Chapter 3 :Let It Go
“shouldn’t you be consoling her?.. No,I’m sure she won’t like it.. Oh come on Abhay . Are you seriously gonna think about her likes and dislikes now…but she’s a very strong and independent woman, i don’t think she’ll need help from someone like ME.. duh.. “Abhay’s conscience kept fighting.
Abhay had laid down to sleep after the party but sleep was far away from his eyes. Too many thoughts preoccupied his mind and he just couldn’t sleep.” I’d better take a stroll in the garden”,he had thought so and reached the corridor when he spotted Bhavya.
“Abhay.. Go”, his conscience literally shouted. So he went and sat beside Bhavya, hoping she won’t find it more awkward than him.
Sensing someone besides her, Bhavya immediately opened her eyes and on seeing Abhay by her side, she immediately wiped her tears and retreated back into her shell. The shell that no one hasn’t been able to break till date.
“what are you doing here?” she asked with her policewala tone surfacing.
“don’t you ever switch off the police in you?” Abhay asked her, not wanting to touch her crying bit just then.”or is it because you are still angry that you couldn’t punish me?”
Bhavya checked for a tone of arrogance and sarcasm in the ‘punishing’ comment, but finding none, she repeated her question, a little softer now. Like how friends would talk.
“woah.. I didn’t know you could be soft too.. You should keep this side up more often than the stiff one, you know..” Abhay said, genuinely impressed.
Finding his flattering irritating, Bhavya again repeated the question, but in her angry tone again.
Abhay didn’t know what got into him, but suddenly, he wanted to bring back that soft Bhavya back. He didn’t know why but he immediately felt connected to her. Determined to bring her out of her sour mood, he said as casually as possible, “well.. I was just passing by when I saw you here so i thought I’ll just chill with you.”
“you, i and ‘chilling together’? Are you nuts” Bhavya could clearly see through his stupid lie.
“why not?” Abhay asked.”Police officers can’t chill or what? Or is it because i am a culprit and you are a poli…”
“Abhay stop”, Bhavya interrupted him. “No. 1,stop bringing up this police and culprit thing, I’ve nothing against you personally okay.. That’s my profession. And i really don’t like people messing up the two. And No. 2, i want to be alone for some time. Do you mind? Coz if you do, learn to deal with it.”
Bhavya, being emotionally drained already, was finding this job of ‘explaining’ Abhay tiring. She just wasn’t in the mood.
” sometimes letting go of things can really help, you know.. “Abhay answered in a serious tone.
That threw Bhavya completely off-guard. She wasn’t expecting him to become serious all of a sudden. It then dawned her that he had seen her crying and all the small talk before was just to ease the situation.
Abhay noticed the change of expression on her face and assured her that he wouldn’t tell anyone what he had seen. “no one would belive me”, he joked.
“Abhay, i..”
“you don’t have to explain Bhavya, i know everyone has their own share of happiness and sorrows. What I want you to realise is that, its completely okay to let it go. I myself used to stop myself from crying, but finally when I did, I felt as if i had just thrown away a huge rock from my heart. And hey, it’s okay for boys’ to cry ‘kay.. “, Abhay said.
Bhavya was shocked beyond limits. Who knew this man was so mature!!! When all other people she had met in her life till now automatically came to conclusions regarding her sorrows, here was a man who didn’t even bother to know what her past was but thought more about her present! “Abhay!, of all people!”,she thought.
Tired and overwhelmed with emotions, Bhavya ran…
Precap: Bhavya ran..?
