A Beautiful Imagination…..
“Shikha !!”
“Urgh ! Not again !!”
The girl grumbled under her breath, annoyed.
“What mom?!!”
“Look at the time. Where were you? And why was your number switched off? You know how worri-”
“Yeah, sure !!” The girl scoffed at the statement.
Sarcasm dripping from her words.
“Don’t start this again Shikha. I’m your mother and you ARE going to answer me, young lady.”
“Just go to your favourite daughter mom. SISTER dearest, needs you after all.”
The word spitted out of her mouth venomously like it tasted acid on her tongue.
“And oh, by the way, I was out to meet your future son-in-law by the way.”
Sprinting up the stairs, before Disha Thakur had the chance to utter another word.
*****//////
“Sir !! Sir!! You cannot enter the boss’s cabin like this. Please try to understand.”
The woman pleaded, afraid of the outcome.
Her boss sure is a short tempered man.
Sighing, as she figured out the man is not going to pay heed to any of her request, she settled herself on her desk waiting for what’s to come next.
The fairly attractive young lad in his mid 20s, didn’t bother to knock, barging in straight inside.
“What’s with everyone today? Barging in my office like that !!”
The annoyed voice of his cousin-cum-best friend made him roll his eyes.
Sighing, as he continued to stare at the man sitting across him, staring back at him with his usual blank demeanour.
An eyebrow cocked questionably in his direction was the only answer he got.
“You’re getting married.”
It wasn’t a question but a statement.
An accusation that his best friend didn’t even bother to inform him.
5 Minutes Later –
“So you mean to say, that your are going to marry just for money?”
Asked, Aditya Divan completely baffled. Eyes wide as he looked up at the figure sitting comfortably across him.
And the smirk creeping up near the corner of his companion’s lips was enough to confirm his speculation with the black bold letters of the word TRUTH.
“That means you would marry any girl just for money?”
“Depends.”
His response so casual as if the duo were discussing about weather rather than a soon-to-be marriage ceremony.”
“You know what? You seriously ARE impossible.”
Muttered Aditya, shaking his head in disbelief at his best friend.
“Think whatever you want to Adi. But I will not let something that rightfully belongs to me slip right through my hands.”
“But-”
“You know how possessive I’m over something that’s mine. I worked hard to be at the position I am. I’m going to be the CEO of Maheswari Empire and if I’ve to marry a girl to get that then I seriously don’t give a damn.”
“But why the hell is uncle so adamant about your marriage?”
“I don’t know. He just ordered me to marry or he would hand over my position to someone else.”
“Like I would ever let that happen.”
One hand tucked inside the pocket while he stood near the window, gazing down at the surrounding.
Sipping his wine while he contemplate everything once again.
A habit he had acquired from childhood.
He tends to think a lot.
Thinking over and over again before coursing the plan into action.
“Okay I get it. But it’s marriage we are talking about Sanskar. You and Shikha, you guys would’ve to live your whole life together.”
“I don’t care Adi. She needs money, designer clothes, or whatever else. I’ll provide her everything as long as she knows her limits.”
“It doesn’t work like that Sanskar. Urgh! Why are you so damn stubborn!!! ”
The guy yelled, agitated with the stuck up situation.
“What do you even know about her?!!”
The question escaping his lips before he even had the time to comprehend.
“I doesn’t need to know anything, my dear cousin. I need a girl to marry with and she seems to be the perfect choice. Beautiful, sophisticated, though spoiled, but that can be managed. Her family includes her parents and her bade papa (elder brother of her father). I don’t need -”
“And her sister?”
“Sister? I didn’t knew that Shikha Thakur had a sister.”
Eye brow raised curiously, as he waited for an answer.
“Shit!!”
Aditya Divan cursed under his breath.
“How could you Adi?”
Tensed, he silently berated himself over his slip up.
Don’t get him wrong.
As a best friend, he sure as hell want Sanskar to marry someone who want hims for who he is and not for his looks. Not a selfish, conceited girl like Shikha but someone else.
Someone innocent.
But that someone can’t be her.
NOT HER.
She is way too innocent and selfless for him.
Lips curling into a smile as an image of her, appears before his eyes.
A girl that he had come to love as his own little sister.
It would take him just a couple of minutes to crush her.
Smile vanishing instantly at the thought.
He promised himself that he would protect her.
Even from his best friend.
“Umm. No one. Just the daughter of her Bade Papa. Shikha’s cousin sister.”
Clearing his throat, he sighed in relief when Sanskar didn’t pressed over the matter anymore.
“So Uh, I have somewhere to go. See you then.”
With that he practically sprinted out of the cabin before Sanskar had the chance to question his weird behavior.
******///////
Stepping inside, he was about to head upstairs but halted mid steps when his gaze fell on an upset Disha.
“Hey, what happened pretty lady!!”
He joked teasingly, trying to lighten up the mood.
“She is slipping out of my hands Adi. My own daughter hates me.”
“Hey, look at me.”
He said as he coaxed her to face him.
“It’s nothing like that Disha ma. You know how she is right. Don’t worry too much.”
“This is Shikha Thakur after all.” He exclaimed in a high pitched girly voice, imitating the infamous quote of the girl herself.
“Hatt badmash!!!”
Disha smiled, playfully slapping his arm.
“And where is our junior Ms. Thakur?”
He asked, trying to hold back a smile.
A petite figure hiding behind one of the nearest pillars.
******////////
“I’ll wait for that day, Sanskar.”
Shaking his head, an amused smile playing on his lips as he drove through the almost vaccant roads of Mumbai late at night.
His grandfather’s words playing in his mind.
Stopping at the red signal, he lazily tapped on the steering wheel, waiting patiently for the light to turn green.
If it would have been any other day, he sure as hell would have not wasted a single second before breaking the signal, but this day was different.
After a lot of hard work one of his mega project finally kick started, leaving him in quite an unusual happy mood.
Looking around carelessly through the window pane, something caught his eye.
Or a someone, to be more specific.
A girl.
Cladded in a baby pink dress as she scooted down on the grassy area.
Though he could only see half of her face from where he was at, but it was enough to have him mesmerize.
Sure, he had been with several super models before.
What else do you expect from a Casanova after all?!!
But none of them could be compared to her.
For sure, all of them were stunning but this girl before him.
How to put it?
She’s different.
Innocent even.
Distracted, charcoal back orbs searched frantically for any sign of the unknown Angel.
Just seconds before she was there and now she is not.
“Damn it!! ”
He cursed slamming his fist angrily on the wheel.
Seething.
A car horn from behind successfully broke him out of his stupor before he even had the chance to step out.
“What the hell?!!”
He screamed internally at himself.
“Why the hell am I even caring about that girl?”
“I’m officially going crazy.”
“Damn that old man for getting to me!!”
“Why would there be someone in the park at freaking 1o’ clock anyways?!!!”
“Curse my imagination !!”
Speeding up the car for the second time, as he headed for his mansion.
The night incident all forgotten.
A Beautiful Imagination………OR……..A Gorgeous Reality.
WHO IS SHE?!!!
