Jackie Shroff’s Legal Action on Image Rights Raises Concerns Among Fans of Comedian Krushna Abhishek

In recent developments, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has taken legal action to protect his image rights and name. He has filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court over the unauthorized use of his name, voice, photos, and even his catchphrase ‘Bhidu.’ This incident has sparked discussions on social media, with Krushna Abhishek’s fans expressing concern over whether the comedian will still be able to impersonate Shroff. Addressing these concerns, Krushna’s wife, Kashmera Shah, posted a response on Instagram.

On her official Instagram handle, Kashmera Shah shared a collage of Jackie Shroff and Krushna Abhishek. In her post, she addressed the concerns of the comedian’s fans, writing, “To all the disappointed fans that have been messaging us, please understand that IMITATION IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF FLATTERY. Krushna loves #jaggudada @apnabhidu @krushna30.” Her post received various reactions from netizens, with one comment stating, “I think @krushna30 is super talented and I completely enjoy him imitating Jaggu Dada; it’s extremely entertaining.” Another fan added, “Absolutely, and we have seen it in times when he meets Jackie Shroff! He is a legend and Krushna must be a loyal fan!” A third fan mentioned, “He is the best at impersonating Jaggu Dada. So much fun to watch. I wish I could see him copying Jaggu Dada again.”

On Tuesday, May 14, Jackie Shroff filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court, with his counsel objecting to the misuse of the actor’s publicity and personality rights. The lawsuit cited the creation of memes and the sale of merchandise using Jackie Shroff’s name for commercial gains.

This isn’t the first time an actor has sought legal action for image protection rights. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan previously approached the Mumbai High Court to stop people from using his voice and impersonating him without consent. Similarly, Anil Kapoor moved to the Delhi High Court last year to protect his personality rights.

In a memorable episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, Jackie Shroff shared the stage with Krushna Abhishek and praised the comedian for his mimicry skills. Shroff told Kapil, “Arehh wo Krushna jo hai, suna hai wo sabki acting badi achhi karta hai. Meri acting toh bhidu mere se bhi bhaari karta hai, mere ko maalum nahi tha ki aisa hai main.” (I have heard that he does amazing acting. In fact, he does my acting more finely than I do, and I didn’t realize that I’m like this.)

He humorously added, “Toh main Krushna ko zara bulana chahta hun. Krushna bawa mera bacha, aur sabko bacha banaya toh ek din joote khaayega bhai. Mera bacha, mera bacha aaja mera bacha.” (So, I want to call Krushna. And listen, if you made everyone your child, you would get beatings).

When Krushna came on stage, he immediately touched Jackie’s feet, and in a surprising turn, Jackie touched Krushna’s feet as well. Shroff then requested a personal performance from Krushna, who, despite initial hesitation, got into character, leaving Shroff in splits and joy.

Krushna Abhishek has also impersonated other celebrities like Dharmendra, Akshay Kumar, Jeetendra, Sanjay Dutt, and even Amitabh Bachchan, showcasing his versatile mimicry skills.
