Jagriti says to Durjan and the others about Geeta. Jagriti only knows Geeta as “Mamma,” and that’s why she explains to everyone that Mamma inspired her to pursue an education and isn’t afraid of her being a Chitta. Bindi becomes worried about Jagriti and drags her away, saying she will teach her a lesson. Durjan recalls the warning Kalikant gave him.
Bindi complains to Harish that Jagriti is talking about education. Jagriti asks Bindi why she is angry at her for speaking about education. Bindi replies that it’s because she’s seen the consequences of education. Bindi remembers how their community suffered in the past because of Geeta. Bindi tells Jagriti that if Kalikant finds out that a Chitta is thinking about education, he won’t spare her, and no one will be able to save her. Bindi
Golu and his friends discuss Jagriti and what she said about education. They agree that education is a bad thing, which is why their parents tell them not to think about it. Kachori arrives and tells Golu that Jagriti believes education can bring them respect. Golu warns Kachori to stop taking Jagriti’s side, or he will complain to their mother about her.
At night, Nanda questions Durjan about why he allows Jagriti to speak and act freely. Durjan asks Nanda to come over and shows her the moon. He tells her that education is like the moon to Jagriti—something she will never reach. Nanda responds by saying that earning Rs. 100 is like reaching the moon, yet Jagriti still did it. She warns that if Jagriti gets an education, Durjan will lose control over the community. Angered by Nanda’s words, Durjan burns her hand on a hot pan as punishment. He makes a comment about Nanda before leaving.
Jagriti looks at the stars and talks to her mother. Kachori joins her, and Jagriti complains that Harish and Bindi won’t listen to her because she wants an education, while they are against it. Kachori advises her to explain it to Harish the way Mamma explained it to her. Jagriti decides to take Harish to meet Mamma so she can explain the importance of education to him. Kachori questions how she’ll do that since Harish can’t move. Jagriti then sees some children playing with tires and gets an idea.
Jagriti goes to the junkyard and, with Kachori’s help, removes the tires from a four-wheel cart.
The next morning, Bindi wakes Harish and asks where Jagriti is, as she hasn’t seen her since the morning. Jagriti arrives with the other children and proudly shows the wheelchair she made for Harish to the entire community.
Jagriti presents the wheelchair to Harish and tells him she made it so he can accompany her to meet Mamma, who will explain the importance of education to him. Durjan sarcastically praises Jagriti, saying that she’s made a wheelchair for Harish, and one day, she might even give him wings. Jagriti replies that it would be great if she could make wings for Harish. Durjan warns that if Harish had wings, he’d have to be careful that they don’t break or get destroyed by an eagle.
