Her Last Emblem- Riansh OS
Hey guys I’m back with an OS and this was requested by @Tanya K. Hope you all will like it.
This starts from the painting track related to Vansh’s mother’s painting that was burnt. Here Riddhima knows about Kabir’s plan now.
Starts
Riddhima was pacing around in the garden, trying to attain fresh air and a cool mind. All the things she had gotten to know so far had nothing related to Vansh being a criminal. It was getting tougher for her every day. Vansh was a puzzle that was too hard for her to solve, it became more complex and twisted every day.
As the cold wind blew against her face while she strolled around, she remembered how Kabir used to wrap a shawl and himself around her, back hugging her when she used to take such a stroll but then she remembered his betrayal. She looked up to her room’s window where she saw a figure on a phone; Vansh. She smiled and berated herself for expecting anything from him. She continued with her stroll while Vansh saw her retreating figure and looked on suspiciously.
After a few minutes, Riddhima’s smelt some burning flame around her. She went around looking to see what was burning and near the backyard, directly opposite her and Vansh’s room. She saw a black hoody person escaping from there after which she chased. She reached the spot and found a painting that was being burned. Vansh from top, sensed the similar smell which drew him closer to the window and he was aghast seeing the painting burning with Riddhima on the side.
With red shot blood eyes and anger boiling within him, he rushed to the area where the painting was burning. Riddhima on the other hand, almost burnt her hand while trying to anguish the fire with her hands. She tries putting it out as quickly as she could as she had sensed it was a fresh fire not the one that had lasted long.
By the time she put it out with her hands, water splashed in front of her, drenching her a bit. The water was thrown by Vansh who later dropped the jar and pulled Riddhima away harshly. He held her with extreme force and anger, hurting her immensely. He lashed out his anger on her, inviting the rest of the family members to gather around them.
Vansh: Why did you do this!! (anger) Huh? Answer me….(looking at the picture) my mother!
Riddhima: Ahh Vansh…you’re hurting me! (wincing as his hold got tighter)
Vansh: And you? What did you do! You burnt my mother’s picture (in tears) My mother’s last emblem.
He broke down and got on to his knees near the painting that was on the grass. The painting was facing upside down. He cried thinking about his mother, their memories they spent together, and at last the painting that was the last emblem he had that belonged to her. He got up once again, angrily and went to Riddhima, holding her tightly again.
Vansh: Why did you have to burn it? (Anger) Do you realize how much it meant to me, how much it was special to me! No no…how can you know, you are an orphan! How will you know what it is to have a mother! You being an orphan can never value any relations! (shouting)
Dadi: Vansh! Watch what you’re saying!
Vansh: How can you say that dadi? (hurt)
Dadi: What proof do you have that she was the one who did it? Did you listen to what she has to say?
Vansh: What more proof is needed, after I saw her in this spot from my room! (shouting) And what will she say…she doesn’t have anything to say. She just wants to trouble me and guess what Ms Riddhima! You succeeded! (emotional)
Riddhima stood there emotional after Vansh had commented on her being an orphan. He didn’t care about what she had to say but just taunted and shouted at her, she felt extremely hurt seeing his condition. All she did was sob. How could he be that heartless to tell her that just because she’s an orphan, she wouldn’t understand, of course she would….she had a mother too?
Having saying no other words against the accusations that were thrown on her by the family, she silently headed towards their room….not their room, her old hostel room. She latched the door and sat on the floor leaning on the door. Vansh outside, had fallen on the ground, crying his heart out. Ishani and Siya were in tears while it had made no difference to Aryan, Chanchal and Rudra.
Dadi went beside Vansh and pat his back to comfort him. Deep inside her, she knew Riddhima couldn’t have done such a things, she knew that an orphan knew the importance of a family the most and was upset at Vansh for his words however stayed quiet for the time being. Vansh fell in Dadi’s embrace and she roamed her hand in his hair trying to calm him. His mother was a very sensitive topic for him. He cried heavily reminiscing all his childhood moments with his mother.
Dadi noticed something and smiled. She stretched towards the picture and turned it around to see just a bit of the picture was charred because of the fire, but the rest was intact. She informed Vansh who like a child grabbed the picture and caressed it, kissing it and hugged it tightly. He looked at his mother’s portrait that held the power to calm him down and soother his pain. He breathed a sigh of relief seeing it fine and carefully took it to where it belonged, where he had kept safely; the storeroom.
After he had calmed down, he sat down beside his bar, and took a couple of drinks, realizing that Riddhima had saved the picture by turning it around and she was the one who had put off the fire before he poured the water. He got to his senses and remembered his sharp and venomous words he said to her on which he cursed himself.
Vansh: Damnit! I shouted at her, and even….taunted her on being an orphan when she saved no but how am I sure she didn’t burn it! I don’t even have proof that she did it. Where is she (looking around) Room!
Vansh rushed to their room and found it empty. He searched the washroom too, it was empty, and there were no traces of her in the room. It got Vansh worried for her, he hoped she hadn’t done anything to herself. He went to Dadi’s room, wishing to find her there but he met with disappointment instead; she wasn’t there either.
Dadi: Vansh, you were too harsh with her. You didn’t even here to her point…I’m getting worried for he now. (tensed)
Vansh: Dadi I know I made a mistake
Dadi: I hope that this mistake of yours doesn’t cost something! I very well know how your mother is a sensitive topic for you but didn’t you call Riddhima a replica of your mother? Then why did you hurt her like this!
Vansh: I’m sorry dadi, I realized but where is she? I’ll go check the other rooms. She can’t leave me!
Vansh left Dadi’s room, feeling guilty on his actions. He searched every room but had no sight of her. He last realized that he had left her hostel room. He went there and saw a silhouette figure lying on the floor taking the support of the door. He knocked a couple of times but found no response except light sobs that he heard.
He knew he had hurt her a lot. He ordered Angre to have a ladder kept near her room. He went outside and started climbing the ladder that Angre had brought for him. He climbed up till he reached the window that was luckily open to only see Riddhima, crying holding her pillow. He jumped inside the room with a thud disturbing Riddhima.
Riddhima looked towards the window with eyes, red and full of tears. Her face had dried patches of tears. She looked shocked but with full energy she shouted at him to go away. Vansh being himself, went towards her and held her by her shoulders leading her to wince in pain due to the pain he had given before. He gently assisted her in standing up and took her towards the bed. She didn’t object as she had no energy.
His words were playing in her mind and she tried jerking him away. As she plopped on the bed, he took her in his embrace, trying to console and comfort her. He calmed her a bit and she started pouring out her feelings to him.
Riddhima: (sobbing) I…wasn’t bor…born an orphan…my mum, Sejal both…are my family. See (sobbing) Sejal gave me this….pillow (showing him), this (sobs) bracelet that has her scent and our memories together. (crying) Mummy had…given me this locket (showing the one she wore around her neck) it’s her….her last emblem I have! (crying) and how can you…say that I wouldn’t value relations….it wasn’t me who burnt it!
Vansh: calm down sweetheart. Shshh (patting her back) I’m really sorry, I wasn’t meaning to hurt you like this…I was too horror struck when I saw it like that, and it’s the closest to me. (tears and guilty) please forgive me! Riddhima! Riddh…
Vansh noticed that she had slept due to the weakness and crying. He saw her burnt hands and realized she had actually saved the painting. He got up slowly trying not disturb her and brought the first aid kit, and treated her burnt hands. He adjusted himself a bit along with her and they both slept in each other’s embrace, peacefully.
The next morning, Riddhima felt something caging her body of course her husband’s strong arms. She opened her eyes and smiled slightly looking at his cute and calm sleeping face. She thought over when he had told her she was a replica of his mom and looked on at him sleeping peacefully.
Did he actually get the peace he got in his mother’s embrace with her? Was she supposed to realize that as much as his mother was important to him that’s the same amount she’s important to him. She thoughts of giving him another chance to him and their relationship, hoping she would find her lost family’s love and care with him and he would find his mother’s love and care with her. She smiled thinking about a new start with each other and she snuggled in more with, almost cuddling each other.
Vansh opened his eyes and saw his sweetheart was cuddling with him just like a cute baby panda. He kissed her forehead and moved slightly to take the phone beside him. He received Angre’s message saying “Work done, she’s confessed her crimes” on which he smirked.
Flashback
When Vansh was roaming around the house to find his lost sweetheart, he came across Anupriya who was in her room cursing herself for not being able to burn the picture. She panicked knowing that it was saved and her position once again would be given away.
Vansh despised her thinking and left from there not before informing Angre about his plan to make her confess all her crimes.
Flashback Ends
Vansh smirked and messaged him “Don’t forget to keep her last emblem….it’ll be useful to her son, Kabir!” He hugged his sweetheart and once again they found the peace they were yearning for with each other.
The End
