JAB WE MEET in US by Neha-17 (Chapter-6)

Hello, IB and DBO lovers! Your Neha-17 is back with another update. Sorry, for being so late. So, Sorry! Also I have a question for you at the end. I am extremely sorry for being this late and I promise this won’t happen again. My, exams are going on but I have got a long vacation between papers hence this update.

Here is a short precap so that all your memories turn live and for new readers too.

Precap- Shivaay and Anika are pursuing their higher studies in US. Shivaay is doing MBA from Harvard and Anika is doing MS. She is lovely girl, with a deep buried feeling inside her. Their meet was destined by Destiny itself. They meet on a beach in Boston and for two years now their life is intertwined in Boston-the city of hopes! Shivaay teases Anika and then when Anika’s turn comes she punctures Shivaay’s car when he had an important assignment to submit. That is in Mandir scene . Here in US, she has a friend Clarie who is a sweet heart! Then they meet again at a hotel where he introduces Anika as his girlfriend …just to make her angry which leads for water on his face and then with anger throws her in pool. But, Anika is water loving person hence it’s a chop for Shivaay. Now currently they are in a party organised by Tia and her fiancé. Tia is Anika’s childhood friend their friendship was faded when Tia’s father transferred but due to social media they meet again!

(Note: Anika lovingly calls Tia as Chameli and she calls Anika as Champa. I am trying to use each element of IB hence this names.)

Tia: You still remember it? We used to wear flower on our head during childhood hence our English teacher kept our names. Haha!
Anika: And, Hindi ma’am she used to say Champa, Chameli chup raho as we were so talkative. Indeed! Those days were golden.
Tia: Even, I miss them. But you have totally transformed. I still remember choti Anika- the girl with spectacles. Chasmish, right? Bubbly. You were so healthy and chubby.
And now it seems you are maintaining your figure. See, you are so thin, cute and without specks.

A person- Really she was healthy and chashmish (having glasses/spectacles)?
It’s hard to believe. He was laughing aloud.
Anika: Shivaay, What are you doing here? Don’t laugh!

Shivaay: Is this your patented place? I came as my friend called me.
Anika: Who let me know….?
Tia: Wait a min guys. First tell me how you know each other? I am puzzled.

Before Anika could speak…
Shivaay: Oh! This girl. Maybe, I met her at a beach. She was dying to have photo with me. (Smirking)
Anika was eyeing him with rage!
Anika: Oh! Hello nothing like that. Don’t bluff the story.
Tia, we had a brief meet few times. He has so many attitudes. Bagad Billa kabhi ka.We met just by coincidence,now.
You, said you wanna show something special to me. What is it?
Now, Shivaay was eyeing with furious look. But, he went as someone called him.

( Anika carefully changed the topic as she knew, none of them will keep quiet and gradually reveal their fight details. Tia, was surprised studying expressions on their face. She felt an unknown unsaid connection.She knew khichadi was cooking. But, it’s wise to be silent and let others spill the beans.)

Tia: Ya, Ani.
(Then, she came with holding someone and their arms held closely.)
Tia to Anika : Anika, meet my fiancé, Robin. Well, Robin She is my bestie and lively person. I am glad to be her friend.
Anika: O bête ki! So, you have found enchanting love, at this young age? Great going, I will be happy to be a part of your marriage.
Tia: Hehe, thanks Ani. He is a great person to be with. We will spend our lives till eternity . Also, he is a business partner of Shivaay’s family.
Robin: Hello, Anika. Welcome here. Nice to meet you. ‘Tia was chirping about you the entire day. Enjoy the party.
To Tia: Ya, darling till my last breath, I will live for you and YOU.
Anika: Glad to meet you too.

(Anika was happy to see their love chemistry. )
Then, Tia went to the centre area and started announcing.

Tia: Thank you all, by gracing us with your presence.The prime motive of organising this party was to have have a small get together. As me and Robin are here for a week and hence it was our idea to make this stay a special one, by calling all dear friends and acquaintances.
Well, now here is the most delighting parts- Games!
Rule- Everyone has to participate as majha sab ke sath ata hai. Kindly, form pairs then, I will explain the game play.
Soon, all pairs were formed except Shivaay and Anika. They gave a baffled look to each other. Tia,asked them to form a pair. As,no option left she blackmailed Anika that after long time she is asking a request. Finally! she agreed and Shivaay felt butterflies in his stomach.

Tia: Well, here is a sheet of scrap book paper. Both of the pair should stand on it balancing each other dance when the music is on. When the music stops, fold the paper in half. Again, music will start and resume dancing. This will continue till the last couple manages to stay on it. So, every time music starts fold your paper . Also, during the game none of the couple should lift up their partner. Mr. Soumil the food organiser will monitor everyone.
Hint: Balancing is the key!
Note, it is mandatory that your feet should lie on the paper only. That’s like a defined boundary. If someone fails to it, loses balance and stops dancing then disqualified.

POV: Shivaay and Anika- Shivika. They had just settled on the A4 sized paper and felt weird to dance on music with confined space. Yet, Shivaay had held her on her waist and she had kept hand on his shoulder. Their legs touched each other, so they could not dance freely. Moving, a bit they were never breaking the eye lock and swinging alternate sides with music. Also, each one had a cutish smile on their face.
The music stopped and almost all the couples (6in total) had managed to clear this round. And the paper was folded into half.

POV: This time Shivika had managed tiptoed taking care that they weren’t going beyond the boundary. Anika was flustered, for the first time she was dancing with any man. That too, with comfort and delight. Never had ever she imagined she will blush dancing with someone whom she fights always. He was so dilligently managing her, as he was a trained in acrobatics due to his younger brother Rudra. Shivaay was thanking
for this opportunity, thought teasing her, he always loved to be in her company. Then, this was a golden oppurtunity. Both of them were matching steps, hand moments and waving their body with the flow of tunes.

Again, the music haunted, 2 couples were disqualified as they had stepped out of paper frontier line. Again paper was folded and it was 1/4th of the original now.

POV: Tia and Robin were managing effortlessly as if this was a cake walk for them. Their glare into the eyes was like –
Love me like you do, la-la-love me like you do
Touch me like you do, ta-ta-touch me like you do
Also, they were smiling looking at Anika who were too managing with ease yet strangers to each other. Shivika were dancing listening to the lyrics. When the tune was -On the edge of paradise. then, Shivaay caught hold of Anika, and in the nick of time, managed her refraining from crossing boundary. Still, tiptoed the space was not so much to dance with glee. They were closer to each other and the touch brought intimaidating waves for them. Surely, they were enjoying each other’s presence.
Music stopped, one of the couple was eliminated due to imbalance. Paper was now reduced to 1/8th of its original one and only one person could manage standing tiptoed on it. But, as rule both should have their feet on the paper. Anika came up with an idea, and whispered into Shivaay’s ear.
Music resumed

POV: Anika and Shivaay has put their feel diagonally to occupy maximum space a foot can occupy still tip toed but this time balancing was difficult . The leg was hanging in the air making a contemporary balancing move like an ARABESQUE but not that professional.It is a posture in which one leg is extended backwards at right angles, the torso bent forwards, and the arms outstretched, one forwards and one backwards. Anika had basic dance training could manage and Shivaay due to acrobatics. Their bodies were barely and inch away from each other. The air around them had turned sparking. Lightning up their moves. This shocked everyone and cheered for both the couples ( Shivika and TiRo) as one of them could not balance.

Robin was tiptoed and Tia was standing on toes. But, surely that was awkward position, still Robin was managing her as her was light weight.
Anika (whispered in Shivaay’s ear) : Do you know winning is my passion since childhood ? So, don’t lose your hold. I will fight back till, I don’t acquire my WIN.
Then, she gave a grinning look to Shivaay.
Shivaay was beaming and Anika could notice twinkle in his eyes. The harmony of rhythm and notes made the atmosphere charged up, swinging gradually with tones…..

Shivaay: Even, I have a bad habit which never lets things go out of my hold, once I have declared my right on it. Be it a person, thing or a game. I pounce back and get the work done!
(Anika was shocked and her mouth made an perfect O)
Soon, Robin could not hold Tia and gave in. But, Tia was happy with the support he provided and the deserving team won! She went near Shivika and congratulated them and gave a winking look. Both of them were overwhelmed.
Tia: The one was restraining to participate won. Ha, Ani ? (Nudging her)
Robin: Shivaay you are multi talented! Every day you surprise me with one.
Shivaay: But today, I am surprised by someone else….

(Looking beamingly at Anika and Anika could not imagine they had won, her life was on surprise mode since she came in US. Unexpected things, visits and a meeting a charming guy who was believe not believe was more or less like her)
Tia: Shivaay, I had a rugged opinion about you as my sister left you. I thought you never paid her any heed, but maybe that decision was good for you both. You weren’t meant to you. Life has something else for you.
Shivaay: Hold on! What?
Tia: Shivaay, I am Tia Kapoor, sister of Malika Kapoor, you’re ex girlfriend.
Shivaay: What the wuck? You never told me since we met, you are telling me now?
Robin: What?
Shivaay: Yes, but Malika left me and ran away like her usual habit and never contacted me again. How is she and where?
Tia: She is in London. Doing internships and will start a architectural firm in India.
Shivaay: Okay, kindly give me her contact number.

Anika POV:
Anika was applalled, she never imagined this conversation will lead this way. She, assumed Shivaay to be single like her. Is he still taken? Does, he still like her now? Why was she imagining this and being affected? She never wanted anyone in her life ever. But, meeting Shivaay her beliefs were changed. She had met Malika once and admired her as being Tia’s step sister she had stood by Tia. Malika acepted Tia’s mom and was a perfect sibling. She is a gem of a person. Maybe, that’s why Shivaay likes her! Then, she went to have water.

Sorry, guys. I posted after a long time. Was busy with submissions, exams, project, thesis, days etc .To make up with this I am starting an opinion column Food for thought where I want you all to discuss with me the topics IB and DBO left unanswered and any of your opinion!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT -1:
Why do they repeat Anika’s clothes? I was fine when she was not Shivaay’s wife. But now being an Oberoi they should good clothes. On the other hand, I love Shivaay’s suit everytime they are new and expensive.
Also, IB is famous for DNA test. Instead of Anika making an hungama over not meeting her mother. Can’t they confirm using a DNA test? Like Anika performed secreately SHivaay also can do that, isn’t it? Afterall he is Shivaay Singh Oberoi!
