Gazal Sood on replacing Ashna Kishore for the role of Kato Singh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan
Actress Gazal Sood, who was last seen in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has replaced Ashna Kishore for the role of Kato (Kat) Singh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. The actress talked about it during a recent interview and said, “Replacements are quite common nowadays, especially on long-running shows. Also, I don’t know what led to the previous actress’s exit. I have no information about that.”
She added, “I was briefed about my character and I am working on it. It is a bit challenging for me, as she speaks the wrong English and has a weird accent.”
Talking about her plans on how she will essay the role, she said, “I am glad that the makers have given me room to improvise. They don’t expect me to copy the previous actor but want me to give it my own flavor. Copying someone is easy but if I do that, I won’t do justice to myself. I am sure that the audience will love the new Kat (Kato).”
When asked why she took another comedy show post Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, she replied, “Comedy has been my forte and I am more inclined towards it, especially on television. I have already played around five comic characters on TV shows.”
