Sailesh Gulabani seems to be in the best phase of his career where exactly after his successful stint in Imlie, the actor has now bagged a pivotal role in Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain. In a recent interview with BT, Sailesh talked about it and shared, “My journey in Imlie was short but I got good feedback for my performance. My character was grey and in the new show, I am the antagonist.”
Taking about being stereotyped he shares, “My focus is on doing good work rather than worrying about getting typecast. I am here to act and not fear the perception. People remember you for your good work and that translates into more opportunities.”
Sailesh feels that he hasn’t got his due yet but he is hopeful that he will finally be recognized for his talent. “I have been part of good shows and have done good work but I feel that I have not got my due yet. I also feel that my best is yet to come. So, I am waiting for that one character, which will be the turning point in my career. I put in my 100 per cent believing that the part I am playing at that moment is the game-changer and leave the rest to destiny.”
He adds, “At a time, when people are struggling to find work, God has been kind to bless me with one more opportunity. Surviving in this profession for more than a decade without any support or backing is no mean feat. I feel fortunate that after very long I am being offered good work. Being in this profession for more than a decade, I feel it’s time for me to grow as an actor and take up characters that stay with the audience for long. I am manifesting good opportunities and keeping my process simple. I want to play characters jo ek show mein drama aur masala laate ho. Even if it’s negative, my track and the graph of my character should shock the audience. IMSJH is a new journey and I am excited about working with producer Saurabh Tewari. He is known for backing great content.”
