Gauahar Khan comes out in support of wrestler Vinesh Phogat; writes, “These athletes have brought India pride, they are being manhandled”
Gauahar Khan is someone who never minces her words when it comes to expressing her thoughts on current events. The actress recently shared a video of wrestler Vinesh Phogat crying during a protest in Delhi. For the unversed, on Wednesday, a brief brawl erupted at Jantar Mantar between protesting wrestlers and Delhi Police. Vinesh Phogat burst into tears while addressing the press conference.
Gauahar came out in her support and shared the video of the wrestlers and wrote, “If this doesn’t break ur heart, then ur probably a non-living thing. These athletes have brought India pride on international levels, and they are being manhandled, sad !!!!! They are fighting for justice, pls listen to their plight! #indianwrestlers #pride”
During her interaction with media, Vinesh Phogat shared, “That Brijbhushan, who has done several misdeeds is sleeping peacefully at his home, and here we are even struggling to sleep on roads. Is this the day we brought medals for the country for.”
Wrestlers have been protesting against politician Brijbhushan Sharan Singh for several days. They have also alleged that Delhi Police officers misbehaved and assaulted female wrestlers.
Vinesh also claimed that a Delhi Police officer used disrespectful remarks towards her and also battered her brother.
