This chapter I dedicate to Asw, sorry dear for not responding to your message but I hope you read this.
Recap-shaurya sent to jail and ragini revealing that kanav is sanskar son.
“When I left Kolkata I came to Mumbai where I had a job fixed online.on station I met a lady….kaveri aunty I was going to work in her wedding planning business….I had said her about my accommodation and she proposed for my stay at her house… everything seemed sorted but I didn’t knew it would turn a completely new page in my life… she was so sweet… we reached home and I heard the feeble sound of screaming… aunty ran inside and I saw…. Kavita in labor pain… aunty panicked so I had to keep my cool…..I helped in her delivery and….. kanav came in to our lives…. our little bundle of joy…so delicate… so small…he became the connection between us three…. Kavita thanked me…we started living happily…. making our own place in this cruel world….Kavita was always full of life… she didn’t cared what other said….so carefree… independent…. she knew to find the best in everything….
I was still in guilt of cheating you all…. but she changed me completely… not only my dressing but my way of thinking of life…. we didn’t shared anything about our past lives but one day I told her my story…of love, obsession…she didn’t judged me but stayed by my side….she told her story…her love… how she was to marry you but then the attack… the goons thought she’s dead but aunty found her nerves and took her to hospital… she took promise from Kavita to not meet you..it would destroy both of their lives… she feared for kavi’s life and Kavita gave in…they moved to Mumbai….I then came to know about sanskar being kanav’s father.i never knew sanskar’s part of the story.. not even kavi’s name…. but then I wanted to tell her how you changed sanskar for her… but she said she won’t meet you anytime….for kaveri aunty sake…Kavita got to know that she’s pregnant only after 3months after shifting to Mumbai… she wanted to give birth to kanav….
she told kaveri aunty that she won’t marry anyone… aunty had to accept but with time she was happy to see Kavita so happy….”ragini told sanskar while others listened.ragini and sanskar had the same expression in their eyes…. feeling happy hearing about Kavita and kanav.. devastated imagining her suffering during her pregnancy… “But what did shaurya do? how he got to know about Kavita?”adarsh asked attracting ragini’s attention.
“After 2years kavi met… shaurya in a restaurant…it was a black day… when he came to know of her survival…he befriended her again promising to not tell sanskar about her…. but Kavita didn’t told him about kanav… she always found him strange… And wanted to keep distance from him but he always came around in her office and wedding venues….he even asked her for marriage but kavi refused him staight away giving him warning to stay away….
he disappeared suddenly.. aunty and kavi were relieved…. but it was the silence before the storm…..he came back but in disguise….kavi got a call one day which startled her…..it was of…..sanskar”ragini was trying to control her anger and sobs narrating the incident which snatched 2most important people of her life due to that pathetic excuse of a human, that shaurya, her blood boiled seeing him being so carefree as if nothing happened but she knew she had to control her rage.everyone was puzzled hearing sanskar calling Kavita while sanskar felt it all so painful,he wanted to scream but found himself so numbto make a physical moment.
Ragini continued gulping the saliva tightening her fist,the thing she was going to tell now would make her fall low in sanskar’s eyes but now was the time to reveal it all”Kavita was shocked to hear from sanskar but she thought that shaurya might have told him about her…. she refused to take his calls but he kept on trying… and her love arose again.. she talked to him… and after sometime kavi told aunty about it… aunty was furious at first but me and kavi melted her….I was so happy that kavi will get her love… and sanskar,my friend would be happy now…. kavi didn’t told him about kanav as she wanted to tell him face to face… aunty also talked to him and agreed to meet him… sanskar was in Mumbai so he called them at a restaurant…
kavi thought to take kanav too but aunty said her to wait….a car was sent and they both went in it….I was so excited to see Kavita getting her love… but then our world came crashing to ground…I was feeding kanav and dancing happily when I received a call saying that…… kavi….. aunty….they…they died… in a car crash….. all the dreams… the future vanished in that moment….I gave kanav to my neighbor and went to police station… and…..saw their…. bodies….my kavi looked so happy while leaving… and now she was lying ….lifeless…. aunty…in whom I saw a mother …. she was no more….I lost a mother again… I was devastated…I didn’t wanted to live… but kanav’s face came to my mind and I gathered the courage to go on in life…. but I was shocked to know that the car had bomb… someone purposely tried to kill them…I concluded….it was…. sanskar…..I vowed to take revenge on him….i came back here to punish you sanskar….
I hated you… but then…. when we had gone to wedding planning and you accompanied me….I got a video of the restaurant in Mumbai… there wasn’t you but…. shaurya…. I started searching about him and got to know that he was behind all this….he had been good in acting, voice modulation and prosthetics…he posted as sanskar… talking to kavi, inviting them…. he knew now only Kavita will trust you…he hid behind your name to fulfil his evil intentions…he wanted to kill Kavita by your name..that you deceived her…and if police investigates it…you name would come up …he murdered kavi and aunty…he trapped them acting as you…. the person he got to fix the bomb…ramakant pandey….I was successful in tracing him… he was ready to be a witness… but then he disappeared and found dead..I understood shaurya was behind that too…..I just had to collect proofs…he mostly stayed out of India… traveling always but as sanskar said he would never miss his birthday…so I waited for it…I went to Mumbai last week to collect the proofs, get police under confidence…to reopen the case… and all the legal work done…and today I was able to get Justice to kavi and aunty”
ragini looked up to sanskar’s eyes and seeing him hurt gave an unknown pain to her.sanskar seemed lost in his misery and above that ragini thinking him to be the culprit broke him completely…he felt so heavy at the moment , for him life seemed invaluable at the moment, he wanted to run away from the bitter reality,to go back in past and change it all but he knew he couldn’t do that which all the same made him feel more miserable.sanskar got up with tears flowing through his eyes,sujatha came to support him but he just moved forward and went upstairs to his room closing the door.he indeed needed some alone time to calm himself, to accept all this and get peace of mind.
Sujatha ran after sanskar with tears brimming in her eyes too but durgaprasad said in his all the time authoritative and calm unfathomable tone”give him time… he needs to stay alone…we will talk in morning.everybody go to their room”. ragini was sitting on the couch watching into nothingness,it’s too hard to remember those beautiful memories and realize that you can’t have them again with the pain coming back in full force.swara kept hand on her shoulder but ragini didn’t even flinched,laksh held swara’s hand and said to give ragini some alone time.everyone was about to leave when sujatha came in front of ragini and kneeled down folding her hands.ragini looked at her quizzically while sujatha apologized”I am sorry….
I shouldn’t have said that”she was cut by ragini who said it wasn’t needed to which sujatha shook her head continuing”no… it’s needed…no woman has right to insult other woman… how could I say such things about you… without knowing the truth…sahi kehte hai…ek aurat hi aurat ki dushman hoti hai… what all I didn’t said to you…I shouldn’t have pointed finger on your character… what all you did for my son… you made him smile again..now only he started living his life… after you came again…you raised my grandson.. what all you had to hear for it… but you always held your head high…I am sorry to judge you wrong….
I know it’s not easy to forget it whether you say that you have forgiven me… but I promise that I will be there at your side… place my trust in you..”. ragini knelt down too and hugged her bursting into cry while sujatha said rubbing her back”it’s okay beta… you have been too brave throughout…not letting your emotions come in between…. now let it go… let your emotions flow… take out all your sorrow”. sujatha broke the hug when ragini calmed down and caressed her face giving a smile.everyone moved to their room and sujatha took ragini to the guest room bidding her good night.
Ragini sat in her room with only sanskar’s thought running in her mind.itwas 1am but sleep was far away, she struggled to convince her mind to go to sanskar’s room and finally got up going to his room.she knocked on the door but found it open and went in.she saw sanskar staring out the window, even when he had his back faced to her she could tell he was crying.she moved slowly towards him and kept hand on his shoulder softly muttering his name.”go away…I don’t need anyone”he said in a cold voice but ragini didn’t budged.she turned him towards her and wiped his tears speaking softly”I know what you are going through…I have also been through it….
I know you need alone time but sometimes you need someone to share your emotions with…dukh share karne se kam hota hai…if you keep it in you… you will suffocate… you know kavi always said sharing sorrows is more important than sharing joys in friendship”. sanskar gave her a painful look while ragini blinked telling him she’s there for him.sanskar let out a sigh and ragini hugged him sobbing while sanskar tried to control himself but he also broke down and hugged her.
“Why it happened with me… I had to stay away from Kavita…my son…
I couldn’t see his childhood… hear his first word… see him taking his first step… all I missed because of that shaurya…I didn’t do anything wrong with him… neither with anyone else… then why is God punishing me…am I that bad?”sanskar sobbed on her shoulder.ragini rubbed his back and spoke”sanskar you know God gives pain to only to them who have the strength to tolerate it…he tests you to make you a better person…I know kavi left us but if she would have been here na she would be slapping us for crying like kids for her… you know na she always wanted to remain a sweet memory for everyone and not a reason for our pain and tears… “She tried lightening the moment to which sanskar smiled dryily.
“And seeing your eyes I think you have cried enough…so don’t cry more… and I have all the special moments of kavi and kanav… you can watch them and relive the moments”ragini spoke in a cute manner hiding her vulnerable side.sanskar looked into her eyes as if reading her mind to which ragini bit her lip but then he smiled a little thanking her.”so you broke the rule of friendship by thanking me then let me say sorry to you… for doubting you behind… kavi’s…. but when I realized my mistake then I tried to be the best person to you…I mended my mistake…did I ?or you are still angry on me?”ragini held her ear asking sorry with a cute pout.sanskar nodded making ragini smile.
Both of their stomach roared due to hunger and they looked at each other embarrassed.”let’s go to kitchen and eat the cake,I didn’t even ate it properly… and I guess you too”ragini held his hand pulling him to kitchen.he just looked at her amazed.she so much reflected Kavita,she would have reacted in same way in such situation thought sanskar.”you know kavi scolded me whenever I would skip my meal due to these stupid emotions and after that I don’t leave my food due to any tension”ragini kept on blabbering taking out a big slice of cake in one plate with two spoons.she forwarded one spoon to him but he didn’t reacted so she took cake feeding him by her hands and eating herself too.a tear skipped his eyes but he wiped it without getting noticed by ragini.sanskar was confused now… what to do… whether to tell her about his love or keep it to himself, will she take it in a wrong way and run away or accept it,he had another mental battle to fight whether to be remorseful and guilty, blaming self and that prick for his life ‘s misery or accept it as destiny and move on ,confess to ragini.
At last I wrote this part…was it too fast…the transition of ragini from sorrow to this light hearted side so soon?I am still wary of it…. what do you think sanskar should do?will it be selfish of him to forget about Kavita or he should be captured in memories of past and forget his present life, regretting which isn’t in his hand?do tell me
And some words of wisdom: women are more patriachal than man …so we should start not let those conservative thoughts cloud our conscience.
Being strong doesn’t mean you should hide your tears and run away but embrace the situation and face it.
And an advice from my side… don’t ever skip your meal just because you feel sad,angry or nervous.
