Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan and first runner-up Arunita Kanjilal, who are currently on a tour in the US have landed in an unanticipated problem.
The duo is facing legal trouble for refusing to shoot and promote the music album by M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
According to the legal note, Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association were approached by M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd. wherein they informed that M/s Sony Pictures Network India Private Limited had entered into an agreement with them for providing services of Pawandeep and Arunita, winners of Indian Idol 2021, who was signed by their member for a romantic album of 20 songs.
According to the agreement, “Sony had agreed to provide services of both the artistes and the commitment was made before they became the winners of Indian Idol. Their member at great expense had announced the launch of the album at a press conference but the artists did not cooperate with the producer after shooting for one song.”
According to the reports, Pawandeep and Arunita stopped cooperating with the producer despite Sony’s commitment.
When Sony was informed they were supportive of the artist. IMPPA also asked Sony for their comments but they refused to do so stating that this particular company of Sony was not a member of IMPPA. They also mentioned that this particular company only deals with producer members for matters of films, web series as well as serials.
Amidst all this, IMPPA has requested them to ensure that no injustice is done to the producers.
