Previous Episodes
So let’s start with the second episode.
The engagement of sanskar- ragini was fixed after four days. Both the families were overloaded with work. They all first sent invitations to important guests and family members. The engagement was decided to be done in a hotel as arrangements in such short time couldn’t be done at home. Cateres, decoration, security and other arrangements responsibility was equally done by both the families.
The night before engagement-
Swaragini and shekhar- shomi were on video chat with someone.
Swara- di- jiju how good it would had been naa if you all could be here. It’s all happening too fast. [will reveal their identity in further episodes when their role will come]
Shomi- shona you know her condition and then too.
Swara sat with a sad pout.
Shomi- beta you don’t worry about anything now. first preference is your health.
Swara- ankur what about you all. Will you reach before marriage or not.
Ankur- shona I have got tickets but on that ticket we will reach their on the marriage day and that too evening. I am trying that we get tickets of earlier date. What was the need to fix marriage in 10 days. I didn’t came here and you all fixed ragu di’s marriage and such date that I have so many problems to reach and attend it. Being part of other rituals I can’t even think. Huh! I was returning after 14 days naa then you could have kept marriage. It was a matter of shifting marriage for a week.
Swara- I did it deliberately or what. Did I know that ragu di will just be here with me for 10 more days only.
Ragini hearing their conversation started crying.
Shomi- ragu baccha what happened. Shona- ankur will you both please stop.
Swara- ankur- sorry di. [swara too started sniffing]
Jiju [from other side]- hey ragu… we can’t attend the marriage but we will wish for your married life. Please forgive us. Hey ragu listen naa. Stop crying. Shona atleast you don’t cry.
Swara- I am not crying.
Ankur- haan haan those tears just dropped from the sky and found only your cheeks to land on.
Swara- tu mujhe kyun suna raha hai. [why are you taunting me] see di is also crying. Those drops landed on her cheeks too.
Ankur- joke toh accha mar liya kar. [at least tell good jokes]
Swara- main joker thodi hun. [I am not a joker]
Ankur- hoti toh bilkul flop hoti. [if you would have been one by mistake then you would have been a flop.]
Ragini laughed a bit on their talks.
Ragini- tum dono hi bilkul flop hote. [both of you would have been a flop] only di has the ability to be a good one.
di- was it a compliment or are you making my fun.
Ragini- no di pure compliment. Sacchi [touched her throat]
di- awww my innocent ragu. What are you so innocent baby. accha everything apart, sorry ragu because of me you got sad and I can’t come there.
Ragini- no di it’s ok. I understand. You just bless me. That’s all I need.
Shekhar- arrree beta we all are here too. actually sitting with you youngsters we don’t have any value.
Kunal- [man of same age as shekhar spoke from other side]- you said correct shekhar ji.
Swara- if you both are agreeing that you have grown old then we are understanding it.
Kunal- who is old here.
Swara- now only you said, sitting with you youngsters, what does it mean that you consider yourself old.
ankur- correct shona.
Kunal- what correct. Idiot.
Ankur- dad why do you love calling me that. Everytime. I am grown up now. please stop calling me that.
Kunal- beta I will call you the same in front of your wife too. you don’t worry about that.
Ankur- mom…
Anita- kunal don’t call him idiot please.
Ankur- mom?
Everyone laughed.
Kunal- shekhar ji I will try that we get there before marriage and help you with preparations and attend our ragu’s most special day. Good night to you all.

Engagement day-
Engagement venue- BLUE PARADISE HOTEL [fictitious]
Everything was ready. Guests were filled at the venue. Everyone was waiting for the engagement to begin.
Swara was with ragini and both were almost ready and looking beautiful. Swara was wearing a pink and white coloured lehnga with a heavy embroidered dupatta, looking just like a fairy. And ragini was wearing a dark red lehnga with red dupatta and she too was not less than swara. Shomi came to call them downstairs. On seeing ragini ready for the engagement, she became emotional.
Shomi- you are looking beautiful ragu. Can’t believe my so cute small ragu grew this much that in few days she will have her own new family.
Ragini became emotional and hugged shomi.
Ragini- maa I will be your ragu always.
Swara- [not wanting to cry] oh god! Means how much more will you both cry and speak same dialogues. [teasingly] di your would be husband must be waiting downstairs. I hope he doesn’t get annoyed waiting for so long and chose some other bride and here you both keep on being emotional.
Shomi- [scolded swara] shona how many times have I said you we should not speak such things.
Swara- I was just joking maa.
Shomi- sometimes jokes too come true. Don’t know when maa saraswati reside on our tongue. Grow up.
Swara- [understanding] sorry maa. Sorry ragu di.
Ragini- what maa, scolded her for such a small matter.
Swara- leave all that. Come let’s go. Everyone must be waiting. I know maa would have come here to call us only.
Shomi- yes. Come beta.
In the hall-
Ap saw ragini approaching. She made the announcement grabbing everyone’s attention and sanskar with maheshwari family came on the stage and gadodias too reached the stage.
A lady from the guests spoke—- [joked] trend is that bride and groom have matching dress codes but here bride’s sister and groom dress is matching. [and giggled]
Sanskar was wearing pink kurta with embroidery and white pajama. Hearing the ladies comment, swasan looked at each other and were embarrassed. others too looked at them.
Another lady- no problem is there. Haven’t you heard “saaali aadhi gharwali”
Dadi got angry by the comment.
Dadi- [scolding swara but heard by family members and mm family on stage] swara can’t you be away from creating problems. Now see what happened. People got matter to speak and joke about.
Swara- sorry dadi. I didn’t know…. [tears formed in her eyes] i.. I will change and come.
Swara was about to go but ragini held her hand.
Ragini- shona don’t be sad. You only say naa that people are meant to speak even if there’s no point. So why to get affected. And you chose to wear this dress specially for my engagement. And I know what all you have done for this dress. And there are so many people who wore same colour dresses. There is no point in their talks. Stay here and be in your jolly mood. You look good in that way only.
Both hugged each other.
Dadi- but…
Ragini – [requesting] please dadimaa.
Dadi nodded.
Swara- [teasingly] di I was waiting to see your engagement. But if you want to keep hugging me then I don’t have problem.
Everyone smiled hearing swara.
Swara- [to ap] auntiji di [ragini broke the hug] what happened di.
Shomi- shona stop it now. apji let’s start the engagement if you say.
Ap- ji
Swara- I will get the ring.
Swara came with ring for sanskar and uttara with ring for ragini.
Panditji chanted some mantras and then asked them to proceed for ring exchange.
Ap- ragini beta first you make sanskar wear the ring.
Swara forwarded the plate. But when ragini was about to take the ring, swara pulled back the plate.
Swara- aa unnhh di not so easily. Hmmm di after the ring ceremony you will become a part of that family. So I will have lesser rights on you. So I should get something to compensate it naa. So tell me di. Are you ready to give that to me.
One of swara’s cousin- but swara we should ask this from jiju naa.
Swara- yes but that will be on marriage day. Today let me settle my deal with di.
Ragini gestured what.
Swara- this year that I wanted on my birthday, I want it now, because birthday is still far. Done deal.
Ragini nodded.
Swara- ok then take this.
Swara gave the ring to ragini. And ragini made sanskar wear the ring. When sanskar was about to take the ring from plate on ap’s saying uttara too pulled back the plate.
Uttara- bhaiyaa I also want something.
Sanskar- [smiled at uttara] what do you want?
Uttara- I didn’t thought. Wait let me think. Yes… after graduation I need my own car.
Sanskar- ok.
Uttara- wow. You are the best bhaiyaa. [to swara] thank you swara di for this amazing idea.
Swara- anytime. [both laughed and hified each other]
Sanskar ignored swara but was happy seeing uttara happy. Sanskar made ragini wear the ring.
After the function got over and guests departed. Mf and gf family along with some relatives were present there.
Dp- the function went well.
Shekhar- ji dp ji. Now we will have to see for the further preparations.
Dp- what tension you have shekhar ji. You have your wedding planner, your daughter swara with you. Just because of her plan and positivity we all did our works efficiently and completed it on time.
Swara- uncle it was nothing like that. It’s you all who worked and falsely giving credits to me.
Dp- I am saying the truth beta. [ to shekhar] shekhar ji we are blessed that we will get your daughter ragini as our daughter in law. It is said naa that ‘laxmi ke aane se khushhali aati hai’. We got a laxmi as our daughter uttara and now we will get ragini as the laxmi of our house.
Shekhar- it’s your greatness dpji.
dp- so swara beta. Tell us the plan for the coming functions. At least with your layout we can manage things in our home.
Swara- uncle today’s layout is go and sleep soundly with happiness as the two families are bound together and the function was successful. Rest we will start our work tomorrow.
Dp- [blessed swara] be happy always.
Dp- shekhar ji we will take your leave now. Namaste.
Ragini took blessing from maheshwari’s. Mf was leaving and gadodia’s were also leaving.
Swara- di my purse.
Ragini- I don’t know shona. It was with you naa.
Swara- haan but now it isn’t with me. Oh god I remember, I left in the room itself. I will go and get it. Just wait for five minutes.
Dadi- this will only happen if you will be busy in doing masti all the time.
Swara- ohho dadi. If I will not do masti then who will do. I can’t do masti in your age naa.
Dadi- what did you say?
Swara- [pulled dadi’s cheeks] nothing dadi. Chill. I will bring my purse just in a minute.
Swara ran from there before dadi can scold him. Mf saw this and were rejoiced by swara’s lively nature.
Dp- purna where is sanskar.
Ap- he got a call. He will just come.
Dp nodded.
While going inside swara dashed with sanskar who was coming out. Sanskar held her before she fell down.
Swara- aahhhh…. [she breathed in relief as she didn’t fall] thank god.
Sanskar smirked seeing swara and left her and she fell on floor with a thud.
Swara- ouch..
She saw sanskar with shocked and unbelievable look.
Swara- why you did this? At least should have let me stand. [aapne aisa kyun kiya. Kam se kam mujhe khada toh hone dete]
Sanskar- I held you as I didn’t know it was you. When I knew I just left you.
Swara- what. What’s your problem with me. You are going to marry my di. We will be a family soon but you are still being angry on me. I thought that you would have forgotten the rift between yes.
Sanskar- whatever…
He walked away from there.
Swara- what is this happening. God it is so confusing, actually he is so confusing. I swear if he wouldn’t have been my di’s would be naa, I would have shown him what swara gadodia is.
Swara- calm down swara. You can’t think like that. He is the one to marry ragu di. You can’t and shouldn’t have fight with him. Try and mend your relation with him. But for now let’s get my purse.
She stood and dusted herself. Taking her purse she came to family and all left towards their homes.

4 days later-
It was sangeet and mehndi ceremony the same day and it was held at gadodia house. House was filled with guests and soon the maheshwari’s arrived. Mehndi began with annapurna applying mehndi on ragini’s hand followed by sujata and then shomi and parvati. A little while later an announcement was made by someone and the function of sangeet began.
Announcer- so ladies and gentleman we begin the sangeet with the first special performance for the bride and groom. Don’t mind if we do any mistake or you didn’t like our performance. It’s just a little effort from us for you both.
No one could see on the stage as it was dark.
Sujata- didi why do I feel that one voice was of uttara.
Ap- it was uttara only.
Parvati [dadi]- I hope swara don’t do any kind of blunder. It’s all her plan for sure.
Shekhar- maa whatever she will do will be for ragini. You don’t worry.
Just then a photo displayed on the screen at the side of stage. That photo was of ragini getting mehndi applied and the other half of photo contained sanskar’s pic and that too their photo was of the present function.
A spot light fell on a girl and she was revealed to be swara with a girl sitting beside her shown as she was applying mehndi on swara’s hand.
Another spot light fell on someone else looked like a boy but seeing the face it was revealed to be uttara in boy’s attire or more particularly in sanskar’s look with a sehra on her head.
Swara was playing the role of ragini and sanskar of swara. Song was played in the background and uttara [sanskar in act] pointed finger at swara [ragini in act] and came dancing to her.

Swara made dadi sit beside ragini and dadi hugged ragini sideways.

Swara and uttara held hands and made rounds on the stage.
Everyone clapped hands for the beautiful performance.
Swara- [huffing] stop stop stop. The show doesn’t ends here. We will be back in some minutes. So till then wait for us.
Swara- uttara after 5 mintues came back on stage and the stage set up was somewhat made like a bedroom. A table with some cosmetics was kept on table. On the other end of the stage, two low height tables were joined and covered with sheet looking like a bed.
Swara- so here is the next performance by us.
The stage was lighted. The screen on the side showed ‘JUST AFTER MARRIAGE’.
Swara and uttara were on stage. Uttara was in a corner sitting on chair with a file [showing uttara in office]. Swara was sitting on bed in home. She received calls from uttara every 2-3 hours.
An evening scene with clock showing 6 pm.
Uttara came from office a little early. swara- uttara Both sat together and talked a while. Then they had dinner together.
Lights went off and the screen showed ‘AFTER ABOUT 2 YEARS’ light were on and swara and uttara were shown on stage.
Swara- [giving watch to uttara] you are going early.
Uttara [sanskar]- yaa have little work to be done and deadline is near.
Swara- accha listen.
Uttara- not now. later. Bye.
Clock was shown showing 12 noon. Swara was shown calling someone but no one received. Now time was shown 2 pm and yet again when swara called that person no one received and same happened at 5pm and 8 pm.
Swara- are why isn’t he picking my call. Let him come I am not going to talk to him.
Time was shown 9 pm and Swara was shown removing her bangles and kept on table. Just then uttara [in sanskar’s get-up] came and held her from shoulders. Swara removed her hand and moved away from uttara.
Uttara- listen naa I had work.
Swara- so be in office only.
Uttara- arree but…

Uttara just neglected her plea by saying nothing is left to hear.

Swara [ragini in act] pleaded in a little warning tone.

Uttara just showed attitude as she [in act he] knows what she wants to say.
ARREE BAAT MERI SUNIYE TOH ZARA
Swara again in helpless way pleadingly asked to listen her.
PHIR MILENGE WAQT AGAR MILA
Uttara walked of the stage saying will listen if I get time.
PAR BAAT MERI…..
Swara tried stopping him to listen but uttara already went. Swara helplessly stomped her foot on the stage. The next scene was shown where swara served food to uttara. Uttara started eating. Swara tapped her shoulders. Uttara looked at her. Swara held one ear and said sorry.
Uttara- I am sorry too.
Both smiled and started eating. Light went off. Everyone clapped for the performance.
Swara and uttara came on stage and lights were on-
Swara- we are sorry if we did any mistake.
Uttara- it was just for fun and nothing serious.
Swara- but say truthfully isn’t it the story of everyone. Not 100% but 25% minimum. Accha leaving all that it was just for enjoyment.
Uttara- bhaiyaa- bhabhi I hope you both enjoyed and aren’t angry on us.
Swara- yaa I was about to say the same. Sorry for our little mischief but we are younger naa so we can be forgiven.
Uttara- yaa and one more thing- we will right back with our last performance in just few minutes and you all have to join us.

Annapurna- we didn’t know. When did swara and uttara planned all this.
Shomi- Annapurna ji she is like this only. Always mischief. Please don’t mind whatever she presented on the stage.
Annapurna- arree no no. I appreciate it. Infact I miss this kind of atmosphere in my home. Uttara and laksh live in usa for their studies and sanskar is busy with his business. When they were small, they were even more mischievous.
Sujata- didi is saying correct. When they were small every day they had to do some mischief or would surely make a mess of the hall. But children have grown now.
When they were talking a song played and stage was illuminated with various colour lights. But no one was there on stage.
A spot light fell over ragini and swara came and sat beside her.

Swara made everyone dance on the song. All the family members who were present in the function danced. Swara made ragini stand in the middle and everyone danced around her making rounds. Swara even pulled maheshwari’s during the dance. The environment was quite joyous.
After the performances, ragini called swara and made her sit beside herself.
Swara- what happened di? Do you want anything?
Ragini- no. Why haven’t you put mehndi on your hands. You love putting mehndi.
Swara- ohho di I will put it later. Now I have lots of work.
Ragini- no I am not listening anything. Now get it done.

Ragini- shut up. Wait a minute. [to the mehndi girl who was putting mehndi on her hand] just wait for a few minutes and give me the cone.
Ragini took the cone from her.
Ragini [to swara]- forward your hand.

Ragini with her free hand put some designs on swara’s hand.
Swara with a pout said— di listen naa.
Ragini- what happened?
Swara- you know naa I love putting mehndi a lot [ragini hummed] toh give the cone to me please. With one hand free it is disturbing for you to apply and me to see the beautiful mehndi design with each line shivering in cold.
Ragini looked up at swara who was seeing ragini already.

Swara- awww cholly. [holding one ear] but you know naa mehndi.
Ragini- haan your mehndi. [shaked her head smilingly] people can do anything for food, clothes, chocolates but this girl has only one fond and that too that her mehndi should be perfect. Wow god what a sister you gave. Antique piece , crazy for perfect mehndi.

Ragini- so that you can learn to love yourself a little atleast.
Swara- such lame purpose di. Don’t you know I love myself the most.
Ragini- [giving sarcastic smile] who will know better than me [hit her head lightly while swara was smiling] pagal. Laga mehndi.
Swara- ohk.
Mehndi was beautifully carved on ragini’s hands and legs and swara was no less. She herself applied a beautiful design on her one hand till elbow.
Shomi- shona where are the gifts I asked you to keep for the maheshwari family.
Swara- maa it’s in that room. If you want I will get them for you.
Shomi- haan you bring them. Guests are going and soon the family will also take leave so it would be better.
Swara- ok
Swara was going towards the room while instructing hari kaka to take out gifts from the cupboard when she dashed with sanskar who was on a call walking towards swara. Both didn’t see each other and hence the result. Swara shrieked.
Swara- ouch….. who is this? [before seeing the person see looked at her mehndi which got a little wiped off and made an angry crying face] my …. My mehndi… can’t you see and wal…k.
She looked at sanskar and bite her tounge.
Swara- [in mind]oops siyappa . why do I strike with him only. Now god help please.
Swara- [to sanskar who was glaring her] i…. I am sorry.
Sanskar- [speaking on the call] lucky I will call back in 5 minutes. [and he hang the call]

Swara- [to hari kaka] aa… aab hari kaka [taking the tucked bunch of keys from near her waste] take this and please take out the packets carefully.
Hari kaka went. Sanskar too was going from there. Seeing him going swara asked him.

Forgive me for saying so much to you but I really didn’t intended to say that much. Now you are going to marry my di and I don’t want any negative impact of that one incident on anyone’s life. So do you agree to forgive me and end this matter here itself. [said in a breath and breathed in to relax herself and looked at him with hope.]
Sanskar just looked at her as she spoke everything in a breath.
Swara- what are you thinking. Please say something.
Sanskar- so you accept that it was your fault that day.
Swara- [frowned] no. I just should have been calm and that’s the only thing I am saying sorry for.
Sanskar- [amused] oh so you mean that you were right at your place?
Swara- yes… I mean not completely, I souldn’t have spoken so much to you.
Sanskar- you are sorry for that even because I am marrying your sister.
Swara- please don’t involve me in your word games. Whatever I had to say I have said. Our families are going to be bound in a relationship and I don’t want my di to face any problem because of me. That’s it. The accident was not entirely my fault and because of what you said I spoke ill to you and I am sorry for just that. And that is what I am just trying to say. i….

Swara- maa… [to shomi] yes maa coming. [to sanskar] I am sorry. Please consider it and end the matter. I want my di’s and others happiness that’s it. Please. Now I need to go [she said an left to shomi]
Sanskar looked at her going and he too left from there.
The mehndi ceremony came to an end and maheshwari left from there.
In maheshwari house-
Sanskar- mom [ap] , choti maa [sujata] lucky is on call. [forwarding the mobile]
Sujata took the mobile while ap held sanskar’s hand.

Ragini- shona how your mehndi got spoiled.
Swara- oh di thanks to god that only this little is spoiled which I immediately corrected. My beautiful mehndi.
Ragini shaked her head at swara’s drama.
Swara- don’t shake your head. show your hands and let me apply little oil on it then I will apply mehndi on my other hand. it’s still empty.
