Zara will always argue to get things her way. First, the Prophet never said about getting education even if you need to go to China. He said getting educated is obligatory for every Muslim. Second, the thing about women going to hajj in a group if women is only for those who are above 50 years old. Hajj is not obligatory if you don’t have a mahram. A young woman cannot join the women only group for hajj. Though she was right in saying that the girl’s father would drop her off in Delhi. In a country like India especially Delhi where rapes are so common it’s not safe for a girl to travel alone by train. Her father could have picked and dropped her off to Delhi. It’s ok to have different opinions but here she went behind his back. What is the use of handling a case in court if you are doing out of court settlement. You choose one. And what’s with the improper hijab? Exposing the neck and chest is not hijab. Zara forgets one main role. Obeying the husband. The Prophet stressed so much on obeying the husband in right things. He said if it was permissible for us to bow down in front of anyone he would have ordered the women to bow down in front of the husband. It’s ok to have different opinions but you shouldn’t disobey your husband. Kabir should have focussed about the travelling part. His decision should have been that it’s ok for her to study in Delhi provided that her father agrees and he always picks and drops her off to Delhi.
I dont c y a woman always have to obey her husband even if hes wrong? Cant a woman think and sct for herself? Y is it dat having a different opinion means disobeying? We r living in a different time whete girls r being educated which means dey r learning about tings and not just bein told dat dis us d way tings r and should b. They’re being made aware dat not everyting is black and white and sometimes u have to go a different route dan wats been taught by older genetation if dey want ti achieve their goals it doesnt make dem any less but i believe more as some of these mens realize d importance of such a spouse. D strenght comes in a relationship wen both parties can air their differences and still be able to support each other and put tings into proper perspectives.
A woman should not obey her husband in wrong things. There wre different scholarly opinions in Islam and a couple can have and follow different opinions. The husband cannot force his wife to follow his scholar’s opinion. As long the differences are minor it doesn’t matter. Obeying your husband does not mean that you don’t have any say. You discuss things as a couple. Zara can have her opinion but she went behind kabir’s back to try to influence the girl’s father to win. If this happened in a court of law the lawyer doing this could be disbarred for trying to manipulate witnesses. She was continuously interrupting Kabeer. She forgot they are not at home but at work. Would it be ok for an employee to argue with the boss like this?
We obey our husbands because God asked us to. We are the slaves of God and we hear and we obey. Differences will always happen between men and women. But a marriage cannot work if you don’t see eye to eye on anything. We cannot fix a car tire on one side of the train and expect the train to run. Married couples are supposed to be a team. Zara is always trying to change kabir. You never try to change your partner. When they were divorced kabir asked her to change and she accepted. She should not have accepted it. But she did. So she should keep her word. That’s why compatibility is very important. Zara and kabeer can never support each other as they have nothing in common. They only become ok in times of life threatening situations like miraj, murder attempt on Zara, Kashan’s betrayal, etc. That is not a proper marriage. That is just ignoring smaller issues to focus on the big problems. They cannot survive day to day challenges of a married couple as they are really different. I just wish they get divorced and find suitable partners. Divorce is not a taboo in Islam. The Prophet and his companions got divorced due to non compatability. And it was fine. Sometimes couples just don’t get along.
Zara did nothing wrong… all she did was explain to the girls father about allowing her to further her education… the girls father would then hv taken it to prayer with Allah, before making his decision… therefore, Zara did not force the outcome of the case… again, well done Zara ?
Its also good to know that Qazi Irfan’s nephew is also versed in Islam and able to qualify for the position of Qazi… he seems humble enough, and hopefully does not hv a temper like Kabeer… I like where this is going, becuz Kabeer needs a little competition in order for him to see his mistakes… ?
on another note… as a young child growing up in a Catholic community, I learned this verse as quoted from the Bible… justice is mine sayeth the Lord… while I also realize that it is said… an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth… can anyone explain to me from the Qur’an, on how a Muslim would deal with a situation as such shown in this eposode?? Is it that Aamir now has to take revenge on the guilty party and slay the enemy… or shud he leave the justice to Allah ?? ?
Zara talked to d girl’s father to enlighten him on how his daughter’s life could b enriched if she gets to continue her studies. It was up to him to find a suitable way to achieve dis without goin against his principles and teachings. Zara.didnt do it to win d case but to keep her promise of helping secure dis woman’s future and make her family proud. There is no discussing wth kabir as once he decided dis is d way someting should b he turns deaf to anyting else which being d head priest he shouldnt. Yes kabir and zara argues on alot of tings but i believe dat zara is just wat kabir needs to realize dat not everyting should be based on one ting. As head priest he has to deal with religion and world and find a balance and he’s not going to do dat with a wife who meekly agrees and does as he says. Diamonds come rough and is then transform into a wrk of art and dats kabir. He is uncut and needs to b molded to b d best head priest he can b for all d ppl and not just religious ones. We have already seen d impact dat a divorce has on women from previous plots and its d women who gets stigmatise,so instead y cant d husband and wife go through their struggles ,their differences and come out healthier and stronger than wen goin into this marriage. Compatibility doesnt always happen at d beginning but sometimes takes time by learning each other and compromising to suit. Zara didnt agree to just stop being herself she agreed to change aspect of her life to b more in tune with her husband as kabir should also have done. Shes accepted tings she wouldnt have normally accepted but dat doesnt mean she will just lay down flat if someone ask for help and she considers it a reasonable request. Shes asked kabir to look at tings from other perspective to elevate himself isnt dat wat a wife should do? She asked him to earn to b self reliant. She asked him to think bout his sisters happiness instead of just wat he deem right. Now all shes asking is for him to deal with situations for all concerned in a manner deserving of being head priest. Zara only wants kabirs success and shes not afraid to fight with him to achieve dat. If she hadnt done all d tings shes done kabir wouldve destroyed himself long time ago, with his continuous loan taking, not wrking to pay back such loans and every other ting dat has happened including alina’s marriage which her sister in law orchestrated to ruin everyone. A wife,s place is at her husbands side, encouraging him and supporting him, her role is not to make him feel hes right even wen hes wrong,a gd wife never does dat
