Chapter 8 :-
Here, Shivaay and Robin were wondering what these girls are up to.
Robin: Are u leaving? Or you are waiting for her?
Now, I understand why people troll gossip of ladies. Maybe, that’s never ending.
Shivaay: Haha.Ya true, when two childhood friends meet from long time, they have lots to share. That too when they are girls!
Now, as I have been waiting for 20 mins or so another few minutes won’t make any difference.
Soon, these girls came. Anika was surprised, Shivaay is still waiting. She thought he had left.
It was late in night and time to leave. Tia and Anika shared a brief hug and greeted goodbye.
Anika followed Shivaay and now they were standing on the pavement.
Shivaay: So, how are you going home?
Anika: Oh! I came by the metro. I will prefer it in this never sleeping ever busy city. It’s just few minutes walkable from here.
And you?
Shivaay: Yes, even I will prefer the metro. I had told my driver to leave then.
(Shivaay had arrived in car and car was waiting from him, but he wanted to spend time with Anika. Hence he lied.Whereas, Anika’s driver was on leave.)
Anika: Okay, let’s use the pedestrian walkway.
Both, of them were walking but they were as silent as a grave. It was like they wanted to talk but getting to a suitable topic was difficult.
Shivaay POV:
I want to talk so much with her. I want to know what’s troubling her? But, where to begin with? Alas! I am so talkative but now, thoughts are vanished from my min. We fight like mad and now its pin drop silence. We don’t know each other much. How, can I directly start a personal topic. Then near by, I noticed a Candy shop. I thought we should visit. Maybe, it will help to lighten up her mood. I told her we should visit as I have sweet tooth. She just nodded and we went into the shop. It was a two storey shop entirely filled with vibrant candies. Such, shops are rare to find in India.
The mouth water confectionery included candy sticks, candy drops, truffles, wafer chocolate, variety of chocolates, chew and hard types, coconut candy, bubble gum and chewing gum, lollipops, caramel and many more……
Her face was elated, which was visibly seen. She said,” Wow! I could possibly spend a day and taste all. But, now I will go for Buddhi ke Baal. Oops! I mean Cotton candy and ordered it”. Also, she took a small, plate sized lollipop which was filled with rainbow colors and took for me too. While, paying the bill we almost smiled remembering last incident where I broke her card and she had thrown water on me. This, time I let her pay without interfering. We left the store, my desires went crazy to lick her as she was licking the lollipop. My breathing became uneven. It was fun to watch her that way. But, I have a good self-control.
Then, surprisingly she started talking. She told she used to eat Bhel and buddhi ke baal at Chowpaty in Mumbai. Also, she likes beaches.Well, I surely wouldn’t have done that, as it is very unhygienic food. Right now, raising this issue, I don’t want to invite fight. So, I kept mum. Then, we almost reached the station.
End of POV.
Anika: Your younger brother, Rudra isn’t he loved by everyone? As, well as cool and fun-loving person. I really liked his talks; it reminded me of someone dear to me.
Anika was feeling clumsy.
Shivaay: Rudra is a charming person. He makes lots of friends in the first meet. Well, Anika, I could observe you were off-track and emotional. If something is bothering you, expressing it, makes us feel better. If you are missing that person so much, talk or meet. Solutions exist but you are creating emotional turmoil of yourself and stretching the matter.
With Shivaay, said this, Anika began crying uncontrollably. She hugged Shivaay, rested her head on his chest and caught hold of his coat. Shivaay hadn’t expected this reaction. He felt bad, maybe his words have hurted her. Still, he felt she should cry out, to lessen up her pain. Shivaay was quite for a while.
Shivaay: Hey, sorry if I have said something wrong. Don’t cry, say something. Anika…
Then she looked at him and was controlling her tears. And, Shivaay was soothing her back.
Anika: (Wiping her tears.) I know, I am behaving like silly. But, listening of your talks made remind of my brother- Sahil. A cute chubby boy, and understandable at very young age. I wish, I could meet or see him. But, that’s not possible.
Anika started crying again, loudly.( Aaahuhhh, Aaahuhuhuhh- imagine like the way she does in IB.) Shivaay was digesting this new piece of information. He could not understand why she isn’t calling him? Aren’t they on talking terms now?
Shivaay: Hey, give your phone. I will dial his number, you talk to him. It will make you feel better. Come, have a sit.
They were at the station, he pointed, to the seats nearby. But, Anika was sobbing like a child.
Anika: (Crying) I wish, I could. You are lucky to have your brothers, but my best brother…… (She was silent for a while.)
He is no more. He, left this world and his sister years ago and made me alone.
Shivaay was shocked to hell. He had never imagined this situation. He was feeling bad for her. He can’t imagine life without his brothers. He was chilled to the bone, thinking if something would happen to his brothers. And, her Anika was living without her brother. This made his eyes moist. To make her silent, he said-
Shivaay: Anika, calm down. (Half hugging her and soothing her hands.) I am sure; your brother won’t like his, sister weeping constantly. He will want you to be happy, so that he can stay peacefully. He must, be watching you, as he loved you a lot. So, won’t he feel bad,to see you in this state? Come, on smile for your brother, this will make him feel good, wherever he is.
Anika: Yes, my brother didn’t like when, I used to cry. He used to do every possible effort to cheer me up. But, the fact which always makes me guilty is he was left to die and I could not do anything. I will get justice for him, I will never forgive them. I am feeling low. I want to leave. Thanks, for being there and giving me a shoulder to cry. I am really grateful to you.
Shivaay: I don’t want to dig up the past. You can share anytime you want to. Remember, I am just a call away. Take care. Come, I will drop you home.
There he passed his visiting card.
Anika: (Anika had composed herself now.) Please don’t bother yourself much. Already, I have troubled you a lot. Let, me go my way, I will be safe. Also, we have our ways opposite side from this station. It’s late, even you go and take rest.
Shivaay didn’t want her to go. But, he didn’t want any arguments so he abided to her decison.
Shivaay: Take care, Anika. I don’t know, but I feel ought to be there for you. Bye!
She gave a weak smile and went inside the metro. Shivaay stood there watching her.

Shivaay had waited for her call or text that night but she didn’t. He wasn’t having any source to contact her. He thought maybe, she doesn’t feel to share with him. After all, we only had hate relation till now.
Anika POV: I never felt, I will share the pain with anyone. Shivaay is a good person. He really cares for me. After long time, I got a shoulder to cry on, a person to understand me. I feel, I will invite unwanted trouble for him if he gets close to me. She felt the urge to call him, but was afraid that if he ever refuses to accept her, she will be totally broken. So, she thought better she won’t disturb Shivaay anymore. She also felt selfish not to thank him, as he was worried for her. These emotions were juggling in her mind.

At last, after few days, she decided to write him an email, to the address which was mentioned on the card. She decided to keep it formal.
// Dear Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi,
Hello! I hope you are doing well? I am totally fine, busy with my exams. That day, I really felt your friendly presence, appreciative for consoling me. Sorry, I didn’t contact you as, I went home and went into deep slumber while sobbing. I am not weak, but that day my roots were shaken. Thanks, for your efforts, I am managing myself great.
Take care.
Best Regards,
Anika //

The mail was unseen by Shivaay for a few days. Anika thought that, it’s good he didn’t replied, as she thought to maintain distance with him. But, she used to check all the mails. (In her heart she had expected his reply).Suddenly, the new email notification ping came. Anika checked. It was from Shivaay. It read as,
//Respected Ms. Anika,
You are Welcome! Take care. All the best! Best wishes!
Regards,
Shivaay Singh Oberoi //
Anika felt bad reading such a short reply. She had made the first step to distance him from her and now this was the result.
Anika POV: I will never message him now. Respected Ms.Anika??I at least made an effort to write dear. Maybe, he is angry on me that, it took many days for me to reply. It would have been fine, if had not replied. He will never lose his “Akduness”. Have, I lost his caring? Or he is busy. Well, anyways, what happens is for good.
Anyways, I don’t care.
Whereas, by saying this, the person mentions, they really do CARE!
