toy train she has gotten this morning beside her.

“No no, show me my girl.” old lady started in a kiddy voice and both got busy in the toy and here she looked at her daughter who was getting attached to him too much.

“Mr. Srivastava ,Sir is calling you in his cabin.” told the lean lady from reception.

“okay,” muttering he took the reports and his pen drive for the presentation of his project in Germany  to his boss .

Entering in the cabin he greeted the man in his late 50s and the man smiled to him and gestured to have a seat.

“The company personals are very happy with your work Sayyam and they are thinking for a plan that will be beneficial for company and for you too.” He said as he they settled properly.

“thank you sir, I am happy if they feel so.” He smiled.

“I don’t have to go through the reports I have already received many calls about your work.”the man kept the files aside. “Actually they have a proposal for you..”

He waited for the man to continue.

“they want you to work in the branch we are going to collaborate in Germany and lead the office till it gets into the pace and then you can return back.” He completed.

“it’s a big opportunity sir, I’ll surely be working ,but sir if it would be okay that I need time to think about it.” He asked honestly. “I need to discuss it with my family.”

“yeah yeah, you have time. Ask your mother and actually marry first and then take your mother and your wife this beautiful country.” The old man suggested fatherly.

“ha-ha…yes sir, I’ll.” He answered. “So if it’s done, should I leave sir?”

Coming out of the cabin he suddenly thought he was running out of time, he had to decide fast. And suddenly he recalled he had to meet someone.

sorry I couldn’t call you but I have texted the place…meet me at 5” and chucked his phone on his desk and resting on the chair kept his elbows on the desk and thought about one memory.

“Do you love sailing the waters or it’s just a coincidence we are meeting again?” he asked.

“I guess it’s a coincidence because it’s the first time I am sailing the waters.” Said the girl who was perhaps a little hot headed. “Besides I would love feeling the bricks of European gothics rather than flowing with the waters.”

She was different and he felt his mother was right, in that simple floral print churidar she was the ordinary girl but in her big eyes he saw fire, fire of searching her path herself.

“But don’t you think, destiny wants us to meet.” He asked looking to her.

“Destiny is already predicated, what is the good in thinking about it, it will happen if it’s meant to.” She had said going to the far corner of the long boat.

“Where has that girl gone Krishna, see destiny is calling you and you not hearing the calls.” He said glancing at his watch.
