Giaa Manek is known for being the original Gopi bahu of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya before she decided to quit the show in June 2012 to participate in Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa. Devoleena Bhattacharjee was roped in her place to essay the role of Gopi Bahu. After almost a decade, rumors are making the rounds of Gia returning in the upcoming prequel of Saath Nibhana Saathiya.
In an interview with BT Giaa talked about it and said, “I have a few projects in hand. Destiny will decide which one I will choose. As of now, I can’t comment on this. If everything gets confirmed then I will be happy to share the good news. And it could be any show.”

When asked about her earlier statement, where she had said that she cant be Gopi Bahu all her life, she said, “I may have said in a particular context and not because I was tired of playing Gopi bahu. I have complete gratitude and I’m glad to have got that chance to play that character. Having said that, we actors don’t have too options to choose from; it depends on the producers and broadcasters whether they see us fitting in certain roles. In my case, I was fortunate that after Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, I could play different roles and carve a different path for myself”
