Raman’s POV
I woke up by my loud alarm and admired by sleeping beauty, my little angel, my daughter, Ruhi. But then I realized, she has to go school today. I woke her up and asked her to freshen up while mom got her breakfast ready for her. As she got out, I went to freshen up while she had her breakfast. I went out and wiping my face with a towel and saw her ready in her school dress sitting gloomily at the dining table with the breakfast untouched in front of her. I went to her and sat on the chair beside her.

I forwarded her the bite of cereals but she didn’t lifted her eyes at me so I put it back and took my cutie pie(Ruhi) in my lap. ‘What happened cutie pie?’ I asked and gave me a sudden hug. I hugged her back as I felt my shirt wetting. ‘Ruhi, what happened baby? You know papa loves you a lot and will listen to you? Sit calmly and tell what happened?’ I asked and she broke the hug and I wiped her teary face. ‘Papa I don’t want to go to school, I got to know yesterday only that mumma is dead, I will go after some days but not today.’
I saw Simmi coming and that she has heard her. She came and took Ruhi out of my lap picking her up. ‘What will you do at home? No one is at home and everyone are busy, Papa will go to office, and you will be more sad at home, no more tears OK, good girl. Then we both will go to toy shop after school OK?’ she asked trying to cheer her. ‘Toy shop? Yes I will go, I really need some dolls.’
Simmi giggled and kissed her cheek. ‘Ok then I will drop you to school, but after you finish your breakfast,’ she said and Ruhi immediately sat on the chair and ate. I smiled looking at the live doll in front of me, not to mention I can do anything for her. So Simmi went to drop her at school and I went to my office.
Ruhi’s POV:
Simmi bua dropped me at the school and I kept walking forward in my own world thinking about how good toys would be there. I bumped into someone. I looked up.
A beautiful bespectacled girl in salwar kameez with a smile on her face as she saw me, actually she was a woman. She had books in her arms and a handbag on her shoulder. She towered over me. ‘Are you a new teacher?’ I asked. ‘Yes, Miss Ishita Iyer, and you’re such a cutie pie,’ she complimented me. ‘Thank you ma’am,’ I replied with a smile. ‘You are?’, she asked. ‘Ruhi Bhalla,’, I replied. ‘That’s a cute name, in which class are you?’ she asked. ‘III-D (3D),’ I told her. ‘I m your class teacher,’ she told me smiling at me.
‘Really?’ I asked excited that she’s my teacher, actually she looked like an angel, her white clothes, her beautiful long hair and her pretty smile made her look like an angel. ‘Yes, come,’ she said and put her arm around my shoulders, don’t know why but she gave me a motherly feeling. We went upstairs and I told her where is the class. As we went inside together, everyone eyed me as if I m an alien. I sat beside my friend, Diya. ‘Is she your mother?’ she whispered. ‘No, our new teacher buddhu, my mother..,’ my voice trailed off.
‘It will be OK, but Ruhi, you both look like mother and daughter,’ she said and I too felt as if I got my dead mother back. ‘Good morning students,’ our new teacher and my angel said. ‘Good morning teacher,’ the students replied. ‘I am your new class teacher, Miss Ishita, I will be very good with you all, you are like my own family and if you do something wrong then of course I will scold you as mothers also scold and it’s for your own good, I will be teaching you all history, let’s get your attendance first.’
So she began taking attendance, till my name was called, I was lost somewhere thinking how good would it have been only if my mother would’ve been alive and I would’ve told her that finally a good teacher came in the school. I wished you were here mumma.
Ishita’s POV:
I kept calling Ruhi’s name as I took attendance but saw her lost somewhere as if she was very gloomy. Diya shook her shoulder and she looked up at her then at me. ‘Ruhi, beta anything wrong?’ I asked concerned about this cute adorable girl sitting with a gloomy face.
‘Yes ma’am,’ she replied and I decided to talk to her after the class ends. I kept on teaching the students but my attention kept fluctuating on this little girl. As the class got dismissed, I called her outside, she came and it looked as if she understood what’s coming next. ‘Sorry ma’am, I know I don’t pay attention, but I will try my best,’ she apologized and I nodded in negative cupping her cheeks. ‘Did someone say something to you?’ I asked her lovingly. She nodded in negative. ‘I m missing my mother, she died just yesterday.’
‘Oh, you should’ve stayed at home, no family member scolds you right?’ I asked. ‘No ma’am, I would’ve missed mumma more, when I saw you today, I felt as if an angel came,’ she said and I smiled at her. ‘Thank you beta,’ I said. ‘Ma’am, our teacher might be coming now so may I go?’ she asked and I nodded in agreement.
She turned and started leaving and was only three steps away from me when she turned to me and waved at me, I too waved at her and she again turned and went. I just wanted to hug this little girl and give her motherly love. I could feel a burst of emotions for this little girl I just met.
