CHAPTER 41
CITY HOSPITAL
All rush towards the doctor…
Sid: Doctor, how is my sister?? Is she fine??
Doc: She is out of danger… As I said before, she is lucky that the chandelier fell on half of her body… She might not be saved if it has fallen on whole of her body… But, her right side of her body is terribly injured and it will take more time to fully cure… Some of her wounds are very deep especially on her neck, arm and waist… Those have to handle with care and need to be dressed properly…
Om: Can we see go and see her now??
Doc: Not now, Mr Oberoi… We will shift her to another ward in a while… You can go and see her then… (Omkara nods) But, don’t disturb her… She is still unconscious due to the sedative we given her…
Doc: (towards Raichands) If you don’t mind, can I ask you something??
Sid: Sure doctor…
Doc: Is she having any problem with her right hand??
Arjun: Why are you asking this question??
Doc: Because when I was checking her hand, I realised her hand is already weak… This incident make it become more worse… That is why I’m asking…
Karan: Her hand used to get shiver before… But, now sometimes only it happens…
Doc: What is the cause for that??
Arjun: She met with an accident few years back… Since then, she is having this problem… But, we thought it’s because she is traumatized with the accident…
Doc: (gives a confused look) Accident?? Are you sure it was because of an accident??
Swet: We heard like that only… Moreover, she doesn’t remember the accident… So, we didn’t ask her anything regarding that…
Ranveer: But, why are you asking that??
Doc: Nothing… Just asking… See you later… (The doctor leaves from there… RanRaDuKa look each other confusingly…)
Savitri: Thank God our Ishu is safe… Now only I’m feeling relieved…
Kalyani: (hugs her shoulder) Our prayers didn’t go waste…
SweNiTiMi hug each other… RaDuKa hug ArSidRan…
Arjun: (Remembers something) Oh, God!!! (All look at him confusingly) Madhu!! (Ranveer too remembers and they run from there… The youngsters too follow them leaving the elders…)
Madhu is still praying hard closing her eyes… Karthika just looking at her worriedly… His mobile beeps… He takes his mobile and reads the message he received from Ranveer saying his Ishu maa is fine… He feels happy and goes towards Madhu…
Karthika: Madhu, your Ishu is safe… The God listened to your prayer… You can end your prayer now… Let’s go and see her… (Madhu is not moving from her position… Karthik is confused to see her like that… He shakes her shoulder and she falls from her kneeling position on the floor unconscious… Karthik is shocked and recalls her last statement when she was praying… He lifts her slightly and screams…) Madhu!!!
ArRan just came and shocked to see Madhu collapsed… They run towards them… SidLana, RaDuKa, NiTiMi, ShivIka, RuMya and OmPri too came there… RaDuKa check Madhu… Swetlana brings a glass of water and gives to RaDuKa… Karthik sprinkles some water on her face… Madhu gets conscious after a while… Karthik feels relieved and hugs her…
Madhu: (weakly) Ishu… Ishu…
Arjun: (cups her face) Ishu is fine, Madhu… Your prayer is listened by her…(pointing towards Lord Durga’s idole… All folds their hands looking at the idole… NiTiMi makes Madhu to stand…)
Shivaay: Are you alright, Madhu??
Madhu: Yes, sir… I’m alright… I want to see Ishu…
Sid: We can see her after they shift her to normal ward… Let’s go now… Our family are waiting for us… (All started to move but Madhu stops remembering something) What happened, Madhu??
Madhu: Karthik… I heard Karthik’s voice… (Karthik and PriRanRaDuKa are shocked and look each other)
Arjun: Karthik?? He is not here, Madhu… I tried to call him to inform about Ishu but that idiot didn’t answer…
Madhu: But, I heard his voice…
Ranveer: You must have dreamed, Madhu… Karthik is not here… (Whispers to Madhu) I think you are missing your man very much… If you want, I will call and ask him to come here… (Madhu punched his arm)
Sid: What are you whispering to her??
Ranveer: I told her that I will call and ask him to come here…
Madhu: No, bhaiya… Don’t tell him about Ishu… He will worry a lot…
Sid: Yeah… You are right… It will be good if we hide this matter from him for few days… At least, till Ishu get well… Now, let’s go to our family…
Shivaay: (towards RaDuKa) Why did she faint just now??
Dush: She is very much exhausted with the happening… That’s why… Now, she is fine…
Ishana has been shifted to normal ward… Omkara wants to go and see her but controls himself and let the Raichands to go first… They go inside and cry looking at Ishana who is lying lifelessly on the bed with bandages on many parts of her body… They too feel pain looking at her wound… Arjun goes near her and kisses her forehead… He goes out and burst into tears… ShiOmRu are surprised to see him in tears… The person who been a pillar of support for his family just now is crying badly…
Shivaay: You asked everyone to be strong but now you are crying… Your sister is fine now…
Arjun: I know, Shivaay… But, I can’t control myself seeing her in this condition… She can’t bear a single cut on her finger… She will scream like hell… Now, she is having these many wounds on herself… Poor girl… How much she must have suffered?? (Cries… Omkara recalls the day when she accidentally cuts her finger… She wailed in pain and refused to take antiseptic because it will burn a lot… Now, she bear the pain because of saving him… He closed his eyes feeling guilty…)
The Raichands come out from the Ward and ask the Oberois to go and see Ishana… Omkara is the first one to rush inside… He feels bad looking at Ishana’s pale face with bandage almost everywhere on her body… He cursed himself for scolding her… ShiRu console him… AniSouPri, Kalyani and JhaNky too cry looking at Ishana… TejSak console them… They leave from the ward after a while but Omkara’s mind still thinking about Ishana…
Nurse: Either one of you can stay here… Others can come tomorrow…
Tia: Sister, please let us to stay here… We will not trouble you… At least until she gain conscious… Please…
Nurse: (feels bad) I’m sorry, mam… But, we can’t break the hospital’s rules… Besides, your sister will not be conscious till morning… It will be good if you go back and rest for sometime…
Arjun: She is right… All of you are very exhausted… It’s better if you go back and rest for sometime… I’ll be staying here…
Swet: It’s ok, Arjun… You just came here from Chennai… You must be very tired too… So, you go back and I will stay here with Ishu…
Madhu: No, bhabhi… You need to take rest… I’ll stay with Ishu…
Ranveer: (teasingly) Oh, really?? Look who is talking!!! You made us scared by fainting just now… You are saying that you are going to stay with her?? The nurse will have double work if you stay here… She have to take care of Ishu as well as you… (Madhu slaps his arm while the others chuckle looking at them) See… All of you are tired of crying for long hours… I think it’s better if Arjun or me staying here…
Sid: (looks at Priyanka) Ranveer, let Arjun stay here… You are coming back with us…
Arjun: You are right, bhaiya… That’s why I’m asking you all to go back… (All agree with Arjun and start to leave… Omkara doesn’t want to leave but he can’t say to them…)
Ranveer: (before leaves) Call me if anything…
Arjun: Ranveer, Priyanka is very much worried with today’s incident… Be with her… That’s why I asked you all to go back… Not only her but all of our girls are very much disturbed… They need their partners with them…
Ranveer: (looks at Priyanka who is talking with AniSou) Ok, Arjun… I’ll come in the morning… (All leave from the hospital leaving Arjun)
OBEROI MANSION
Omkara’s room
Omkara is restless thinking about Ishana… All the moments he spent with her are flashing in his mind… He recalls how she screamed his name and pushed him from getting hit by the chandelier… He gets up from his bed and goes to washroom…
Priyanka’s room
Priyanka is crying thinking of today’s event… A hand wipes her tears… She turns and looks at Ranveer who is sitting beside her… She hugs Ranveer…
Prinku: I’m sorry, Ranveer… All because of me… If I didn’t ask for this function, these wouldn’t have happen… It’s because of me… (Slapping her face)
Ranveer: (holds her hand) What is this, Priyanka?? I thought you are matured but you still behaving like a kid… (Cups her face) Listen… Whatever happened is not because of you… It’s an accident… Stop blaming yourself… Already Omkara is blaming himself… On the other side, Madhu is blaming herself… Here you are blaming yourself… Actually, I should blame myself for giving idea to come to Mumbai… We should stay at Chennai only…
Prinku: Don’t say like that, Ranveer… I got you back after long time… Please don’t say this again… I feel bad…
Ranveer: And you too don’t say like this… I too feel bad seeing you like this… (Priyanka agrees and hugs him)
Prinku: Ranveer, can I ask you something??
Ranveer: Do you need permission to ask me?? Just ask…
Prinku: (hesitatingly) How come Madhu always can sense Ishu’s danger?? At first, I thought it was just a coincidence… But, now I feel there is something… What is that?? I’m not forcing you… You can tell me if you feel so… If not, then it’s ok… I won’t mind… (She turns to go but Ranveer holds her hand)
Ranveer: I will tell you… You have the rights to know it… (Priyanka smiles) After Dev’s death, Ishu doesn’t want his death become waste… She wants his death to be useful for other people… She wants him to live even though he is dead… (Priyanka looks at him confusingly) So, Ishu donated his organs to the people who needs them… Madhu is one of the person who is having Dev’s organ… (Surprised to see Priyanka in tears) What happened, Priyanka?? Why are you crying??
Prinku: (with tearful eyes) Because I don’t know what else I can do than this… Is she a human or what?? How come she is so selfless?? She lost her life but still she saved many peoples life… I don’t think anyone else will do the same if they were in her place…
Ranveer: Exactly, Priyanka… My ego, arrogance, attitude breaks seeing her selflessness…. That changed me into better person… And that was the time I promised myself to protect her from every problem especially Shivaay who was hunting for Gauri’s murderer… I didn’t let any evidence to come out and hide them in a secret place…
Prinku: I’m really proud of her… Each and every day my respect for her is keep on increasing… But, Ranveer, just by having Dev’s organ, Madhu can sense Ishu’s danger?? Only Madhu or other people who are having Dev’s organ too??
Ranveer: (chuckles) I don’t know about others but Madhu can sense her not only her danger but her presence too… Because she is having Dev’s heart which was beating even after he died… I know this is quite filmy and sounds not logic… In fact, we too thought that it’s just coincidence… But, soon we realised that it’s not just a coincidence but more than that… Madhu can sense Ishu just by her heart beat…
Prinku: We can’t say it is not logic… There are few things which are not in our hands… This is also like that… Only the God knows… (Ranveer smiles and hugs her)
CITY HOSPITAL
A guy is seen walking at the corridor… He is looking here and there to make sure no one is seeing him… He opens a door and looks at Ishana who is still unconscious… He looks at Arjun who is also sleeping on the small sofa which placed at the corner of the room… He goes towards Ishana…
OBEROI MANSION
Shivaay brings a glass of milkshake and going to Omkara’s room… He knocks the door but Omkara doesn’t open it… He is about to turn the knob but stops himself…
Shivaay: No… He must be sleeping… Poor guy, he is very much exhausted today… I should not disturb him… (About to go but Rudra come towards him)
Rudra: Bhaiya, have you seen O?? Is he fine…
Shivaay: Don’t disturb him… Let him sleep…
Rudra: (shocked) What?? He is sleeping?? How can he sleep in this situation?? If I’m in his place, I will go to the hospital without informing anyone and stay with Ishana bhabhi… But, he… (Sighs)
Shivaay: (slaps his head) This only will happen in the movies… And our Om is matured and won’t do like that… Now, let’s go and sleep…
CITY HOSPITAL
The guy goes towards Ishana and touches her hand… His eyes are filled with tears… He sits beside her holding her hand… Arjun turns in his sleep and heard sobbing sound… He opens his eyes and see someone beside Ishana… He goes towards the person and holds his shoulder… The guy looks at him in shocked while Arjun is surprised…
Arjun: Om?? You?? (Omkara puts his head down unable to answer him…) What happened, Om??
Om: (looks at him) She is in this condition because of me… I can’t sleep thinking of her… Please let me to stay with her…
Arjun feels bad looking at Omkara… He could understand how it feels when someone risked their life to save their loved one… He recalls how Ishana saved him from the fire cracker when they were kids… Till now he is feeling guilty that she got hurt because of him…
Arjun: Ok, Omkara… You can stay here… (Omkara looks at him in surprise) The nurse strictly told that only one person can stay here… So, I have to leave from here… If anything means, you can call me… I will be staying at nearby hotel only…
Om: (nods) Thank you and sorry…
Arjun: (smiles and pats his cheek) Take care… (Leaves from there)
Omkara sits beside Ishana and holds her hand… He looks at her and gently caresses her face without disturbing her wound… He recalls the chandelier falling on her and cries holding her hand…
Om: (cries) I’m sorry, Ishana… I’m really very sorry… I promise you that I won’t hurt you again… (Places his face on her hand and lies holding it in his sitting position)
Omkara fall asleep holding her hand… Some of his tears fall on Ishana’s hand… She started to move her fingers feeling the wetness… She weakly opens her eyes and sees someone sitting beside her with head placing on her bed… She can’t see who is the person because her head is dizzy due to the sedative given to her… Omkara feels a move below his face… He wakes up from his sleep and see Ishana is moving… He is surprised to see her getting conscious this soon because the doctor said she will not get conscious till morning… He feels worry and runs quickly from there to call the doctor… The doctor follows him and asked him to wait outside while he checks Ishana… Omkara waits outside worry for Ishana… The doctor come out after a while…
Doc: Don’t worry, Mr Oberoi… Your wife is alright… I’m surprised to see her awake this soon… She is feeling dizzy due to the sedative… She supposed to gain conscious in the morning… But, it happens sometimes… It’s not a problem… She will back to her sleep in a while…
Om: Can I talk with her for a while??
Doc: Sure… But, don’t make her to strain herself… (Omkara agrees and rush inside the ward… The doctor just smiles shaking his head…) Too much love for his wife… (Leaves from there)
Omkara enters the room and see Ishana is lying on the bed… She realised his presence and looks at him in tears… She is relieved to see him safe… She tried to get up from her place… Omkara goes towards her and makes her sit comfortably… He too sits beside her…
Ishu: (holds his face and with weak voice) Are you alright?? Nothing happened to you, right?? (Hearing this, Omkara just hugs her tightly and cries… Ishana feels pain in her wounds but she doesn’t care about it… She needs his embrace which she missed since few days… She controls her pain and hugs him back… Omkara breaks the hug and kisses all over her face… Ishana is surprised but she just let him to do it… She understands that he missed her as much as she missed him…)
Om: (cups her face) I was worrying about you but you are asking am I alright?? No, Ishana… I’m not at all fine… (Pulls her closer) You know how I felt when I saw you like that?? I died thousand times waiting for the doctor to tell that you are fine… What is the need to do that, Ishana??
Ishu: (controls her pain and with a weak voice) I only done what I have to do at that time… I wanted to save you and I did that…
Om: By sacrificing yourself?? Why?? Am I that important to you??
Ishu: You are very important for me… How my family means a lot for me, you are not less than that… (Omkara hugs her again… She can’t control the pain and winced… Omkara realised her condition and leaves her gently…)
Om: I’m sorry… I hurt you… (Ishana smiles looking at his concern towards her… Omkara looks at her wounds)
Omkara takes her hand and gently caresses her wound which is bandaged… He kisses the wound… Ishana feels something inside her and turns her face… She cries in pain because of the wound on her neck… Omkara sees the bandage on her neck… He blows on her neck and kisses it… Ishana closes her eyes feeling his closeness… He turns her face towards him and see some cuts on her face which are not very deep… He kisses each of the cuts on her face… Ishana feels shy but she doesn’t stop him… She just feels his kisses which are like taking away all of her pain… He makes her to lie on bed and slightly moves her cloth above her waist… But, Ishana stops him…
Ishu: Please don’t… I’m feeling embarrassed… (Omkara understands her hesitation and adjust her cloth) I’m sorry…
Om: (places his finger on her lips) That’s ok… I can understand…
Ishu: (smiles) Thank you… (After a while) I’m feeling sleepy but I don’t want to sleep…
Om: No… You have to sleep and you need to take more rest in this condition… Actually, you supposed to wake up in the morning… How come you become conscious now??
Ishu: Because of you… (Omkara looks at her questioningly) Your tears woke me up… (Showing her hand which he was holding while sleeping just now)
Om: Oh!! So, I’m the reason for you to gain conscious?? Fine… Now, I will make you to sleep…
Ishu: I don’t want to sleep… You will leave me after I slept… (Tries to get up)
Om: (stops her) I won’t leave you and won’t allow you to leave me… You sleep now… I’ll be here with you… (Apply blanket on her and about to sit… But, Ishana holds his hand and pulls him towards her…)
Ishana holds his face with one hand and kisses his cheek making him stunned…
Ishu: (smiles at him) Thank you…
Om: (kisses her forehead) Good night… (He makes her sleep and he goes and lies on the sofa… Sleep is far away from his eyes… He just look at Ishana who is sleeping peacefully with a smile on her face… He too smiles looking at her and dozed off after a while…)
