Adi sets out to regain his place in the newspaper.
The subject is difficult to find. He examines his old works. He thinks of Imlie. Finds what to write.
He goes to the market. An old woman is selling carrots.
He approaches the woman and asks permission for the interview. The woman does not speak, but nods.
When you think that she is not very talkative Aunt
-Use words sparingly.
Adi smiles and asks how the carrots are grown to bring up the topic. Auntie
-This green on the top sacrifices itself to the sun.
So that the carrots can be fed under the ground. Sacrifice.
The lower part also takes root, struggling to find a few drops of water. Effort.
They are different, but they do their part to stay together. Relationship .
And they grow together.
When the time comes and the harvest, they become a profit for the farmer. Income.
They are used in a thousand and one dishes at your table.
They are delicious. They become vitamins. They will help you fill your hungry stomach. Food.
They combine with other vegetables and create new flavors. Kids.
Did you think it was a simple vegetable?
– Oh no, you told me about a little miracle.
-Dont exaggerate. Aunt smiles.
-You are imlie’s husband, right?
-Do you know him?
-She bought from me a few times. We chatted. A smart, simple village girl.
She has a hundred times more miracle than carrots. Do you know Imlie’s value ?
-I… Adi doesn’t know exactly what to say.
All of the things I told about carrots have their time. If you miss those times, they are wasted.
Do you appreciate your time with Imlie?
Do not be late…
Adi wants to answer but doesn’t know what to say.
Quietly, he starts walking towards the house, hoping that the rain that will begin soon will hide his tears.

Metin, again I’m impressed by your philosophy regarding carrots 🔥☺️ who would have thought carrots can be such a good illustrative example?
You can surely make a grrreat writer who writes amazing inspirational and philosophical works 🔥
Star
you my friends have fueled me.
a tiny contribution, overflowing from the accumulated…
i wrote it at nightshift in like an hour.
I didn’t have the opportunity to put in much effort.
I hope it gives a pleasant taste to the readers.
my editor , i dont know you but thank you too.
you all can come to my signing day now 🙂 😛
thank you very much
I am just touched @Metin !
Salutes to this great piece.
You made me realise one philosophy today that it doesn’t matter how much efforts you give, all that matters is efficiency. Long drafts has much efforts, but a short and simple write up as this with great morals and values proves it’s efficiency !
I am just flat at your simple write up !
There is a lot… more than lot to learn from you. You inspired me today and made me realise what am I doing all these days 😂…
And carrot was a great example. I recall a conversation where I asked my mother how is carrot cultivated because generally I like knowing about farming and procedures and participate in them at village sometimes. She also happened to say that carrot’s head is used in cultivation. And she said nothing in life is posible without sacrifices. And she said carrot top is sacrificing for someone else and that is the producers. So she said that sacrifices are a part of life and sometimes meant to be done for others when others know your value just like cultivators know the value of carrots as their livelihood. So, it connected me somewhere into my old memories. This actually rejuvenated my old memories afresh ! And all the credit of this goes to you.
@Shriharshita
i didnt have education in english neither in courses nor at school.
thats one reason for not writing long portrayals . its our secret.
dont tell anyone. i learned it from movies , serials with subtitle.
there is a phrase :
”Heaven is under the feet of mothers”
if our upbringing is same , man – woman are almost same in many areas.
girls can fart , men make-up , etc.. 🙂
one big difference is motherhood.
nowadays they dont give it proper value.
I’m happy to hear about your memory with your mother.
for you i can only say dont back off. you will find your writing way , that makes you happy , in time. i enjoy you reading.
i dont deserve that much compliment. thank you very much.
Hi Metin… Glad to see another author on board ✍🤗
I believe that once we have a grasp at the English language and are diligent towards life in general… then we become great authors in our own unique way 👐✨ … plus your reference is very tasty…yum 😁
Looking forward to part 2 ✔
Hi naina
Afiyet olsun (native phrase after dinner) 🙂
or अपने भोजन का आनंद लें ???
thank you my friend for your kind words .
we’ll see …
It is very beautiful and wise that I want to cry over his lost love, even though I’m not a fan of Ady. Thank you, write again👍🌺
Your words Are beautiful.
Adi burried his tomb with his bare hands.
Thank you, i hope. 🙂
To be honest, I don’t know much about philosophy. But I liked your short story, @Metin. It was fascinating. Like carrots was a good example. I had never wondered that deeply about carrots, or knew these facts, surprisingly. 🙂
I can picture this whole scene playing out in my mind. Really well done 😊👍
Me neither.
İ just build analytic logic.
İn it i express my feelings.
Aand dinner is ready 🙂
im happy that you liked it.
Thank you Tara.
This story is touching! And what a philosophy of carrots, how come someone express their feelings via carrots ! Never had I thought so deeply or even paid any heed to carrot before today. Such an awesome short story. Thankyou for it @Metin😊
Shruti
Your kind words made me smile.
Thank you very much.
@Metin, inspiring …
You were able to depict and transport his loneliness very well. Also the fact that when one feels guilty, he tends to associate pretty much everything with his experience. Because of his guilt, the words of this simple woman have such a impact on him. I imagined his miserable condition when he‘ll finally find out the truth… You really had an interesting thought here👏. More than for a subject to write on, he’s looking for Imlie … She was the one who drew inspiration from ordinary people from the start. So, whether consciously or unconsciously, he is now after everything that reminds him of her…
And the title, I love it… Yes, that ship has sailed👋…
Well done @Metin, I liked it very much 👍
im today in the mode ,that i express myself very short.
to you from me ”love” is it.
why?
many reasons.
strong ones :
your shining comments.
your intelligence.
i think we would be close in real life.
thank you for caring to share. 🙂
And one more thing, you have one of my favorite actresses as a profile picture. She is the reason why I became aware of Indian series❣️
I’m glad that fortuity brought me here today😁, I should have read your story much earlier… But from now on you have my attention, for what it’s worth 😊…
my dear friends inspired me to try.
about kushi with the letter A in it :
if you rewatch the scene , the scene where she tells ancient story to the ladies in arnavs house at the time she teaches Lavanya , it can explain many things , what i found in that serial. amelie 2001 is school play compared to that scene.
