Gulki Joshi, best known for her portrayal of Haseena Malik in Maddam Sir, has recently discovered her true love. After the popular show concluded its successful three-year run, Gulki found herself with ample free time, which she decided to invest in her personal life. This led her to venture into the world of online dating, where she eventually met her match. Here’s a peek into her love story.
In an interview with Times of India, Gulki Joshi shared her experience of navigating the dating scene post-Maddam Sir. “When the show ended, I decided to join a dating app, despite some people advising against it. I thought to myself, ‘If something goes wrong, I can always claim it was a fake profile. I have plenty of time, so what’s the worst that could happen?’” she recalled with a laugh. Luckily, the only person she ended up liking was someone who wasn’t familiar with her television career and knew nothing about her professional life.
Gulki further revealed that the man she met through the app initially thought she was exaggerating about her career until she showed him a few episodes of her work. What attracted her most was that he appreciated her as a person before recognizing her as an actor. “It’s been around nine months now,” Gulki shared. “At first, it was all about the excitement and the butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling. But for the first time, I feel emotionally secure. For women, that emotional security is the most important thing.”
The Phir Subah Hogi actress feels that one of the key reasons they connected so well is because he is not from the entertainment industry. However, Gulki is not yet ready to make her relationship public, as she believes in the concept of nazar (the evil eye) and feels the relationship is still new. Interestingly, Gulki had taken a five-month break after Maddam Sir to travel and reconnect with herself. She wanted time to detach from her role and focus on her personal growth, which ultimately led her to this new chapter in her life.
On the professional front, Gulki Joshi is also known for her roles in popular TV shows like Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja, Piya Rangrezz, Paramavatar Shri Krishna, Ek Shringaar – Swabhiman, and Piyaa Albela, aside from her notable performance in Maddam Sir.
