Imlie fame Zohaib Siddiqui opens up about a fake casting experience; says, “I sensed their fishy intentions”
Casting scams have been a huge menace that many actors, especially newcomers face. Actor Zohaib Siddiqui, who is currently essaying the role of Dhairya in Imlie talked about it in a recent interview and revealed that once he got saved from falling for a fake casting scam.
He said, “It happened when I was new in the industry and didn’t know much about how things work here. I was in search of work those days and once, I read an advertisement in the newspaper about acting and modeling. I went to their office with the help of the address, which was mentioned in the newspaper and told them about my wish to work in the industry. During a meeting with them, they asked me to deposit a certain amount of money for auditions, and in return, they would get me roles for which I would have to pay later on. I sensed their fishy intentions of duping money from me when they told me about their scheme of work which was all based on money. Thankfully, I got out of their office, otherwise, they would have tricked me.”
When asked for advice for newcomers, Zohaib replied, “One thing I knew about this industry was, you don’t have to pay any money to any casting agent. Post that incident, I used to be very cautious while going for auditions or visiting someone for a meeting. Nowadays, casting scams have increased so much that it’s hard to figure out the fraudsters. My advice to every aspiring actor is to be aware of fraudsters and never pay money to an unknown person on the pretext of getting work.”
On the professional front, Zohaib is also known for his performance in shows like Sadda Haq and Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke. He has also acted in shows like Suryaputra Karan, Karmaphal Daata Shani, Radha Krishna, and many more.
