Many TV shows are going through a shuffle these days. While some are having their time slots changed, some are being pulled off air. TV show ‘Guddan – Tumse Na Ho Payega’ is too one of those which saw many changes in the recent past. The show is now all set to witness a new entry, as it goes in for a time leap of 20 years.
Pratham Kunwar is the actor who has been roped in by the makers. The actor was last in the news for being replaced by Basant Bhatt, who he had replaced in the mythological show, ‘Vighnaharta Ganesh’, to play the new Kartikeya.
Talking about his character in ‘Guddan’, Pratham says, “The show recently went in for a time leap of 10 years and there will be another leap of 10 years next week. Post that, I will enter the show as the antagonist. I’m playing a spoilt brat, who puts up a façade of being a good guy in front of Guddan (Kanika Mann) just to marry her.”
He adds, “The best part about my character is that I will have an Indori accent. It will be a mix of shades of negative and comedy. It’s challenging as I haven’t played a character like this before. I am enjoying the part.”
The show has been on air for about a year and it’s never an easy task to join a daily soap midway. Pratham agrees and says, “It’s always challenging to enter an ongoing show, as we have to maintain the pace. However, since ‘Guddan’ is going in for a time leap, several new faces are expected to be introduced. I guess I will be comfortable and will try my best to strike a chord with the audience.”
What makes this venture special, is the fact that it will mark his debut in a full-fledged role in the fiction genre. He shares, “I had done only episodic or cameos in fiction shows. This is my first daily soap with a full-fledged role. In the past, I’ve been a part of four mythological shows – ‘Siya Ke Ram’, ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, ‘Mahakali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai’ and ‘Vighnaharta Ganesh’ – in a row.”
The actor is getting back to work after a gap of eight long months. Ask him about shooting in the new normal, and he replies, “I was prepared for the new normal. This year is a setback for everyone, but as they say, life goes on. So, I am taking all safety precautions while shooting. The production house is also taking all mandatory precautions to ensure a safe work environment and taking good care of the unit. I am happy about shooting again.”
