CHAPTER 46
Ashwin was driving the car with Mahi beside him who was quiet.
Ashwin: Why are you so silent?? You are a chatterbox if I’m not mistaken.
Mahi: I only speak to the people who are close to me, not with any strangers.
Ashwin: Stranger?? Really!!?? So who was the girl who express her crush feeling towards a stranger years before??
Mahi: That was a huge blunder done by myself for….. (She remembered something.) What?? Do you still remember it?? (Ashwin smirked at her.)
Ashwin: Do you think I have forgotten it?? (Mahi nodded.) How could I forget it when the person was you??
Mahi: (surprised) What?? But you didn’t like me?? (Ashwin looked at her in surprise and was about to say something when their car was hit by a truck from behind. Mahi became panicked. Ashwin tried to turn the steering to move the car from the truck but the truck was continuously shoving their car. The wheels were screeching on the road. Somehow Ashwin managed to turn the steering and the car got out of the truck’s control. However, their car hit a tree on the roadside. They were lucky as the airbag came out protecting them. Ashwin got out of the car after unfastening his seat belt and he threw something on the truck which was speeding away from there. He went to Mahi who was crying in pain. He noticed the window on her side was slightly broken because of hitting the tree and her hand was bleeding because the glass pieces were piercing her skin. He felt bad seeing the blood.)
Ashwin: I’m so sorry, Mahi. I should have been careful. (He removed the glass pieces and ties her wound with his handkerchief.)
Mahi: It’s not your mistake. What happened to the truck driver?? Why did he hit us?? Was he drunken or what??
Ashwin: I don’t know. Can I use your mobile for a while?? (She gave him her mobile. He called and informed Ranveer about the incident. Then, he called another person and said something. He gave the mobile back to Mahi. Ranveer reached there with ShivRu and took AshMa with them.)
At the Outhouse
AniSouPri were aiding Mahi’s wound while Ranveer was checking any injuries on Ashwin.
Ashwin: I’m fine, yaar. I’m not injured.
Ranveer: What happened, yaar?? I know you are not a careless person.
Mahi: Sir, he was driving correctly. Suddenly, one truck hit the car from behind and continuously pushing it. (Ashwin nodded agreeing with her.)
Soumya: Something is fishy. It didn’t seem like a normal accident. It looked like they planned the accident.
Prinku: Maybe the culprit has realised that we are searching for them.
Ranveer: If like that they should have attacked us. Why Ashwin and Mahi?? Ashwin just came today.
Ashwin: How long Mahi was helping you??
Rudra: Just a few weeks. Do you mean they are targeting Mahi??
Ashwin: Maybe. Mahi is having the footage. They didn’t want to get caught. So they tried to attack Mahi to get the footage from her.
Ranveer: But Mahi didn’t involve directly. Besides that, no one besides us knows that she is having the footage.
Soumya: If they were doubting Mahi, they could have attacked her earlier. Why now??
Ashwin: Point. So if Mahi is not their target, the target should be….. (He looked at everyone and his gaze fixed on Shivaay.) Shivaay Singh Oberoi!! (All of them were shocked.)
Shivaay: Me??
Ashwin: Simple logic, Shivaay. Whose car was that?? It’s yours. The car windows are tinted. People can’t identify from outside who are sitting inside. And no one knows that it was me who was driving the car. They must have thought it was you.
Shivaay: But who wanted to attack me and why??
Ashwin: Do you have any enemies??
Shivaay: Business rivals but I don’t think they are having vengeance till they wanted to kill me.
Rudra: Maybe those guys.
Shivaay: But why do they want to kill me??
Ranveer: Because you have seen their faces!!
Ashwin: Exactly!! That was what I was trying to say.
Prinku: That means they already know that we are looking for them.
Ranveer: Should be. Besides Ishana, AvNeil and PooGau, Shivaay needs to be careful as well.
Ashwin: Not only Shivaay. Every one of you need to be careful. Don’t go out alone. Girls, if you want to go out, take pepper spray and a small knife with you. (The girls nodded.)
Mahi: I am having pepper spray with me. So I can leave!! (All look at her in disbelief.)
Ashwin: Ok. I will come with you.
Ranveer: Are you mad?? You asked us don’t go anywhere alone but you are going.
Mahi: We are not alone. We are two people.
Prinku: Trying to be smart, Mahi?? If we are in danger, both of you are in danger as well.
Mahi: But Priyanka, I need to go to work.
Annika: Can’t you work from here??
Rudra: Bhabhi, she is a receptionist.
Mahi: Yes. I need to inform my manager about the catering order.
Shivaay: Can you take leave today?? Just inform your manager through phone call. Or I will talk to him.
Annika: I think it’s better if no one goes anywhere today.
Shivaay: Ashwin and Mahi, both of you stay at Oberoi Mansion tonight.
Mahi: How if Ishana mam see us?? She might doubt something.
Ashwin: I will stay here at the outhouse.
Shivaay: No, Ashwin. This is for our workers. I don’t feel good if you stay here. You are our guest and friend.
Ashwin: I am a worker too. Working for the public. I don’t mind staying here. One small space is enough for me. (Shivaay just smiled nodding his head.)
Soumya: Mahi, do you mind sharing a room with me??
Mahi: I don’t mind, Soumya but I don’t want to trouble anyone of you.
Rudra: Mahi, you have landed in trouble because of us. Your safety is our priority. You stay with Soumya. We will handle Ishana bhabhi. (Mahi nodded her head.)
At Night
Omkara’s Room
Omkara was stuffing some clothes inside his bag pack. Ishana looked at him confusingly.
Ishu: Are you going anywhere??
Om: One client wants a few paintings of nature. So I need to go and find beautiful sceneries. (Ishana’s face fell.) What happened, Ishana??
Ishu: We are only having 5 days. Now you are leaving somewhere. (She sighed.) It’s ok. I need to learn to live without you. I will start to learn from today. (She walked towards the couch and lied on it.)
Om: (chuckled) Ishana, come and sleep on the bed. (She turned to the opposite side to avoid facing him.) If you don’t sleep on the bed, I will sleep on the floor without any mattress and blanket. (Ishana got up from the couch and ran to the bed and lied on it. Omkara chuckled seeing her.)
Ishu: I will sleep on the bed but I won’t come near you. (Omkara finished packing and kept the bag aside. He switched off the lights and lied beside Ishana facing at her.) Good night. (She tossed to the opposite side and closed her eyes. She tried to sleep but she couldn’t sleep. She tossed from right to left and vice versa but she couldn’t sleep. Omkara noticed it but he pretended to be asleep. Ishana looked at him and slowly she rolled towards him. Omkara opened his eyes slightly and saw what she was doing. He controlled his laughter and closed his eyes again.)
Om: Someone said that she won’t come near me. (Ishana frowned and was about to move back to her place but Omkara pulled her hand making her land on his chest.) Where are you going, my wife??
Ishu: You are the one going somewhere leaving me.
Om: Who said I’m leaving you?? You are coming with me.
Ishu: (surprised) What?? You are taking me with you?? (Omkara nodded.) But you are going for your work purpose. My presence might disturb you.
Om: Ishana, I’m not going to any business meeting. I’m going for my artwork. You won’t be a disturbance for me. Your absence only will disturb me.
Ishu: But I will be leaving in 5 days….. (He placed his finger on her lip.)
Om: Let’s talk about it later. Now….. (He opened his arms. Ishana smiled and lied on his chest. Omkara wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head. They soon dozed into sleep.)
Ashwin sneaked out from the outhouse silently looking around. He was about to climb the wall when Ranveer held his hand.
Ranveer: I know you will do like this. That’s why I was keeping an eye on you. Where are you going??
Ashwin: I missed my mobile. That’s why I’m going to search for it.
Ranveer: Where did you miss it??
Ashwin: At the accident place.
Ranveer: It’s been long hours and you just realised it?? Really?? (Ashwin rolled his eyes here and there.) Are you hiding something??
Ashwin: Give me your mobile. (Ranveer handed his mobile to Ashwin. Ashwin was about to call someone when Mahi came towards him.) Mahi!!
Mahi: (towards Ashwin) Someone called my number asking for you.
Ranveer: Why did the person call your number??
Ashwin: Because I called him from Mahi’s number. (He said taking the mobile from Mahi’s hand.) Hello!! Did you get him?? Ok. Keep him there. I will come in a while. (He ended the call and looked at Ranveer.) The truck driver has been caught.
Ranveer: That’s good. How did he get caught??
Ashwin: Through my mobile. I threw my mobile on the truck after the truck hit Shivaay’s car. I asked an officer to track my mobile and go to the location. That’s how they find him.
Mahi: Amazing. (She looked at him admiringly.)
Ashwin: (smiled) Thank you. (Ranveer cleared his throat.) Mahi, you go inside. I and Ranveer will go to the place they are keeping him.
Mahi: But I want to go to the hotel. I am having some works there.
Ranveer: No, Mahi. It’s already late night. We don’t want to risk your life.
Mahi: You can drop me at the entrance. Once I enter the hotel, I will be safe. You don’t have to worry.
Ashwin: Why are you insisting this much??
Mahi: Please…. Please…. Please….
Ranveer: Ok, fine. Call us if anything wrong.
Mahi: Done. (Three of them sneaked out from Oberoi Mansion.)
Next Morning
Omkara’s Room
Ishana was packing up her things in a small bag.
Ishu: Sir, can we…..
Om: Ishana, you know your bhaiya’s address, right??
Ishu: Yes, sir. Why are you asking??
Om: We are going to his house to visit your friends. I need to ask for your friends’ permission to take you out with me.
Ishu: Ohh!!! Responsible man.
Om: (smiled) Have you finished packing??
Ishu: Yes!! (The room door was knocked. Omkara opened the door and saw ShivIka.)
Annika: So, going out??
Om: Yes. We are going out. I told you right that I need to do some paintings about the nature.
Shivaay: Yes. We are here for that only, Om. We have found a beautiful place where you can make the painting of natures. Your client must love it.
Om: Really?? Where is it??
Annika: Manali.
Om: (shocked) Manali?? It’s too far!!
Shivaay: Arrey, Om!! The views are beautiful there. You should not miss it.
Ishu: Right now it’s cold season in Manali, right??
Annika: Not only that, Ishana. Some places are having snowfall too.
Ishu: Woww!!! I have never seen snowfall.
Om: But Ishana can’t stand cold. She can fall sick.
Annika: Don’t worry about that, Om. I have already prepared some sweaters, blankets and other suitable clothes for her to be worn there. (She gave Ishana a small bag which was having sweaters, shawls and other clothes.)
Om: Bhabhi, we are going by car. It will take a long time to reach if we want to go to Manali. I don’t think we can get flight tickets at the last minute.
Shivaay: Don’t worry about that, Om. I already arranged a chopper for you.
Ishu: Chopper??
Annika: Helicopter.
Ishu: I thought chopper is used for chopping out something. (Annika laughed.)
Annika: It sounds like that, right?? (She laughed again while Shivaay glared at her.) Arrey, Om!! Why are you hesitating?? Manali is a wonderful place for honey…. (Shivaay covered her mouth with his palm while Omkara widened his eyes in shock. He turned towards Ishana who was looking confused.)
Shivaay: Both of you get ready first. We are leaving now. (Shivaay took Annika with him in the same position.)
Ishu: Honey….!!??
Om: Yes!!
Ishu: Huhh!!
Om: Did you call me?? (Ishana thought for a while.) Honey??
Ishu: No. Annika di was telling honey something.
Om: Oh!! I thought you were calling me honey. (Ishana rolled her eyes at him. He smiled.) Just kidding. You get ready first. I will be back in a while. (He left the room.)
ShivIka’s Room
Shivaay: What were you saying, Annika?? What if Ishana misunderstood??
Annika: Slip of my tongue, Shivaay. Besides that, Manali is the place where people go for a honeymoon. (Shivaay was about to say something when he saw Omkara at the door staring at them.)
Shivaay: It’s not like you are thinking, Om.
Om: Seriously?? Besides these many problems, you guys are sending us for a honeymoon.
Annika: What?? Honeymoon?? Oh!! You are having this type of thought?? Do you think that we will send you for a honeymoon with Ishana??
Om: Then, with whom should I go for a honeymoon?? She is my wife.
Annika: Mr Omkara Singh Oberoi, you haven’t disclosed that Ishana is your wife. Then, how do you think we will send you for your honeymoon??
Om: Then, why are you sending us to Manali??
Shivaay: To make both of you stay away from Mumbai for some days.
Om: Both of us??
Annika: You are the one told that you will keep Ishana with you, right?? That’s why we want you to take Ishana quite far away from here.
Shivaay: I have arranged all the accommodation for you to stay there. Our villa’s key is with your friend, Akhil. I already informed him. He will come and give you the key there. So, don’t worry. If anything means just give me a call.
Om: Is everything ok, Shivaay??
Shivaay: Yes. Everything is fine. We are nearing the culprit.
Om: Shivaay, should Ishana know the truth?? She can’t tolerate it. Why don’t we punish the culprit??
Shivaay: She has to know, Om. Then only she will accept you wholeheartedly.
Om: You don’t know about her, Shivaay. She is willing to forgive me for whatever I did to her including her pregnancy. She is getting closer to me but I’m scared she might move away from me if she learns the truth.
Annika: Let’s not discuss about this now. You go and meet PooGau and AvNeil before leaving to Manali. (Omkara nodded.) Om, make Ishana realise how much you love her. (Omkara smiled nodding his head and he left from there.)
Shivaay: We are having a lot of works now. Let’s go and meet Ranveer. (Annika nodded.)
CITY HOSPITAL
Pooja’s Ward
Gautham was combing Pooja’s hair and braiding it.
Pooja: Why are you doing this, Gautham??
Gau: Why?? Shouldn’t I do for my wife?? (He hugged her after finished braiding her hair.) It’s my responsibility to take care of you.
Pooja: So sweet. How on earth have I found you as my husband?? You are the best husband.
Gau: And you are the best wife. (Pooja smiled.) Ishu called just now. She is coming here with Omkara.
Pooja: Gautham, how could Ishu behave nicely with Omkara?? Even yesterday you too talked nicely to him.
Gau: Pooja, do you trust me??
Pooja: What question is this?? Of course, I trust you!!
Gau: Will you trust my decision?? I mean our decision?? About Ishu??
Pooja: Definitely. I know you and Neil bhaiya won’t take any wrong decision if it comes to Ishu.
Gau: I can’t tell you everything now, Pooja. I don’t want to pressure you. I will tell you everything in detail once you fully recover. Now, I just want to say that our Ishu has fallen in love….

Gau: Pooja, Omkara has fallen for her a long time before since Ishu stayed with him. His hatred has turned into love. Pooja, trust me. Ishu won’t get a better life partner than Omkara. He loves her a lot.
Pooja: But whatever he has done to Ishu is unforgivable.
Gau: But Ishu is willing to forgive him.
Pooja: Are you sure, Gautham??
Gau: What do you mean by that?? I don’t understand.
Pooja: Gautham, a few days after Ishu came to Mumbai, Avni and I spoke to her. She told about Omkara’s behaviour which was not like before. He was caring for her and being gentle towards her. Ishu was telling that she couldn’t behave badly with him as he was treating her nicely. So I gave her an idea to pretend to go on his way. I asked her to pretend as she cared for him. And if can….
Gau: If can….
Pooja: (closed her eyes) If can… pretend to love him.
Gau: (shocked) What?? (Pooja opened her eyes.) Pooja….
Pooja: Let me complete, Gautham. Ishu was against this idea. She said she can pretend to hate someone but she can’t pretend to love someone as she hadn’t been taught like that. And it will be a humiliation to both of you who raised her. She didn’t want that to happen. (Gautham smiled proudly thinking about Ishana.) But now…. (Gautham looked at her confusingly.) No, I don’t want to come to a conclusion. I want to meet her first.
Gau: She is on the way here. You don’t stress yourself. Be relax. (He hugged her and caressed her back calming her down.)
IshKara reached the hospital after a while and they entered Pooja’s ward.
Ishu: Hi, darlings!!! (Pooja got excited listening to Ishana’s voice and pulled herself from Gautham’s embrace making him frowned.)
Pooja: My baby!! (She forwarded her hand towards Ishana which Ishana held and sat near her pushing Gautham away. Gautham sighed shaking his head and stood from the bed. He went and stood beside Omkara. IshJa hugged each other.)
Gau: Girls love!!
Om: I can see it. (Gautham smiled.)
Gau: Let them spend some time together. We will wait outside. (Omkara agreed and they left the room.)
Ishu: I missed you so much!! (She kissed Pooja’s cheek.) You were sleeping for a long time. Sleepyhead!! (Pooja chuckled and kissed her cheek.)
Pooja: Now, I am awake!! See how I am going to disturb all of your sleep. (Ishana chuckled. She placed her hand on Pooja’s tummy.)
Ishu: Thank you for returning our mother quickly, baby. (She looked at Pooja.) Very strong baby.
Pooja: I know. And this baby is also a strong baby. (Ishana smiled.) So how was everything?? It looks like something has happened when I was unconscious??
Ishu: I don’t know whether you will believe me or not.
Pooja: I always believe you, Ishu. Just tell me.
Ishu: Omkara sir is not bad as we thought. (She told her how he cared for her and how she has misunderstood his behaviour last time.)
Outside the Ward
Gau: Did RuPri speak to you yesterday??
Om: Yes. They felt so bad.
Gau: I know. They were feeling guilty for misunderstanding you.
Om: They should not because I still did wrong. I married Ishana…..
Gau: Om, let’s not talk about that. Past is past. We cannot change whatever happened. (Omkara smiled a little.) Om, I want to ask you something.
Om: Sure.
Gau: How was Ishu’s behaviour towards you lately??
Om: What does that mean??
Gau: I mean did she behave nicely, gently, lovingly….
Om: So many ‘ly’s?? Just ask directly, Gautham. You are a cop. You are supposed to be straightforward.
Gau: Thank you for reminding me.
Om: It’s my pleasure. (Gautham looked at him in disbelief.)
Gau: You are Rudra’s brother. I could see a glimpse of him in you. Ok. I will ask you directly. Did Ishu behave nicely towards you?? I mean did she care about you??
Om: Yes. She cared a lot.
Gau: Did you feel it was fake??
Om: (confused) No!! Why are you asking this??
Gau: Just now my darling wife threw a bomb that she gave an idea to Ishu to take revenge on you.
Om: Woww!! That’s interesting. So what idea she gave??
Gau: Ishu couldn’t behave harshly with you as you were treating her nicely. She told Pooja and Avni about that. So Pooja asked Ishu to take revenge in a gentle way.
Om: (confused) Gentle way??
Gau: She asked Ishu to pretend to love you and care for you.
Om: And dump me later?? (Gautham nodded.)
Gau: Pooja just gave the idea but Ishu…. (Omkara burst into laughter making him confused.)
Om: Relax, Gautham. Ishana can pretend to hate a person but she can’t pretend to show fake care towards someone.
Gau: You are trusting her this much!!??
Om: Of course!! And she too believes me very much.
Gau: Ishu won’t trust someone easily but once she trusts the person, she will trust the person wholeheartedly. She always trusted you and that’s why she defended you when you were questioned for making her pregnant. (Omkara nodded.)
Om: Because she was raised by two men. So she couldn’t think low about other men. She thought everyone is the same as her friends. Her bad luck she met a horrible man like me.
Gau: No. You are not. You are her saviour. Maybe your way was wrong but you have been a guardian angel for her in our absence. I can say a ruthless guardian angel.
Om: (chuckled) Ruthless guardian angel. I like that name. (Gautham smiled.)
Inside the Ward
Ishu: Even though, he tortured me last time, he still cared for me. That night he wanted to care for me but I am the one who misunderstood that he was going to…. I am so stupid!! Do you know?? He said Mishti is his baby even though she is not. He didn’t let me talk bad about myself.
Pooja: Then, why did he behave like that last time?? I mean the way he married you, tortured you, poured the alcohol in your mouth.
Ishu: He said he was insane during that time. His pain because of losing Gauri made him do that. By the time he realised he was wrong, it was too late. He regretted a lot for his behaviour and he doesn’t want me to forgive him.
Pooja: So you are ready to forgive him?? (Ishana nodded.) After whatever he did to you??
Ishu: I wanted to but he is not allowing me. And this weekend he wanted to do a party where he will disclose the truth about my relationship with him and send me off from here. (Her face fell while saying this.)
Pooja: You don’t want to leave him?? (Ishana didn’t know how to answer her as she didn’t know the answer. OmGau entered the ward.)
Gau: Both of you were discussing something serious??
Pooja: Nothing like that. Gautham, I think Ishu is thirsty. Can you take her to the cafe and buy her a drink??
Om: I will take her. (Pooja signalled at Gautham through her eyes. He nodded his head.)
Gau: It’s ok, Om. I will take her. (Gautham took Ishana with him leaving Omkara and Pooja.)
Pooja: Please take your seat, Mr Omkara Singh Oberoi. (Omkara smiled and took his seat on a chair beside the bed.) Do you love Ishu??
Om: You are a straightforward person, unlike your husband.
Pooja: Officer Gautham is a straightforward person but Ishu’s friend Gautham will think first before asking or doing anything. Even Neil bhaiya is like that.
Om: How are you feeling now??
Pooja: Are you trying to change the topic??
Om: No. I was about to ask earlier but you asked me first.
Pooja: I’m fine. How are you??
Om: Fine too. Didn’t your husband tell you that I love Ishana??
Pooja: He did but I want to hear from you.
Om: Yes, I love her.
Pooja: When are you going to propose her??
Om: Should I??

Pooja: Do you know something, Mr Omkara?? Arrogant and ruthless man we can admire in movies and serials only. In real life, those types of characters are not admirable or acceptable.
Om: So, you mean to say that I am an arrogant and ruthless person.
Pooja: I thought like that. But Ishu said it was a mask worn by you. You are not like that. You are a simple, calm and composed person. In one word, I can say gentleman. (Omkara smiled.) You know what?? We will accept you even if you are arrogant and ruthless. (He looked at her in surprise.) Because you took a stand for her when her character was questioned. You didn’t let anyone badmouth her character. If I’m not wrong, that’s the reason you kept her inside Oberoi Mansion and didn’t let her go out alone. You don’t want anyone to talk bad about her. (Omkara is again surprised with her.)
Om: Were you really in coma?? (Pooja looked at him questioningly.) You are aware of a lot of stuffs.
Pooja: A coin is having two sides. The past which Ishu and Rudra told us are from their point of view. They too had misunderstood certain issues of which you are the only one who knows.
Om: This weekend I will disclose the truth that Ishana is my wife.
Pooja: She told me about that as well. I don’t know if Ishu has told you about this or not. Ishu doesn’t like the concept of marriage. She hated it and she didn’t want to get married at all. (Omkara was shocked. He didn’t know about this.) Her childhood was like that. (She hesitated to say.)
Om: Do you mean to say about her birth?? (Pooja nodded.) She told me before but she was half-conscious that time and she didn’t remember whatever she spoke to me. I realised how much that word affected her and I regretted badly about my deeds.
Pooja: We used to tell her that she will find her prince charming. But she will reply back that will happen in fairytales only not in real life. Life is full of roller coasters ride.
Om: Even after seeing four of you??
Pooja: The humiliation she faced being an illegitimate child since small made her believes that she is an ill-fated person. She thought that she doesn’t deserve to be loved. That’s why Gautham and Neil bhaiya always pamper her since she is small to show that she deserves to be loved.
Om: She deserves to be loved. How she could think that no one loves her??
Pooja: Of course she will think like that. You are going to do a send-off party this weekend for her. Then, how she will believe in love when her husband wants her to leave??

Pooja: Just now when Ishu said that you are going to do a farewell party for her, her face fell. She was not happy about it. Do you really love her?? (Omkara nodded.) Then, prove to her. (IshGau entered the ward.)
Gau: Both of you had a serious discussion it seems.
Pooja: It’s been some days since I was in coma. I felt like talking a lot. That’s why I talked with Omkara. He is a good listener.
Ishu: He is. Sir, I bought you a sandwich.
