Ragini woke up and saw it was 6.30. Aww she had slept a little over. She had to catch college bus as their last semester started from today. This was her final year in college and also the final year she’ll be laksh’s wife. She was about to get down from bed when she saw laksh hands over her. Butterflies swirled in her stomach. Strange he never has put his arms over her. Maybe it was a mistake she thought as she lifted his hands slowly. Suddenly she was pulled closer by laksh. Her heart went haphazard due to his closeness. Laksh opened his eyes slowly and a little smile spread upon his face as he whispered “Good Morning”. Ragini’s whole world seemed a lot brighter at this moment. ” Very Bad Very Bad you have to wish me in return na” he pouted. Ragini wished him a good morning as laksh left her go. She quickly stood up and ran away into the washroom. What has gotten into him. Maybe he has started to like me she wondered. If that happens she will be the most happiest person in the world. But dreams were far from reality she thought as she brushed her teeth. In her love she has forgotten that she will miss the bus if not reached in time. So she quickly freshened up and changed into a light blue salwar. She slipped as she stepped out of the washroom but was caught by Laksh. Laksh realised how beautiful she was on a closer look and wished to hold her forever. He tucked a tendril that was teasing her eye making him lose focus on her beautiful eyes. Her cheeks turned red as she looked into his eyes she transcended into another world . But the moment was broken when laksh’s mother came in.
She smiled as she cleared her throat,”Ragini it’s time for you to catch the bus and still you haven’t got ready” she said. Ragini steadied herself and said “Sorry Maa woke up late. I will catch the next bus maa”. Laksh whispered no need of bus. His mom asked him “What Beta”. He replied “Mom from today I’ll take to college by my bike”. His mom was happy but decided to tease him “What how can that happen?”. He asked why mom? she replied ” Arey my son what will then happen to your image? What will you answer if anyone asks” she said. Laksh knew where this was going. In the past when they were newly married he refused to take her college by himself that’s what his mom was reminding him. She loved ragini so much, but maa in this scenario you should help your son his mind said. Laksh pulled out a breath as he said, “I’m sorry for that mom now I’m mending my ways so shall I?”. His mom smiled as she said that ragini was the one to whom he should say sorry and she will be the one to decide to go with him or not.
“Not fair mom” he spoke through his eyes. “You deserve atleast this much” his mom told through her eyes. She left by saying she will see ragini downstairs. Ragini was dumbstruck when laksh told her sorry and asked her if she can come with him. She was confused why he was so caring when she was going to leave. Was this because he hated her much for staying, when she’s finally going to leave he’s showing care . Her heart at the thought whatever the reason was she couldnt say no to him not when he was so cute holding his ears pleading her sorry. She said ,”Ok I’ll come with you and sorry accepted Laksh”. Laksh was so happy as he went to get ready. Ragini was puzzled by him, the more complex the more she fell in love. So she went to her mother in law.
Mithra maa she called when her mother in law, “Yes beti I’m here”. She went near her. Her mother in law was so happy. Finally ragini everthing is going to be alright. So your husband has got his senses. I hope the two of you be happy and stay the rest of your life together. Ragini smiled how irony it was. “I think my son has fallen in love with you beti ” mithra maa said. How wrong she was. She was going to leave and that’s reason he’s showing care she thought but said nothing. What if she was wrong? What if he has really fallen for her. “Maa “she said. “Accho see that shyness on my dearest ragini’s face” she cooed to which ragini’s face heated up and she ran away from there.
Ragini was sitting in her room before the dressing table she slowly picked up a blue oxidized jhumka when a hand stopped her. Looking into the mirror she realized it was Laksh. He slowly took that earring from her hand and opened up the earring box. He looked at it for sometime and took a long maroon earrings engraved with stones and beads with a hook at the top. He took it and made her wear it. His breath hitched at the contact. He thought all those jiggly feelings only existed in movies . Now being experiencing it in real he was over the moon. He looked at ragini’s face through the mirror and said that’s better now right? Ragini nodded in trance. The fact that she was feeling the exact same as he was was overwhelming him. He then took a black bindi and placed it in between her brows and finally he put kumkum in her partition. Now get your hair done and come down I’ll be waiting for you there he said as he left the room.
Ragini slowly came into her senses. Wait what was that? He put on her earrings and bindi. She looked at herself in the mirror the combination her husband picked up was very bad but that would do for her. She smiled at his behavior how she wished that it would last for as long they lived. Ragini then started doing her hair she fixed it so no one could see the sindoor in her hair. She was hiding her marriage in college 1.For Laksh 2.For Herself because she didn’t want to tell anyone about it. She picked up her bag and checked for assignments and saw Laksh’s bag there and arranged its contents. She picked up both bags and walked down to the hall. There was something spilled on the floor Ragini didn’t notice and stepped on it. She fell down and the bags fell down with a thud. “Ragini are you ok?” mithra maa asked. She nodded as she sat down. Laksh who heard his mother shouting ragini came inside and was shocked to see ragini sprawled on the floor. He rushed to her and lifted her up and made her sit on a chair. He took her legs and asked her whether it was paining or not. Ragini tried to take her leg away but laksh gave a glare and started checking her feet.
Laksh’s father stared at him and lifted a eyebrow when his wife took him away. So Mithra is the world going to end see your brainless and devilish son is caring for our angel bahu he stated. Rakesh you shouldn’t be that rude afterall he’s your son she smiled. Mithra but I never took that long to propose to you and moreover I’m better man than him he smiled. Mithra laughed at her husband however old he gets he’s always a child inside and just like him their son was childish inside but rude outside. She told her husband, “Rakesh I wish that they stay happy forever and our laksh makes ragini happy forever for I have seen her pain”. “Mithra dear don’t worry they will be happy and since your son got his senses he will take good care of her and moreover’s who son he is” he smiled at his everworrying wife. He looked at his son and his bahu. His bahu was a daughter to him and he knew how much she loved him. He witnessed it that day. Not only that she was an angel and perfect for his brainless son. That’s why he got them married. At first he knew how his son behaved with her. Though ragini never said anything he knows his son and moreover all the ignorance wasn’t to be ignored by them. “I knew Rakesh that sending ragini home will make him realize his feelings” his wife smiled. “Ah scheming one” he laughed.
Laksh who heard this felt grateful to his mom who had made him realise his feelings. If not he could have lost her forever. That’s how he felt when she left him. His mother still doesn’t know about the divorce matter. Before ragini decides to tell everyone he decided to handle it. He shouted “Maa Maa where’s the turmeric maa when I fell down you used to give me turmeric milk and I decided to make her have it but can’t find the turmeric alone”. She smiled as she went with him to the kitchen. As she saw her son asking and making turmeric honey milk for ragini. She questioned him whether he loved ragini. As he was stirring the milk laksh said yes. His mother’s face brightened up. He turned to her and said, ” Maa but don’t tell it to her now. I plan to give her a suprise hope you understand” he said and gave her a hug thanking her as he exited with the milk. Mithra maa prayed that their happiness should stay intact. She was happy finally her ragini would also be happy.
Ragini wondered if she can fall again so that she can see that care for laksh in her eyes . How crazy she was. She was innocent but not stupid, she could see something in his eyes for her summing up to all events from yesterday she can see that he felt something for her. Love not sure but maybe start of love she smiled. She decided to make it stronger. Finally there was a hope to save her marriage. How happy she was. She prayed to her favorite god Krishna that she would visit his temple today. She wanted this to happen for so long, but never thought that it would happen. She was going crazy to think that laksh strike that her husband likes her now. Her face went into a wide smile when he bought her the milk. She drank it up looking at him. He looked at her mouth and saw a little mustache and wiped it. She brought her hands to take his hand back. That’s when laksh noticed the scratch on ragini’s hand and he took her hand and looked the first aid box for band aid. Ragini noticed the scratch and saw that her watch was broken due to the fall and the glass in it pierced her skin. She was so sad as she looked at the watch. It was given by her grandma. Laksh noticed her reaction as he put on the band aid. He asked her why she was sad. She told him that it was given by her grandma and she cherished their memories in it and there were charms attached to it. Laksh got it from her hands and placed it in his pocket saying that he will repair it for her. He asked her if she wants to stay home. Ragini smiled as she replied, “Now I can’t let this little incident bother my studies. Moreover I’m stronger don’t you remember whose wife I am “. Laksh was taken aback by her response anyway he loved it. His wife he smiled.
Laksh started his bike and ragini hopped her. They waved bye to mithra maa and left. Laksh asked ragini what was charms. She told him that charms were made to protect loved ones and that one was gifted by her grandfather to his grandmother. After grandpa passed grandma gave it to me to protect me. Your grandpa seems like a romantic one he smiled . Ragini said yes you know he was so sweet and gentle to grandma. When I was small I grew up with them. I wished that I wanted to marry someone who looks at me the way my grandpa looked at my grandma. “Did you” questioned laksh. Ragini smirked as she replied, “Don’t think so maybe”. Laksh thought what I’ll sooner make you say that I’m a lovable husband . She got off the bike and went ahead to the class. She didn’t want others to know their relationship just because she wanted to avoid those nagging questions. So she told him to be like before. She went into her class and sat at her desk.
When Laksh came in she saw him and smiled. Laksh too. He went and sat on his bench. Shiv who looked at this whisteled at laksh ,”So what’s going on bro” he asked. Laksh told him that he wanted to give him a suprise and told him to meet him near krishna temple. Why near temple shiv questioned. That you will get to know he said. As he started immersing himself in his wife’s thoughts. She had asked to take her to temple. For the first time she asked him something and he wanted to do it for her. And shiv was his best friend so he had to open up to him also.
Their Hod came into the class. He told them that results have been out and their top student is ragini. Everyone clapped and laksh was overjoyed. seeing this shiv knew that his friend has fallen for her but he was sure it would happen as he had guessed. He made a mental note to solve any problems that will arise against his friend. For his friend was The Laksh.
