Gauravv Mukesh and Rajshri Rani welcomed their baby boy in February, and their lives now revolve around their son. Reflecting on his new role as a father, Gauravv, who will soon appear in Maati Se Bandhi Dor, shares, “Becoming a father has brought many changes into my life. While I always had a sense of responsibility due to my upbringing in a joint family, fatherhood has heightened this sense. My priorities have shifted significantly. Now, after a shoot, my first thought is to see and spend time with my child. This change has caused some adjustments in my relationship with Rajshri, as she sometimes feels she’s not my top priority anymore.”
Gauravv continues, “Earlier, I would come home and share my day with Rajshri. Now, my focus is on spending time with my son. Since our child is young, I can talk to Rajshri during the day, but I can’t do that with him. So, I spend all my home time playing with him, watching him, and talking to him. The ‘us’ time between Rajshri and me has decreased. Balancing time for each other and our child within the same 24 hours is challenging. Our busy schedules mean we sometimes miss out on the spontaneous outings we used to enjoy. Now, our baby comes first in everything.”
Gauravv Mukesh also discusses his approach to parenting. “I love my child deeply, as all parents do. The love for your first baby is immeasurable. I do things like changing his diapers and bathing him. When I’m not shooting, I enjoy spending time with him, even though he can’t talk yet. I make his bed and engage in these activities wholeheartedly.”
He adds, “Becoming a father has made me more responsible towards family values. There are things parents expect from us that we don’t fully understand until we have our own children. Sometimes we might unintentionally hurt our parents, but having children changes our perspective. As our kids grow, our expectations from them might change, and we’ll understand our parents’ viewpoints better.”
Gauravv praises Rajshri’s transformation into motherhood. “Rajshri is an amazing mother. Words fall short in praising her. Our friendship has remained strong, and she is still my best buddy, just like before we got married. She has become more responsible, managing our child and household brilliantly. The level of responsibility she handles as a mother, wife, and partner is incredible. I used to think I was more responsible than her, but now I realize how much she excels in this role.”
The couple named their son ‘Sahastra Gaurav.’ Gauravv explains, “Choosing a name was a dilemma. We wanted a unique name and sought suggestions from both families. After much discussion, we decided on ‘Sahastra Gaurav.’ I wanted my child’s name to reflect mine, just as my name includes my father’s name, ‘Gauravv Mukesh.’”
Gauravv also notes how family discussions have evolved since their son’s birth. “Life’s priorities have indeed changed. Previously, you only thought about yourself, but now, there’s someone else whose happiness matters most. Conversations now revolve around our child, from school choices to potential relocations. Every decision now begins and ends with our child. Life has taken a U-turn, and we are enjoying this new phase.”
With the arrival of their son, Gauravv Mukesh and Rajshri Rani are navigating the beautiful complexities of parenthood, cherishing every moment with their growing family.
