Gulki Joshi, who gained immense popularity for her role as Haseena Malik in the hit TV show Maddam Sir, recently discussed her journey on the show and addressed rumors about her involvement in its second installment during an interview with ETimes.
According to recent reports, Maddam Sir 2 is set to premiere soon on Sony SAB, and fans are eager to see if Gulki Joshi will return as the iconic Haseena Malik. However, Gulki shared a different perspective regarding these expectations.
In her interview, Gulki Joshi revealed that while she had heard the buzz about Maddam Sir 2, she had no confirmed information regarding its production. Addressing the rumors about her involvement in the new season, Gulki clarified that even if Maddam Sir 2 is in the works, she will not be part of it.
Reflecting on her experience over the past three years, Gulki fondly recalled the fun and camaraderie on set. She expressed her enjoyment of working on the show and the strong bonds she formed with her team.
By the end of her interview, Gulki extended her best wishes to the entire Maddam Sir 2 team, including the creators and new cast members. She encouraged her fans to support the show, even though she won’t be part of it, and emphasized understanding and respect for the producers’ decisions.
Gulki also made it clear that she harbors no ill feelings towards the show’s makers, highlighting that they have always treated her well. She suggested that there could be various reasons behind the decision not to include her in the sequel. Expressing her gratitude for her fans’ loyalty, she urged them not to spread negativity towards the producers or the new cast members.
Gulki Joshi’s television debut was with Zee TV’s Phir Subah Hogi, and she later appeared in Life OK’s Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja. She also played Sawri in Colors TV’s Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman and Naina in Zee TV’s Piyaa Albela. Additionally, she starred as Devaki in &TV’s mythological drama Paramavatar Shri Krishna and portrayed a reporter in MX Player’s Bhaukaal. Beyond television, Gulki has been active in theater, performing in various stage plays. In 2019, she played Ambika in Zee Theatre’s play Purush alongside Ashutosh Rana and appeared in the film Nakkash.
From 2020 to 2023, Gulki portrayed S.H.O. Haseena Malik, a Lucknow-based female cop, in Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir. She will next be seen in the theater play Pyar Mein Twist opposite Ankit Raj.
Maddam Sir, an Indian Hindi-language comedy-action television series, aired on Sony SAB from February 24, 2020, to February 18, 2023, and is available for streaming on SonyLIV.
